Spaz The Great
Alright, so, as far as I know I have V1 of San Andreas((I even have mods installed and working properly)), but I canNOT get MTA to work... At all... I've already tried reinstalling it, and the two "suggestions" on their development wiki... And I even checked if I put the correct installation location for SA, twice.... Regardless of what I do, it will NOT go past the "Stop playing with yourself" splash screen. Is ANYONE having this problem?
Pandora
In the San Andreas Installation Directory, is there a folder named 'MTA' there? If it's not you'll get the following error/message: "Could not start Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Please try restarting, or if the problem persists, contact MTA at www.multitheftauto.com"
Spaz The Great
Yep, folder is all there.
GTA Don
You say you have mods installed? That might be the problem.

Pandora
Got admin rights on the PC?
Thomas.
You could try and reinstall the game, if it has had mods put on it before that could affect it. I wouldn't know but I think it could. One missing file could also effect the loading. Such as a .dll file or something.
GTA Don
He said it works perfectly when mods are installed, he deleted the mods, tried again, still the same problem. Make sure you have all the files in the MTA folder or your SA directory. Yeah, it could be a missing .dll.
Spaz The Great
Got admin rights on the PC? Yes, why would I not? Only YOU work on a non-admin account And the files are in the right place. It isn't SA, it's MTA. MTA won't go past the initial title screen. SA works fine by itself, but apparently MTA doesn't want to work.
Thomas.
Have you tried Reinstalling MTA. I Wouldn't know if it would require to be reinstalled because it worked perfectly for me first time.
Pandora
I guess I am the only fag who's account doesn't have admin rights.. I do have an admin account, but don't use it in general. Only for when I want to install stuff and play games I can't on a limited account. Rofl. Anyway, I really don't have a clue. Best chance of solving it would be asking here. Thomas.
Yes, I had a problem with MTA not working. The beta system uses a serial number assigned to individual people. The problem I had was with it saying my serial was invalid. First, register an MTA beta account. Then uninstall MTA, reinstall it and check the option to not use an account. Then after you install the game, go to Start, Run, type regedit, click ok, then navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE -> Multi Theft Auto: San Andreas. There should be two registry keys. One called (Default) and one called GTA:SA Path. Right-click in the box with the keys and create a new string value, called Username. Make the value data the username you registered the MTA account with. Then create another new string value called Serial and make the value data the serial number provided on your MTA account webpage. Could Chris82s post help? †Ĵасқ•×•Āѕніяамі†
Oops sorry! Never knew it! Where to download MTA?
JustADummy
What a stupid question. Google MTA SA and you'll see the new DM version. Or go to the main site (tgtap.com), Downloads, Multiplayer GTA, Older Releases and downlad the race one.
GTA Don
Meh, most people are using the newer version (I think?). Try re-installing MTA and SA and see if it works. If it doesen't... *slowly backs away*.
