I enjoy European Football, or, as we call it in the (soon to be) Socialist States of Obama, Soccer.

Yes, generally to play a GTA Game you do need to have it installed.

I don't know a lot about this stuff, but I'm sure there's a GPU tuning program out there, I've seen them, just can't remember what they're called. Have you searched thoroughly through Advanced Display Options to see if that option is buried somewhere in there? I'm running XP, so I don't know an awful lot about Vista.

Yay! 3rd post in a row!!! Oopss..... OK, on topic, screw the dual-chip card, I don't have the money. I'm gonna stay with my 700W OCZ PSU, looks good, and I'm gonna go with this card: (Very good bang for buck) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814121291 I will have 4 18A 12V Rails. Enough for this card and a quad-core CPU? PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...OCZ%20OCZ700SXS My Build Cost totals up to $2105 right now, but it'll be under $2k if I buy my $125 speakers before I build the system, which I am likely to do, so I guess I'm good.

I have a 15" CRT from 1999 that came with my original Toshiba PC Specs: 366MHz Pentium CPU 5.99GB HDD Onboard Video, probably about 4 or 6MB, can't remember Total 32MB RAM if I remember correctly Windows 98 Dial-Up So yeah, my monitor's seen a lot. And what the hell is a quid? Is that British Slang for pound or something?
-
OK, why 2 topics about the same problem? Get a better PC. 2.5GB RAM, >384MB NVIDIA/ ATI Card; e.g. 8800/8600GT 512MB, ATI Radeon 3870 512MB, Core 2 Duo >2.0GHz
-
And you need a Core 2 Duo @ 1.8GHz, or a Pentium-D at at least 2.5 GHz. Pentium 1.8 won't do. And really, the whole PC won't do very well. I Recommended for Vista: 2.5GB SDRAM 2.0GHz Core 2 Duo >384MB NVIDIA/ ATI Graphics

Yeah, that would put me back over budget by a bit, so you're sure that the 700W won't work? And I'm gonna say no to that one, it only has 1 12V Rail internally, and has gotten bad reviews about not even being able to push 800W. And I may have to downgrade something else, because my PC is at $2,115 right now. If I buy my speakers prior to the build, I'll be at $1,990. $10 left in budget. Since the 700W PSU was only $60, theoretically I can afford a PSU of $70, and you cannot get a good 1000W PSU with that. I may be able to push my Dad into $2,050, but barely even wants to spend $2,000 at the moment. So I guess for now, I have to find a good 1000W PSU with at least 4 25A 12V Rails for under $120. Ha. I'm also in another dillemma called my PC will be plugged into a 15A outlet, in which we also have many other things plugged into, such as my Monitor, speakers, printer, Router, External CD Drive, and probably other stuff too because I don't know what else in on the circuit. EDIT: Found this PSU, looks great, perfect fit, but really expensive. it'll bring my budget up to $2,170 even without the speakers. Perhaps I'll save up my $5/week allowance and pay for the distance it goes over $2k. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16817331004 However, I still have the problem about the wall-current. Especially since this once draws 15A. Major problem. Maybe I'll plug it into a circuit where there's nothing else plugged in using a really long extension cord. Can somebody give me a compatibility check with my Case, etc.? It says it supports Dual-Core CPU. Will it support Quad-Core? It looks like it should, but I want to be sure. EDIT: Screw this, I'm gonna stay with the 700W and find a good single-card GPU. For lack of budget.

Will this PSU run my system and my 4850X2 ? I will be running 1 monitor, and I would like to utilize both of the cards to the fullest performance they can give. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...OCZ%20OCZ700SXS On a Quad Core/ CrossFire System: 700W PSU, 4x18A 12V Rails It says that it is CrossFire ready, but I'm afraid it won't have enough power, as the Sapphire website tells me that I should have at least a 1000W Power Supply. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...hire%20100260SR If not, can somebody please direct me to a cheap (Under $150) PSU that is at least 1000W and is ATX, has all the proper connectors, etc.? PC Specs: NEW_PC_BUILD.doc Also, are the 4850X2 and the 700W OCZ PSU even compatible with the available PCI-E connectors?

Well, everybody here will be pleased to know that I have listened to their advice, searched for a better GPU, and I found this one, which seems to be an amazing deal, which I will therefore get. You will all be very surprised to know that it's an ATI. Perhaps it'll run IV with everything on MAX..... (Or near MAX @ 1920x1200) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814102813

EDIT: Video Card Change!! I found this card, others here recommended it, good reviews, free shipping, only $50 more, $20 rebate, etc. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814130372 YET ANOTHER EDIT: Is this Video Card worth $30 over the one I just mentioned? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814102813 And LOL, even after I decided on 700W, over 600W, all of a sudden I'm fearing that my 700W OCZ Supply won't even be enough..... I think it has 4 20 or 22 Amp Rails. Hopefully enough. EDIT: Shit, only 18A each. Enough for a Quad/Crossfire System? This website told me 704W Recommended: http://www.thermaltake.outervision.com/Power If I Overvolt the CPU (I shouldn't have to though) it told me 715W. Also, since this is a dual-chip card, will GTAIV/ FSX see both chips and all 1GBs and utilize it all? Or will it only see and use one chip and 512 MB? Is the GTX260 a dual-chip card?
-
LOL, thanks. Ha, yeah, that might even beat mine. (Maybe)
-
Maybe, but no. You have Dual-Core, and a 250GB HDD. Plus, at least the video isn't onboard. The RAM though, definetly qualifies you to be here.
-
Then you probably can't do it. Get GPU-Z and get some info on your card, it might tell you whether you can share RAM or not.
-
It has a driver for XP..... Well, none for Vista, hmmmm....... I really don't want to have to buy a USB joystick..... I'll look for a PCI Card with a game port on it. EDIT: How about this Sound Card? Bad Reviews on sound quality but I'm gonna stick with my onboard sound and use this for the game port: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16829130001

OK, for audio I have Onboard Realtek AC'97 Audio. When I was 8, and knew nothing about PCs, the company that built my PC put in a SB Live! Sound Card at my request, so that I could have a gameport for my keyboard to use in Cakewalk Music Creator. Up until about a week ago, I used the SB for audio. Now, after re-installing the drivers, etc., I'm back to the AC'97 for audio, I like it much better. However, I still have my SB Live! Card that I use for it's game port. Currently, I have my midi wires, and some old joystick plugged in. In Windows Sound in the Control Panel, I have MIDI enabled for that card, and all audio out/recording enabled in the AC'97. So my question is, can I use my joystick via game port in FSX, and my onboard AC'97 for audio simultaneously? (Techincally, I'll be using FSX when I get my new PC, and using the onboard audio that that, and putting in the SB Live! PCI Card for the game port. Same scenario though.)

Not exactly a terrible PC..... Spaz's was more like it, but this is actually a pretty good PC.

Will my PC run the game with these settings and hardware at a minimum of 20fps consistently without me shutting down every other background process? How will it look compared to my PS3 Console version at 1080i on a 61" TV? You must of came from the future. Absolutely. March 2009. Well, it's not poisonous or anything, just pretty cold at below -200 degrees F, and therefore could do some damage. You're Welcome.
