Chris
Here's an array I've drawn up to show what decade I am thinking: 1960's => 2 games - London 1969 and London 1961 mission packs 1970's => none 1980's => 2 games - Vice City 1986 and Vice City Stories 1984 1990's => 3 games - San Andreas 1992, GTA1 1997 and Liberty City Stories 1998 2000's => 1 game - GTA3 2001 2010's => 1 game - GTA2 2013 70's anyone? IMO it won't be in the 70's though, so I've sort of contradicted myself... I'm expecting modern day (2007) to be the year, that brings the 2000's decade up to 2 games. Strike9
i voted 1980 becuz all the new american cars suk ass cuz they are weaker then there older counter parts excluding the corvette, viper, gt90 and the mustang cuz there still better then there older counterparts new dodge charger and camaro suk ass new dodge charger have 100 less hores power than a 69 charger same with SOME japaneses cars a nissan 300z has a v6 twin turbo 360z has a smalller v6 mazda rx8 and the new eclipse also have no turbocharger like the rx7 and the 90s eclipse did and they would be better if they had no emission equipment in the ninetys thanks to the mother fuking nature activist. now you know i know alot about cars for sumone who has never even seen these things i read about them in books yes i hate them i admit in meen they take it to the extreme i don't meen we should killl every animal we see though. Anyway, back on topic, I also think it's going to be in 2007 like in GTA3 where it was in 2001 and it came out in 2001 so modern day.
DLoTTn
Wow, i just thought of something. This is sort of a double post so sorry. But i want to say that what if GTA4 was in 1800 something. Like your an unhonest cowboy dude.
Artur
Even though your new, we've already had this discussion before, and let me tell you after you see all the downsides of Grand Theft Auto being set in an era with no cars, the main aspect of the game, you'll have to re-think your idea. There would also be no big cities but deserts, horses instead of cars, no creative missions, just think about it and you'll see what I mean. If not just search for some thread in GTA4 about it being set in the past (I would have posted a link but I can't find it right now). If you want a cowboy, you should go try GUN, not sure if it's good or not but it's a cowboy game. Putting that aside, welcome to the forums man! tilly
it should be 98-2007, like breaks from time/years after a special mission(instead of unlocking a city)(unlocking citys should be the ability to fly there not unlock it) like movies that span over a long period of time. Harwood Butcher
I think that GTA IV will be in 2007. GTA IV Part 2 will be most likely in the 70's
