  1. Thanks, glad to see that you were able to take my tip and apply it for your own use - that's why I posted. As for the Patriot, adding it that way sure beats the hell out of having to risk a level-5 wanted to get one huh?
  2. No, that's not the right answer. That bribe is between two tunnels and out in the open. So the question's still open if anyone wants to give it a shot...
  3. I wondered myself why cars like the Euros and Phoenix were never seen on the streets and looked into it. Here's what I found... According to the game's files, the Euros (and the Phoenix) should appear on the roads like any other car. However, they don't! I did some testing and was able to get them to show up in a couple ways. All vehicles are assigned to various groups of pedestrians through the cargrp.dat file. The Euros and Phoenix are listed there but it seems that because they're listed near the end of the line, they don't get picked by the game. The solution is to move them to the start, or near the start, of the line where they're found. Do this and you'll find them driving around no problem. If you want to be more exclusive in deciding who gets to drive them, you can add their names to one of the other pedestrian groups. In my case, I added the Phoenix to the OG homies so I know who's behind the wheel when I see them. As for the Euros being a tuner car, I didn't know because I'd never tried. However, I know if you do take one in, you won't be able to skin it. There aren't any for it.
  4. VCG and Outlaw, you're both right. The best answer would have been the Zombotech building. And yes, the trashcan is on that pier. A: The horseshoe is in the rail tunnel SW of the Creek mall. Q: Another tunnel question... Where's a tunnel with a bribe in it?
  5. Wanna see something weird with choppers? Get a LV 3 or higher wanted level in San Fierro. Go to the park in the northwest corner of town and stand near the south pond. Take out any pursuing choppers then wait for more. Pretty soon they'll start spawning under the terrain! You can hear them but the only thing to see is the top rotor blades poking up through the grass. Toss a Molotov or grenade at 'em and they're toast - easy prey!
  6. There are 12 Medals. Q: Which type of bike is awared for getting all bronze medals at bike school? A: The Freeway Q: Where in San Fierro can you find a Sparrow helicopter?
  7. It's in Las Venturas. The race is called 'LV Ringroad'. And to Mr. LlamaLlama's question about the car front on Michelle's shop... Is it the Hermes? Here's a bit of a toughie... Where's one place where you can find a 'Hungry Hippo' shaped waste container?
  8. Is it after CJ returns to Los Santos after completing the Las Venturas missions?
  9. To all those reading this who DL'ed V1.1 of my KartVehicle mod (in Cars/Vehicles), please get the V1.11 upgrade. This is necessary due to a glitch I mistakenly created. A few days after creation, I noticed that the fuel filler door on a bunch of vehicles was not rendering properly. It was showing up as a black square instead of being body color. After finally tracing down the source of the problem, which turned out to be due to my blanking a small square that I thought was doing nothing, I was able to fix it. Specifically, it seems the fuel door texture is contained within the 'vehicledash32' texture inside the vehicle.txd file. Those sneaky Rockstar people stuck it in there of all places! I even went one step further and rounded the corners. So make sure to get the latest update to fix this problem... Sorry about that but I had no idea!
  10. First off, your request is in the wrong forum! This is for modding not gameplay help... Goto the other forum called Gameplay & Help. There you'll find a topic with the title "Will complete any mission...' posted by zmoonchild. Repeat your request there and he'll more than likely do what you ask.
  11. All peds, weapons and vehicles are in the 'gta3.img' file. Look for them to start about 90% of the way into the file. If you use a program like Txd Workshop, you can get a preview of every texture as you're stepping through the file. All peds (the ones on the street anyway) have acronyms for names so it's not obvious right away who they represent. Look for names starting with ones like 'wfm...' or 'bmy...'. Once you find one, the rest will be in that area. As for changing the cars that show in races, you'll have to wait for someone else to give you the answer to that. I don't screw around with the scripting.
  12. Just to clear things up... I've seen that bike too. The middle of the wheels don't "glow at night"! What's going on is that is where the bike's headlights are. They are a group of LED lights (I think). It actually has 4 tires - 2 up front, 2 in back that are sandwiched together. Probably made that way for stability and so that the rider wouldn't have to hold the bike up once it stops. The motor is a V10 Viper engine after all. Good luck getting someone to make it as a game model though... I'd like to see that one myself!
  13. Something doesn't add up here... You replied to Huckleberry saying that his advice of reinstalling doesn't work. If you DO have a legit, working disk of the game, the vorbisFile.dll file is part of the normal install. How can it be that the game missed installing that? It gets put into the same directory as the main executable of the game so there's no way IF the install went without a hitch that it shouldn't find that file!
  14. I like to hole up in a few places and ramp it up to level 6 wanted so I can jump in a Rhino and drive off when I've had enough! I usually do it after a blown mission or when I'm bored... What I like to do is focus on taking out cops cuz I have a thing for 'em! I've had so many missions/odd jobs shot to hell due to them I like to unload on them once in awhile to blow off steam. I don't like to take out civvies if at all possible - it's part of the challenge I set for myself. My favorite spots for this are: the spiral-ramp parking garages in LS & LV and the parking garage north of the Camel's Toe casino. The reasons I choose them is so that I don't have to worry about going toe-to-toe and because I really don't like the police choppers! I can only take so much of them yelling,"Shoot that asshole!" Plus I like getting them all in one little group and tossing a molotov into their midst. The sounds of their screams are music to my ears! So what I like to do is go to the 2nd level of each of these places then just pick off every cop that shows up. Usually I use the M4 for the long-range shots for when cops spawn off in the distance so that they can run toward you. If they get close, I'll switch to the Spas to watch them fly from the blast. Sometimes I'll mix it up with the Sniper for an added challenge of picking them off on the fly. I switch to other weapons too - I'm not choosy. For the spiral-ramp garage in LV, I'll stay near the edge where it's clear overhead so the choppers will show and then drop them with the Heatseeker. They usually land on the cops and/or army guys and their vehicles - I like that too! It seems that only a couple will show and then they stop coming anyway, for awhile at least. Now that I've gotten 100% of the game completed and have infinite ammo, I've tried out using the Flamethrower instead (otherwise you use up the fuel too quick). With that, I can go to the edge, aim down through the floor and smoke 'em right through the wall and floor. You have to watch out for flaming vehicles about to explode though... Best to peek over the edge or watch for the black smoke to know when to back away or you get hit by the blast wave. Once I've had enough, I'll jump over the edge, take out any nearby 'obstacles' and jump in an undamaged Rhino. It's best to do this in LV because of easy access to nearby bribes. Then I burn off the wanted levels and start over again or quit for the day. When I'm in the tank, I'll sometimes head for the LV airport so I can blow away choppers all day long before quitting. The storm channels in LS are good for this too - there you can hole up just below a bridge while sticking your neck out so they'll come. In either case, you have to watch out for them dropping to close and catching your tank on fire - which is the only worry while in the Rhino. I've done this with or without cheats... This is the only time I use them simply because I don't want to have to stop to eat or heal. I use the HESOYAM and AEDUWNV (no need to eat) cheats mostly. But sometimes, I'll add the BAGUVIX cheat to not lose health. Although, it doesn't help with explosions or gunfire from the choppers. And that's how I like to pass the time and get a bit of revenge!
  15. The most obvious thing that springs to mind is that your San Andreas folder (and possibly any sub-folders) is set to read-only. Check this by right-clicking on the folder while in Explorer, picking 'Properties' then see what it says near Attributes. If there's a green box lit up left of read-only, it's set. Click on it to turn it off, then hit 'Apply'. Then try again. If it doesn't work, there may be some other background process interfering... As for Cam Hack not working, it would help if you mentioned what DLL it's looking for. I have it and it works for me BTW.
  16. I guess there must be some variations in one or more of the other pedestrian files. All I know is I'd never seen them until I made the changes. And as for "the preacher never talks", I think the only time he will is if you force him to jump out of your way. He doesn't stop to chat with other people on the street, if that's what you mean. At least, I haven't seen him do it yet.
  17. No problem. And hey, I can save you the trouble with waiting for the 'Monster' pic. I'm almost positive it's just the plain vanilla one. I saved it in the Fort Carson garage after the mission and looked at it again sometime later on so my memory's pretty good on that (didn't get hit with the bar ).
  18. Like the previous post said, the billboards are in the gta3.img file. I was just going through the entire thing the other day and I can tell you a few things... There are only some of the .txds with billboards in them that are labelled with obvious names. The words 'billbrd' 'bill' or 'bboard' are the most common. I found at least 60 files with billboards in them. There's so much reduncancy across these files, it's no wonder the .img file is as huge as it is! The easiest way to check which ones is to load the .img using Txd Workshop so you can see the textures while stepping through them. Actual names of the billboards are self-evident. They'll be named 'prolaps01' or 'homies_2', etc.. As for Michelle's racing suit, it comes in two parts, if you're after the textures. In 'player.img', they're 'garageleg' and 'garagetop'. In the shopping.dat file, it's called 'garageleg'. With the vehicle textures, I think you can only easily make new ones for vehicles that have different skins already. That would be the ones you can take to any of the customizing shops. For ordinary vehicles, you'd need to reassign textures on the 3D model itself.
  19. I take it that you mean you 'accidentally' ran him over! LOL I haven't tried or seen any of them get wasted yet so I'll take yer word on the cash thing. Always funny when they do that ass-backward jump... Kinda looks like they're about to dive into water. Too bad Rockstar didn't fix that little bug - it was the same in Vice City too.
  20. Well, see there's my problem... I was used to using rockets in PS2 Vice City cuz it made for quick kills of groups. I'll try it with guns mainly and see what happens. Thanks for that tip! And yes, I know about using bribes when possible. You won't get very far without those!
  21. I think you guys might be missing the obvious question here... That should be,"Did you go INTO her house to get the security card?". It's been awhile but as I recall, once Millie gives you the key to her house, you're supposed to go in, get the card then you'll be able to progress in the game. Maybe the guy's missing that cue cuz the yellow pointer's not appearing? I know in both the PS2 and PC version, the game will sometimes screw up and not show the arrow until you get out of a vehicle.
  22. I used to love doing Vigilante in Vice City with the Hunter where you could go on as long as you wanted without fear... My personal best there was level 500 - made enough cash to put me to the $1 billion -1 mark. However, when I tried it once in SA, as soon as I hit level-4 wanted I had Hydras all over me! Even shot a few down! So what's the trick for keeping them away? I wouldn't mind knowing so I could have another go at it.
  23. Ah! Thanks for the tip... I'd seen the center tag in the BB code help but thought it only applied to text. Will have to try it later. Learn something every day! Radion: Well, I don't know how they're enabled in your game?! It may depend on what version you're running or what mods you installed. I have V2 downgraded to V1 and in the default files, they're disabled. Bonus for you if you don't have to play around with them, I guess.
  24. Thanks! BTW, I meant to try and include a pic of them but after all the typing I forgot. Plus I'm pretty new to that sort of thing. Anyway, I'll give it a shot here and see what comes out... Alright! There you go! Can you tell me if there's any way to center an image?
  25. Just for the record, there are 3 different monster trucks... The one that appears near the LS forum, Michelle's custom by her shop and the last which appears in the trailer park southwest of the Flint Intersection. The last one IS included in carcols.dat and can be changed too. As for the Bandito, why would you want different colors? It basically has no body parts - just a frame. So the color changes would only affect the frame... And doesn't it never show up 'in traffic'? BTW, I looked into the file afterward and the Bandito was listed in mine as having other colors. Whether they take effect or not I'm not sure cuz I never noticed. I rarely bother with that vehicle. The Hotknife would be a good candidate for color changes. I can't stand the one ugly paint job it does have. Been thinking of reskinning that one for personal use myself. Too bad I don't fart around with 3D editing or I might take you up on the challenge!
