Gerard Posted January 15, 2006 Share Posted January 15, 2006 To change the IP of a computer: 1) Go into network connections (in control panel) 2) Right click on the network connection you want, go into properties 3) in the box in the middle, scroll down to TCP/IP, then click properties 4) Manually configure the settings on the page The IPs that you're allowed depend on your router/switch settings, but try 192.168.1.5 and just change the last number if it doesnt work (try .60 or something). The mask setting will enter automatically (255.255.255.0) and the default gateway is the IP of your router/modem/switch (usually 192.168.1.1). For the DNS settings, choose the IP of the default gateway and one number above (eg 192.168.1.2). These should work if you plug the cable back in.
