Here's my friend other very unbalanced PC:
ATI Radeon HD 4870
750GB SATA HDD
4GB RAM
And the weak link:
Intel Pentium-D @ 2.0 GHz
Will it run?
I think not, without a new CPU, but I'm hoping it'll still work because of the massive GPU and RAM.
I say yes. The specs are obviously overkill, so it may run it on max...
No, I was asking why it WASN'T WORKING. Obviously yes, the specs are great, but he gets an RM320 Error.
Any idea as to why one of my friend's PC is getting the requirements too low error with this?
Gigabyte-GA-EX58-UD3R
Intel Core i7 920 @ 2.66 GHz OC'd to 3.33GHz with a good aftermarket cooler
12GB Triple Channel DDR3 RAM @ 1600 Mhz
2TB SATA II HDD
300GB Velociraptor (This runs IV)
800W PSU
BD-ROM Drive
EVGA 896-P3-1258-A1 (GTX 260 Core 216 SuperSuper Clocked)
Vista Ultimate x64
Make sure that PC can handle it, because having an NVIDIA GPU doesn't necessarily mean that your PC will be able to handle it.
Especially if your card's model number has the numbers 4 or below on the second digit, e.g. 8400, 7300, 9300 (although you can probably get 10~20fps on a 8400 provided that you play it on minimum).
Yeah, to make it playable you really need an 8600GT or above.
Just for fun here are my school's new PC's:
Dell OptiPlex 755:
DVD-RW Drive
Intel Core 2 Duo E6550 (?) @ 2.33 GHz
2GB RAM
ATI Radeon HD 2100 GPU
DVI LCD Monitor @ 1280x1024
XP Professional
Didn't look at the HDD, but the PC's they bought last year were 80GB, and they were OptiPlex 745s.
Because there's totally nothing to use computers for except gaming, right?
LOL, hate to this say this, but great point.
Yeah, the 4870 1GB is better, but with his extra budget, he could get this card for $20 more:

EDIT, fuckshit, that was deactivated. The AR isn't worth the $260. Yeah, go with the 4870.
Do you notice your PC slow down? Task Manager may be fucked. Try using RMClock and see what it says. Also monitor your temps, if they go up, then you know that it really is at 100%.
Agreed with some others on here, occasionally when my internet just stops working for unknown reasons, 90% of the time, a reboot will fix it, and if it doesn't then I get out my Gigabyte CD and reinstall the drivers. Those 2 steps haven't failed me yet.
But if they did, I would bring a hammer to my PC.
For those of you out there that have 64, post specific Hardware and Software that you have found to be compatible or incompatible. The Microsoft 64-bit Compatibility checker sucks and has very little on it. Please give specific details and use proper grammar.
This will be a useful topic for those looking to upgrade to Vista x64.
Well, not a ton of point in helping him now, he's banned.
But, I would reinstall the OS and see if it fixes it. Some viruses invade the OS itself, and reinstalling can sometimes fix it. Happened to me.
I'm assuming this won't work. But will this laptop have any chance at all of running IV with everything on Minimum?
XP Professional
Intel Core 2 Duo 1.66GHz
2GB RAM (Actually, it might be 1, but I think it's 2)
128MB Video (Shit, this'll make it not work......)
