The CPU's a 6-core, it absolutely eats through desktop processing - a little bit overkill looking back, but ehh well. My favourite part of the build was unpacking the case to find it had wheels supplied with it xD - that and my first taste of epic solid state boot times.

Also Windows 7 x64, rest of the computer specs are in my signature. Also run ubuntu on a shit-old laptop just incase I ever need a spare system.

Must admit I wasn't fully convinced. I REALLY hope they bring back the comic / illustration storytelling elements... Rockstar have such an amazing group of artists (Stephen Bliss' work is beyond epic) and it would be a shame to not have that at their disposal. However, I am looking forward to the new engine in action in a more linear environment, with more scripted events and so on, hopefully it will really shine.

Amnesia: The Dark Descent. If you attempted to broadcast my speech during the opening 4 minutes I could stomach, you'd probably hit quite a bit of red tape. I used the word fuck around a bazillion times, shit about 3 times more than that, all whilst whimpering like a pussy hiding behind a flower pot I'd acquired within the first 30 seconds to garrison my face against scary monsters.

I've spoken with a group of the mods before on voip once, but that's about it, we've also tried to arrange to meet up for a beer somewhere but it didn't work out given everyone's schedules not really working together. We also did have an MTA server for a brief period 9after 2.0 was released) but we had issues with hosting arrangements and so on if I remember correctly. It was a hell of a lot of fun, actually, even if 90% of staff activity was having to rocketlaunch griefers and stuff.

(That's what the edit note's for ) I'm all over the idea of having throwbacks to missions from the top-down era. I think it would be a fantastic service to the fans who grew up with the series. And the writing was as good then as it is now, so they'd still have all the irreverence to keep the newer generation audience engaged. I think Rockstar probably run the risk of being branded as copycats should they decide to envision London though, Given the release of 'The Getaway' (the fact that it was pretty terrible aside), and that's not something I'd necessarily like to besmirch my company's good image with should I be in the situation. They're clearly not afraid to 'go there' with it - I mean, they had Maccer wanking over Margaret Thatcher... And I think you have a solid point in that mass appeal will keep them glued to an American setting.

Oh and I'm not doubting for a second that because the Housers are British they'd negelct to include any ridicule aimed at British people, things, phenomena, and so on. But having the world based in America is what gave the series the backbone around which it was built, and where it's entire soul resides. It's for that reason I don't ever see GTA being based outside of the UK (and because 'Grand Theft Auto' is a largely American term for the felony, I don't recall it ever being used within Britain) and also is one of the rich well of humour mined by the writers which game the franchise such infamy. Also, i have no idea where you plucked the idea of em implying you'd missed the point from. It was more a comment about how GTA London had focus very quickly shifted from it and i'd go as far as to say it's probably the most overlooked major release of the franchise (GTA Advance and so on aside), not a direct jibe. For further discussion value, I'll go on to say that yeah, i would also say that us guys on the PC have been given the finger a little bit. As of late we've been subject to later - than desired releases that were just that bit too buggy or not quite optimised well enough.

I don't see what everybody's fascination is with a(nother) GTA being set in London, really. Yeah they did the '69 version, but... it missed the point by a longshot. GTA is essentially one big joke about Americans, America, Americanisms and so on. I'd cast my vote for Carcer city a million times. It's already in the 'lore' and they wouldn't have the sae expectations to live up to had they done a VC / SA remake... Haha, idk. But let me share some wisdom with the younger guys here. As a few of you may know, I had a great thing going on with a girl who I loved one hell of a lot. I'm a nice guy, but I live life a little on the edge. Yeah, I'm impulsive, love to go on spontaneous road trips, drink all night, take recreational drugs and I'm not afraid to say what I think or do something crazy on the drop of a hat. But I'd never have dragged her into anything she didn't want to do. I'd skip my go on the blunt pass if she'd asked me to go easy, drive extra safe if she was worried, call her in the morning, etc etc. Around the start of the year, well, I won't mess you around here, I turned into a bit of a jerk. I didn't care so much about when I saw her, relished the times we'd argue so I could have a break and rip it with my friends, and hey... makeup sex, right? It got to a stage where she was getting pissed at me about it. And I was pissed at her for being pissed about it. Why couldn't I do my thing? There was a period of time where we decided to cool off; I'd agreed to call her when I'd decided, essentially whether we'd carry on our relationship, the way it had been before I turned into a dick or go our separate ways .I spent the week having an epic chillout, completely and utterly nonchalant cos let's face it, she was always going to take me back - she needed me, we had a deep emotional bond ad a great thing going. We'd even worked at the same restaurant for around a year without any tension or feeling overcrowded, or anything... About a week later she told me she was done waiting and to come see her the next day. I did, still partially high following a 2 hour sleep and a cold shower. I started to shake. I felt more nervous than I'd ever been my entire life. I was sitting there, 20 years old and melting into an emotional fucking wreck like a 6 year old girl. She explained how she felt we'd come to a natural end and it would be good for both of us if we just called it a day, having grown apart over the past couple of months. I forced out some reluctant tones of agreement, stood up, hugged her, kissed her on the cheek and left. Around another week later, she texted me asking for her stuff back. She said she'd send her sister round so I told her I'd be out. She told me to leave it by the door so I said it was forecast rain. Then she told me she was on her way back from work and she'd pick it up. I had to see here just once more... I had to tell her what i felt, what was going on in my head and beg her to take me back. By the time I was out the shower, she'd left another message saying she got tired waiting and went home. So I went round there. I gave her back a shoebox with all the things of hers I had. Again, she talked about stuff being for the better (wise to my intentions no doubt) and got the same affirmative mumbles in return. I got in my car and left. Then I cut up a guy infront of me on the road. Then I slammed on my fucking brakes and turned that sucker around. I went the fuck back there and laid my entire soul on the fucking line and begged her to take me back. I said I'd only agreed before because I thought it was what she wanted, I told her I wanted to right my wrongs and make her as happy as I possibly could. No dice. She gave me all the stuff which she didn't want out the aforementioned shoebox and said a third and final goodbye, along with the promise that she still cared about me and we wouldn't be one of those resentful ex - couples. A few weeks passed with me going through highs and lows about my new found loneliness / freedom / eternal solitude / lone wolf status. I was coming to terms with it well when that white and blue technological motherfucker facebook reared it's ugly head, and kindly informed me she was dating a cocaine - using, lsd - taking, woman using....dickhead. We'd both worked with him at the restaurant where she's promised me to 'not talk like they do about girls they've been with because it's fucking disgusting' and where he'd talk to the other guys about how great her tits were and once locked her in the walk in fridge which resulted in her crying. So now I'm pretty much one angry sonofabitch, and have this to conclusively respond to the thread title with this: Don't ever, ever change who you are in the name of finding a girl. I found mine by being Mr. Nice guy and we enjoyed 4 years (I was 16 when we started dating) together. I had some of the best times of my life with her. Don't ever do something that isn't you, that you aren't comfortable doing to impress someone, or live up to the stereotype that has been stamped on your head. Don't let your buddies push you into acting like a douche in the name of some girl. if you want her, cut the crap and go ask her out. If she doesn't want you, she's not worth your time or fucking effort. She wants the jerk, guess what, chances are down the line you'll end up thinking she's a fuckin' jerk. It's not about how hard you hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward, that's how winning is done. Aaaand a few more things to round off the text - wall. I've been following quite a bit about this game and definitely picking it up as close to release as possible if the PC release isn't as buggy as SR2 reportedly was. It looks fun as hell and should be a nice break from the serious AAA titles being released around the same time. I particularly like how you can shoot mindraping squids at people's faces. I think rockstar are probably shitting it at least a little bit over games like this and the monstrously good fun that was Just Cause 2. For now Rockstar probably have an edge on the market but if people are expecting them to make a move on games like SR3 and JC2 and instead get another IV (which i still think is a fantastic games in it's own right) then they (both the fans and rockstar) might be dissapointed.

Tuner, I have seen the reports, and I just don't think any of what you're pointing out warrants any sort of sanction. Without going through each of the reports and individually pointing out why, you might not see where I'm coming from. For instance, the report you've made from this thread stemmed from an argument YOU have instigated, and then reported MrGTA for his retaliation. There's no need for that. Any... anywhere this has happened that you can point t me to? Also, with all due respect to him, Miles can't warn you shit. So don't worry about that.

I'd quite like to step in here and get a few things said: @TUNA - If you have a problem with a certain member of the forum spamming, then kindly inform me of your concerns instead of following that same member around the forums with your nose up his ass jumping on everything he posts with tiring, cookie cutter remarks. @MrGTA - If you believe another member is making your time spent on these forums less enjoyable, contact me outlining your concerns and we will do our utmost to take action upon those concerns. In the meantime, try not to retaliate or stoop to their level. Also: the post merge is just a moderator tool so that we can merge duplicate threads to help minimise clutter and confusion. I know we're not especially active these days, but that doesn't mean we're any less vigilant. Just leave it the fuck out - simple as that.

Good to see Rockstar have actually pushed all 3 of the III era titles through now, I think it's awesome that they've kept in mind the games that got them where they are today and are willing to try new things at their own expense (AAA developers with as many as 3 games on OSX anyone?) - y'know for the purpose of discussion value.

Installing something like a low quality particle effects mod [here] might help if you're getting a low framerate. Not tried it myself but was thrown up by a quick google.

I think if this'd happened (the conversion between platforms) back on the game's release there would've been quite a few hiccups. Given that macs these days are getting pretty powerful it probably compensates. Plus there's no limit to the Genius of R*.
