JustADummy
Well, has anyone tried Windows Vista SP2? I downloaded the latest RC today from Microsoft Technet and it seemed faster. Though it added a "Evaulation Version Build 6002" in the bottom right side of the screen..
Chris
All betas and RC's show the build number in the bottom right. I never bother with RC's of service packs. I'll just wait til the final is released. What's it supposed to fix/change/improve/break anyway?
JustADummy
It improved the performance a bit for me. Also to see changelog: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/dd262148.aspx

MeZaMe YuMe_MoMoKu
I downloaded it, there's a new icon at the bottom-right which is the 'Evalutaion' thing. I guess nothing happened.

Nate10
Eh, always wondered why it said I had service pack 1 of Vista Premium. Are service pack 2's supposed to be better or something, cos I had/have no idea what service packs are.
Gerard
A service pack is a collection of updates, patches, fixes etc. Microsoft release a new one every year (or so). Sometimes new features are introduced, and a lot of things are fixed. Vista SP1 is the current "version" of Vista, and SP2 will come out soon. When SP2 is released, everything that has been fixed so far (through automatic updates) will be included in it. So you don't buy the same version of Vista that was built in 2007 (and then spend weeks going through thousands of automatic updates), you buy a more recent version. Or if you only have an old vista DVD, you can just install the service pack for free.
