  1. Couldn't resist doing this, so here you go. The Nokia Lumia 900 is a Windows Phone Mango-powered smartphone, first unveiled on January 9, 2012 by Nokia at Consumer Electronics Show 2012, where it won the Best Smartphone award in January 2012. The phone has 4G LTE support and was released in April, 2012. The Lumia has a 4.3″ display and a ClearBlack AMOLED 800×480 capacitive touchscreen. It also features a one piece polycarbonate body and is available in black, cyan and white. To install, simply replace cj_mobile_3.wdr, cj_mobile_hand_1.wdr and cj_ld_phone_final.wtd in minigame.img with the ones provided. Make sure that you have a backup ready, just in case. Feel free to redistribute, steal or make derivative works out of my mod, just as long as you give me proper credit. =) Special thanks to Cryssi, Rachel, Shannon, Tosyk, Mike Bruski, Jake, Shom and all of my buddies at American Girl Playthings, Mafia Scene and TGTAP. 2. Seems like they incorporated the Social Club tab in L.A. Noire on other games. Might give the new features a try, too.
  3. I'd recommend that you start small first by making simpler mods. I've tried making a TC before, and judging from the overall progress with most conversions, only a few of them reach a stable, ready-to-play stage.
  4. Most likely so. Unless if the mod needs something specific to the original game.
  5. What about the PC version? Was it any smoother than IV?
  6. File formats are similar, but they do vary, and OpenIV's author Good-NTS, does not have any plans on supporting console versions due to extra work, and of course legal reasons.
  7. Have you read this tutorial by Puma at GTAF? http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=418143 It's for SA but you'll get the hang of it once you learned how to port things to the game. I tried it myself with a few vehicles I converted or created, and it was 'swell.
  8. Although being that it relies on user input ala-Wikipedia it is vunerable to having the sites mis-rated.
  9. Sounds like a good idea to me. Although the threat of Activi$ion trying to out-popularise R* in the multiplayer sector seems like a big one.
  10. Web of Trust rates the site as green, though: http://www.mywot.com/en/scorecard/thegtaplace.com
  11. Just, well, don't effing screw up here on the boards. It just won't work.
  12. Yes, and no. No because GTA IV only uses DX9. In my case, at least a GT240 will do the trick, but on low-medium depending on the processor. Like what the others said, you need a new and more capable computer to run IV, especially since you're going for multiplayer. I think a mid to high-range Core i5 or i7 is good enough processor-wise. Couple it up with at least a 1GB GT240 (or better yet, a 450 or 550TI if you want a more solid config), and 4GB RAM or more.
  13. Which is why I release my mods and stuff under a free license. And yeah, there's waaaaaaaaaaaay too much red tape in the industry.

  15. As for viruses, well, if you aren't vigilant enough, or if you think that file you downloaded in Sharecash is worth a shit (which isn't - they'll ask you to fill up some stupid survey and you'll end up getting gypped with malware or a dud file). In all honesty I did pirate a gigabyte or so of media, and rarely did I encounter anything malicious. Now before you bash me for thinking that I'm encouraging it, let me tell you that while it is on the gray to black spectrum of morality, it's also a consequence of how the big media treats consumers as Llama said earlier. Why do other gamers ciritcise Activision on Call of Duty? I won't be surprised, cause they're releasing, year after year, sequels that offer practically nothing new, and they're just milking on underage kids and deadbeats for a perk or two. The incident with Spore and Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory/Conviction is another thing. Sure, piracy is rampant and you don't want to lose money, but that doesn't mean that you would waste time implementing some Fort-Knox DRM which would be cracked later on. I'm fine with DVD checks and serial numbers, I don't want another song and dance number to be performed upon installation. Another thing that Jonathan Coulton and I pointed out is that, sure, you're willing to shell out quid on a Star Wars, Doctor Who, American Girl or w/e sequel, but the problem is that it isn't available in your area. Sure, certain jurisdictions have restrictions, like Germany who dictates that M-rated games be edited out (which is silly IMO, even if Nazism was a stigma to Deutschland that doesn't mean that they have the right to nanny the youth on what they should watch or play), but this ultimately forces legitimate consumers to either spend more on importing it, or pirate the whole thing if they have no choice. I once had a somewhat heated debate with my dad on the merits and downsides of piracy, and while he insisted that "they worked hard on this", and cited those Indonesian bootleggers who made quick $$$ leeching someone else's songs into cassettes back when he worked in Saudi Arabia, as well as bashing Google for what he thinks is a way of allowing piracy to continue, I think he's missing the point that Google is just like a pistol that only needs to be used properly, and that the copyright holders who "worked hard" aren't as nice or as squeaky-clean as he thinks.
  16. Depends on the situation though, if they find it feasible to eventually give away San Andreas for free as a "thank-you" gesture for those who supported the series.
  17. I think this one's Lance at home checking out teh forums:
  18. Sounds good to me. I think they should step things up and make the game world a lot bigger - Saints Row 3 had lots of activities but the map seemed smallish, and so did Mafia II's Empire Bay.
  19. Yep, most modern boards especially that HDMI-capable board of yours usually support PCI-Express cards. You also need a stronger power supply for that card, as it needs more power than low-end video cards. Personally I'd go for an equivalent Nvidia like a 550 or 560, but that's all up to you. In my case I run IV on an Nvidia GT240 (which is meh card in my opinion as it has been overshadowed by newer models), with the game getting 20-40fps on medium. Not bad for a low-end rig like mine, but I can get better if I have the money.
  20. You're welcome dude, glad to be of service.
