Thomas.
Yeah, it's an article from 1997, there were no good computers really back then - at least compared to today.

Husky
Yeah, it's an article from 1997, there were no good computers really back then - at least compared to today. That's from the 90's. Raybob feel sorry, because technology is growing slower/quicker and cell phones are getting smaller. Feel sorry for the people with large heads and their tiny phones. Mpilk901
However some analysts question what a business user is going to do with a 300-MHz Deschutes on their desktop. "I don't know how business users are going to take advantage of all those MIPS (millions of instructions per second)" That's a pretty fucking good quote, if they only knew... I know, but it's pretty weird to see an article like that in 2009..... Some of my computing text books are so out of date they talk about having 16MB of RAM and that being a lot. I'm pretty sure that my first PC from 1999 had a 366-MHz Deschutes Pentium II. Actually, it might have been a Dixon core.... Meh. No, wait, the Dixon was a mobile CPU...... K then, it must have been Deschutes. Well anyway, I had that PC until the summer of 05, and by the then it was truly slower than hell.
