A good quote from my mentor "a great guitarist can sound good on any guitar". So Spaz is right, but I disagree with him on all the pickups and shit cause that can get expensive and not really worth it. If the guitar is decent then replace components... but a guitar like that, no. And Acoustic guitars don't really have anything you can replace unless it's acoustic/electric. It's kind of like buying a car from the 1940's and putting hydraulics and nitrous and shit in it - it would be fucking awesome but ridiculous and would cost a shitton of money.

Completely agree with Spaz, while I haven't seen any good total conversions out there (probably because it takes a shit load of time and a team and they get bored and realize they can't do it), so that's my reason. I've tried a few before, but they weren't "total" conversions like they said, just added shit and put new missions and replaced a bunch of shit etc.

Yamaha's aren't that good to be honest with you... in fact most suck, but it would probably be a great starter guitar. Don't spend too much on it though, because that would be a rip off.

I've noticed HP has better options at this point, they're also a lot easier to upgrade, if he wants to game make sure he gets an ATX case or larger.
