  1. Are you on Vista? If yes, try deleting the Virtual Store copy of the game too. C:\Users\???\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Rockstar Games\GTA San Andreas. The Appdata folder might be hidden. Also, try running the game in Windows 98 compatibility mode and ensure all your video drivers are up-to-date.
  2. Yeah, what's funny about a website telling you that your PC is on? Now, if the site was flash based, made you run a complete scan of your system making you wait for 5 minutes just for the results and then told you that your PC works, that would be funny...and annoying, but funny.
  3. If you're on PC, just upload your save at GTASnP and the online checklist will tell you exactly what is left to do.
  4. As I told you on GTAF, it might not stop you from installing the game, but it will definitely stop you from running it. But I guess you need a second opinion. Don't expect anything different from what I said though.
  5. You do NOT multiply the clock speeds. A dual core means that each core individually runs at 1.6GHz and that is not enough for GTA IV. The first and foremost thing to do is to upgrade your CPU. If you do not wish to upgrade and have adequate cooling, you can overclock your CPU to 3.0GHz. That should give you a decent performance boost. I think I told you this already on GTAF...or was it someone else?
  6. It's majorly because of your processor bottlenecking your graphic card. If you have adequate cooling, you can overclock that processor to 3.0GHz and you'll see a considerable increase in performance. If you're willing to upgrade to a better processor, then it's even more better.
  7. It is supposed to be re-generated. It holds the settings and configuration unique to your own system, so my set file will not work for you. If you have any issues with the game, the first thing to do is to delete the gta_sa.set file and see if it fixes the issue. It's recommended to delete it after a reinstall, although not always necessary.
  8. What do you mean by 'removing AA'? AFAIK, there is no AA in the game. Did you apply any tweaks/mods? If so, get rid of them. And there is nothing wrong with your rig; it's fine. Try defragging your hard drive and use the -memrestrict command. If you're using any other commands, get rid of them.
  9. What settings are you running the game at? Can you post your benchmarking result? Are you using any commandlines? Have you tried the -memrestrict command? Also, try deleting all files from your Settings folder. C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Rockstar Games\GTA IV\Settings Also, uninstall your video drivers, use Driver Sweeper to remove all traces and reinstall them. Btw, your CPU is below minimum requirement. If you do not wish to upgrade, you can overclock it upto 3 GHz, provided you have the adequate cooling, and you'll see a considerable increase in performance.
  10. It seems that you have version 1 of the game. Download a version 1 100% savefile and see if it works. If it doesn't, I'd suggest reinstalling the game and deleting the gta_sa.set file from the User Files folder. There's no reason why a v1 savegame should crash for you.
  11. You bought a torrent!? Are you serious? That's the most ridiculous thing I ever heard. Either that, or I haven't really understood what you mean.
  12. Fired? Wow, that's a pretty harsh (may I add ridiculous?) decision. I can understand a suspension but firing someone over that is not justified. It's not like he handed the gun to Saddam Hussein to grab a pic with him before his execution.
  13. Maybe you guys are using a downgraded V2. That does not turn your game into V1. You'll still need V2 savefiles. If you're sill unsure, just use hmvartak's Savegame Converter to convert the save and then try to load it. Also note that if you're using different script files (Spaceeinstein's mod or hot coffee scripts), no amount of V1 or V2 saves will work.
  14. Yeah, pretty much everything. Not so much chatting though, but browsing and downloading forms a crucial and heavy part of my internet usage.
  15. I'll do it for you. Mission: Cesar Vialpando Status: Complete Link: http://gtasnp.com/19084 Notes: You've a phone call waiting. Also, I stored a Remington in your garage at Ganton. It's one of the better vehicles for the next Cesar mission.
  16. Tap the button that you've assigned to 'Lean Forward'. It has to work, unless you're facing terrible lag, in which case it becomes impossible to catch the plane. As said, you can upload your savefile at GTASnP, post the download link and someone will do it for you.
  17. Whatever you've heard, I'm pretty sure you've heard it from banned members who were banned because they broke the rules but they don't want to acknowledge that fact. Like every other huge forum, GTAF does have its share of spam and crappy topics. And that is exactly why the rules are a little stricter. That wasn't the case a few years back. As the member base has expanded, there are more number of pre-pubescent kids running around and if it weren't for the rules, the place would have looked like a garbage dump. I suggest you check it out yourself rather than believing some flying news you've heard on the internetz. As long as you stay within the rules, you'll be fine. And this is not just GTAF, but it's how the internet works, right?
  18. Not really. You get warned only if you swear excessively at someone in particular or in most cases, it's when people use BB code tricks to get around the swear filter.
  19. I lost mine at 15. It felt great because I was madly in love with the girl and I thought I was going to end up marrying her. 3 years down the line after that, we have broken up, no longer talk to each other and now, I feel weird losing my virginity to the wrong girl. I had always imagined losing it to the 'almost' perfect girl of my dreams whom I'd be with for the rest of my life. You're lucky to be still having that chance.
  20. That works fine too. There are a lot many things that one can do with/to IPB. That's what GTAF had being doing...until the Admin CP broke. Coding it from scratch just gives you that extended level of control and customizability, that's all.
  21. Talk about bad luck. It's almost as if she was destined to die. And yeah, FD came to my mind as soon as I read this.
  22. It has been in the works since 2006, actually. From what I know, the new forums are being coded from scratch and hence, the extensively large development time. The admins do it in whatever little free time they get. But I have no idea when it'll be finished.
  23. Intel Core2Quad 2.4 GHz 4 GB DDR2 RAM ATi HD4850 512 MB 580 GB HDD Running Vista Ultimate SP2 Upgraded last November, especially for GTA IV.
  24. Currently using Firefox 3.5 and loving every bit of it.
