  1. This one I believe is part of a combo someone does on 4chan, and probably other places...
  2. xD nice c-c-c-combo breaker rockstarrem.
  3. Damn. Bummer. But hey, I have some money saved up - I could invest in some things at least for the desktop. Actually, I was thinking I'd sell my laptop anyway if it couldn't run GTA IV because I only used it for porn and live gigs so I could just build a new system or upgrade my desktop. What do you think would need to happen to run it really well? To look and play better than the console versions. I don't want to shell out the cash on hardware and still not not be able to play IV.
  4. just posted my specs in the "Can my PC run GTA IV" thread. If anyone can be of aid, please help me out! Thanks.

  5. Haven't yet purchased a 360 or PS3 and I still haven't played GTA IV. That bums the shit out of me so if either of my two systems meet the cut I'm going to go out and buy it for PC. Here's the main desktop my parents, sister, and I use. We've had it for a few years. Sorry if I typed too much for the processor. I'm just copying and pasting what the diagnostics tool is saying. Operating system - Windows Vista™ Home Basic Processor - AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4400+ (2 CPUs), ~2.2GHz Memory - 2046MB RAM Graphics card - ATI Radeon HD 4670 Here's the specs to my laptop. I've had it for a couple years too. Operating system - Windows Vista™ Home Premium Processor - Intel® Core2 Duo CPU T6600 @ 2.20GHz (2 CPUs), ~2.2GHz Memory - 3582MB RAM Graphics card - NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS So yeah, there's my specs. I appreciate any help in advance. ----- EDIT: Forgot to add that both systems are 32-bit operating systems.

Rockstar did exactly this in 2005 with The Warriors(which was a kick ass game if I may add). I think this would be a cool thing to see in GTA V. Or hell, maybe your hat just won't flop off. Video games don't need to be a life simulator. A female protagonist could definitely be dope. Could is the keyword though.
  7. Really excited seeing this already. I like how you made forum bosses guru's instead. The badges look quite attractive. I like all of it actually. Thanks Gerard and co.
  8. I didn't mean to make it sound like that's what you guys intended it to be, just throwin' in my two cents. I completely agree with them also reporting anything like you said, and thanks for clearing up my confusion with being a staff member and whatnot.
  9. Off-hand, I wouldn't think so. Is your ps3 not hooked up online, making you unable to play a game even offline because of updates? When it try's to sign you in press O to go back. My friend does that and it seems to work.
  10. Bold: This is the seperate group feature we've been talking about in this topic, correct? If so: this might just be me, but I think if we implement this, the members in the given group shouldn't have the ability to delete posts, topics, etc. as a Mod would. That's why we have Moderators to begin with. What this group would do(take for modding as an example)is it will publicly show who really knows their stuff in a given area, and be of adequate help nearly 100% of the time in that area. So for instance, let's say you have a question for GTA SA modding, but your question doesn't REALLY need a new topic, but it is something you need to be answered. Find one of the members that is in the modding group and pm them. The members of the group also would more than likely always post in the given subforum they're appointed to, otherwise why be in the group. These groups don't need advantages over other members of the forum, it's just a little hint for everyone at the forum to know who to talk to if they need small questions answered so we don't flood the board with unneeded topics. This could however make our boards less active, but idk. I'm not as experienced with the ways of forums contrary to the experience our staff possess, or even some of the members. But I'm trying to look at this from all angles, and help our site become and stay better. I do think a private social form & inter-gang competitions will make joining a gang and staying here at the forum enticing, but maybe we could make our gangs be our official clan tags on the ps3 and 360(that is if you have one or both of them). ----- EDIT: is being appointed a staff member different from being an Admin, Moderator, or Forum Boss?
  11. Like Llama and Mpilk said, dope stuff man! You have a knack with using the camera in a really cinematic way. I enjoyed both videos a lot dude. The roundhouse kick made me laugh too.
  12. Cool vids. man. I especially liked the parts in your second video at 0:40 when you drifted around that taxi and at 0:53 when you sent that guy in the air. Made me laugh.

I enjoyed most of that post but these two really struck out for me. Your idea on siding with gangs sound really neat, and a lot more in-depth than just the "going along with the storyline" which all games did until recently. At the same time though, I kind of enjoy having to go along with the storyline. More character customization has always been a want of mine since SA came out. In GTA 3, Claude looked badass so it didn't matter much but when we started being able to change the clothes of our character I was always disappointed because our options were so lame and lacking.
  14. "I do enjoy getting out, running, cycling (love a good downhill trail), I just lack the motivation. A bacon sandwich is usually a far more enticing prospect."

Llama, you're a good man. You're a good man. LOL. I'm the same way haha. How's it going man, figured I'd touch bases with you, see what's up. Haven't talked to you in a while.

  15. Yeah no problem, glad to help. You also mentioned that this was more of a website query if anything hence your post in this subforum. This subforum is strictly for suggestions or feedback for The GTA Place or the forums. Has nothing to do with GTA games questions. Hope that clears up any confusion.
  16. Hey Sepulcher, welcome to the forum. Yes you're posting in the wrong subforum but hey it happens. Here's a link to the proper subforum to post in regarding GTA IV modding. I'm sure a mod will move this to the correct section soon enough. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask. Now to your question: Quite certain the patches are for the pc, yeah.
  17. And I agree with you. I was only trying to justify the use of drugs. I didn't mean to make is sound like our conversation was getting sidetracked, but what I was trying to prove was offtopic(like you pointed out saying that you were only talking about the fact they are bad for you). ----- Huh, 12? Damn. I didn't really get into that sorta stuff until the last year. Probably even less. Any help on getting started with web development and design? Because I am interested in it. Just not really sure where to get started. Same with coding in general. I really want to get familiar with the stuff.
  18. Haha, I've read too many educational/comedic articles as you can tell! But yeah, of course running is healthier. It was only an example though, which could be substituted with sex, eating, etc. Even gaming. Still though, drugs more or less are going to be the more harmful thing in the end. Which brings me to what I should of brought up earlier: "What the king does in HIS castle, is his own deal" saying. Or at least my mom and dad say that lol. I use the argument for really anything. In this case, if some dude is smoking a little pot and maintaining a mere 5 x 5 grow operation to support his family, let him be. Chances are, he's not exactly the culprit behind global warning, and frankly, he's not harming anyone. But, shit varies, and that harmless pothead is not always the case at hand because sometimes people ARE being harmed. Take for instance the Mexican cartel in California. My county is dealing with that bullshit as we speak, and I'm sick and tired of it. Anywho, I'm getting sidetracked. In the end yeah drugs aren't needed, but humans don't need to be living breathing robots. If you need to hit your bong every now and then, feel welcome to. Need to take a drag off a cig? Feel welcome to. Long day of work you say? Make yourself a warm cocktail. Moderation is key though and It'd just be nice if the Earth didn't need to deal with the discovery of cocaine and heroin and stuff.
  19. I should of explained further, rephrased or something but I do agree with you to a degree. Drugs, are bad, and like you said, it's just fucking logic that we really don't need to do it. What it does to us, is not beneficial. We need to keep in mind though that if you run each day at 11 am, after a while you grow accustomed to it. Do it long enough and suddenly stop, and you cab experience withdrawals. I'm not saying cross country runners are the equivalent of meth addicts but everything can become a negative addiction. So I think it's kind of a pick your own poison sort of deal. Things make us happy, but in at least one way they aren't good for us. On the subject of kids(meaning really young)doing drugs... I don't condone it whatsoever. Like rockstarrem pointed out, even at his and my age it can be crippling(not literally.... usually). Fun fact: Our brain even gives us a high when we dismiss anything that someone says when it is against our own opinion. It's that feeling when you say, "HAHA!" in your head when you hear someone say something that, to you, is utterly stupid. Yeah, we're naturally close minded dicks(be an open minded person though, and that'll stop).
  20. Yeah I've definitely shook off some illusions but I wouldn't of minded to wake up earlier. Before high school I was blissfully ignorant and like you once anxiety started playing a roll in my life I didn't interact with people anymore. Won't go into the specifics of that right now but things eventually started smoothening out, started dating a chick and ultimately her and my introduction into philosophy and zen made me wake up and calm down. I did recently start smoking marijuana again, after quitting for 3 years. Part of my anxiety was from smoke in general and I just couldn't smoke anymore but yeah, I'm back to smoking. I drink occasionally, but really only at parties or when I'm with a tight group of friends relaxing. I also am interested in psychedelic drugs and have done a couple but already know I'll only be doing a couple of them a handful of times throughout my life. It's not for everyone for sure and is a serious thing that should be researched and whatnot, but I don't see what I do negatively effecting me or holding me back. Also, I looked at that Uni's website you linked, looks pretty cool man. How long have you known you want to pursue web design and to go there? @ Ivan - I know what you mean about how the past may of made your future possibly limited or uncertain. Things always will be uncertain though. Things change and things will surprise you. What's important is to act, accept, and move on. And hey, with what you just posted, obviously you've got a good head on your shoulders. Ultimately, enjoy life. Whether you're religious, an atheist, nihilistic, or whatever, it's important to know you could be wrong. But who cares(on a personal level. I won't get into whether religion is detrimental or not to society). Just try to be an alright dude on a day to day basis and enjoy life.
  21. Well if all of us enjoy it, perhaps we can have fun on other servers then. Might not be as organized to fit right in with the gangs, but it'd be people here gaming together. Which is good. I don't have a 360 or ps3 and realized today how badly I still want to play GTA IV, so I'm going to buy it, and get SA for the matter too(on pc).
  22. What they are: selective, social and competitive clubs(like you said). As for what they could do, gang wars is out of the picture, but there's still other stuff. What about still playing SA online, did the community enjoy that? I at the time never had SA for PC. Was it tough to host and whatnot? Can gangs feel like it's gang oriented without executing fully-integrated multiplayer gang wars? Is rp-based action completely out of the picture? I liked the idea of gangs here at TGTAP right when I joined, hell my first post was in a gang discussion topic, and I still enjoy the idea. It sets us apart from a lot of other forums which is really neat and enticing to people that would consider registering at TGTAP. But it does need purpose, or at least makes more sense with purpose.
  23. And the Casino? You can get 4 millions in one round! Is the chance of winning at that as good a percentage as the betting shop trick?
  24. Ah, you're right. When I first read your guys' walk-through, I read the saving at that safe house as part of the procedure itself like it wouldn't work unless you save there(making it a glitch). I see what you're saying now though.
