Damn, beat me to it. Well, we simply didn't deserve to qualify, that's a fact. Croatia played superbly, kept the ball well and were lethal with their shooting, whereas England played fucking abysmally, gave the ball away frequently and were average at shooting. We were given a lifeline before the game, and we shat on it. Now, Mcclaren has to be sacked, along with the FA. I can't see where the next England side is coming from, it's a very dark day for English football. The players don't care anymore, so why should I. Good luck to Croatia, they can win it. Bad luck to Northern Ireland, it was a big ask to beat Spain and they didn't do it.

Pro Evo 2008, I'm changing the starting line-ups for The Premiership teams so they're all correct. Also, the option file I bought from eBay is great, the guy has even added a German League to it which wasn't there before.

There's a mag that has a forum - Play, and they say that Creed was a big disappointment. I'll quote them so you can read for yourself: That post was by Samuel Roberts, who's a writer for Play. Some people are saying it's decent, but flawed, others are saying it's a disaster. I haven't played it so I have no opinion yet, but it doesn't make me want to get the game, that's for sure. Another problem is that sometimes the A.I guards run straight up to you shouting 'ASSASSIN!' even though you're walking along like a normal civilian, not pushing anyone around, and the other problem mentioned was automatic climbing. That last choice might seem silly, but I think it was mentioned you'd have to press buttons to climb walls, but that isn't the case now. EDIT: Oh yeah, there was also a horrible collision detection system, and the game became tedious all too quickly. So, not good. Here's a few more quotes to round off the gloominess: ^ Said by Craig Gilmore, who's left the mag now I think. ^ And one more by Samuel Roberts. There are more quotes, but that's enough for now I think.

I despise the fact it's so short though, if it had at least 50 songs, I would be happier. Even if they were yet more unknown songs by anonymous artists, at least there's more choice and more possibilities. I'm looking forward to GH3 though, it will easily match GH2, at least for the last gen consoles. For the next gen, or current gen, consoles, the downloadable songs and boss battles make it a must-have IMO.
-
Eh, I just haven't been using it. It's not nearly as good as people think it is, you can't sample every song, most songs are duplicates, and it doesn't have an extensive catalogue of music. I'll still join the group though.

Pro Evo 2008 still, starting to build up my perfect squad again. I sort of cheated to do it though, at the end of the season I lowered the difficulty and everything else to the lowest level in order to get them. I love the Playlist editor and the Track Record thing, I'm using some of the old PES songs for a few of the modes, and I always keep an eye on the Track Record thing to see how I'm doing. I think I have about 93.3% wins after 100 odd games on Professional, which is decent.

So, how is it? Have some of the more violent kills been taken out? Opinions please.

I'm gonna get it for PS2, but it's not out in Blighty yet... I actually felt it was already out, for some bizarre reason. @ Mpilk, if it's the same as Rocks The 80's, then I'm taking it back, because Rocks The 80's is SHIT, don't bother with it. I wasted £30 on it.

I still see it coming out in March/April time, we all know they can be very secretive about some of their games, eg L.A Noire, which has almost disappeared off the face of the earth, and Alan Wake. I remain hopeful. If they do choose to delay it, then you'll just have to put it in the back of your mind and focus on other more important things.

I play my dad most days on PES 2008, he isn't very happy with how the new one plays, he much prefers PES 6. I prefer PES 6, but only because the multiplayer isn't broken, the 1 player for 2008 is so much better, Master League is great. My mum also played TOCA Touring Cars on PS1 ages ago, about 10 years ago, and she wasn't using the directional pad (this was before the Dualshock days), so she kept crashing into the walls. When she realised she had to turn AS WELL AS accelerate, she got worse, somehow, and gave up minutes later. We're not really a gaming family at all.

Haven't had a chance to comment yet, I did when it was still being constructed, but it obviously wasn't finished. It looks nice, as you'd expect, but there should have been some projector lights underneath it to make it stand out, and as you said, we've seen the image countless times before. A new ad of the 2 police officers, or the sniper would look good.

This has already been done.

Would you rather get the stunt the first try? I'd love to, but that process is just the way it goes. You have about a 10%, or less, first time pass rate, the game is just designed to be hard. If you could only see some of the sections, you'd be equally as angry/frustrated. I've only played the demo, but there were 3 levels featured - a lava one, an ice one, and another I can't remember. The lava one was quite easy, the other level was okay, but the ice level was really hard. You have to time your steering, because it's on ice you'll obviously slip and slide all over the place, and doing that whilst trying to get over a ramp is very difficult. Also, you have to go close to the explosions you activate yourself, and then carry on, and because most of the time you find yourself swerving towards the explosion, then that puts you off for the ramp jump and you're horribly out of position...

I'm just downloading the AVG one, I have Norton Antivirus and it's a piece of shit, doesn't block any pop-ups I'm receiving, and it always says that it's found and automatically deleted a virus every time I turn on the computer. Hopefully AVG will be better. Thanks for this stuff, saves me having to look for it.

I've played the demo on PS2, and the way the game works is like thus: Play, fail, restart, learn course layout, fail, restart, fail at last corner, restart, fail, restart, complete. It's very infuriating. It's a lot more forgiving than the original though, and believe me, the original had obscenely long loading times and a '3 strikes and you're out' system, from what I can remember. Worth a rental, but be careful of not snapping the disc in half.

^ It's a very 'Niche' genre, not a lot of people like the long cut-scenes and slow, methodically paced action, which is a shame - they're missing out on one of the greatest games series of all time. Most of the British gaming public are into either 'Urban' games, or 'Movie tie-ins', which shows they have no thought process at all when it comes to buying games.

Pepsi Max for me, I think it's much better tasting than anything Coca Cola has to offer. I primarily have Diet Coke, but I got bored of the non existant flavour so now I stick to Pepsi Max.

It's a matter of preference, but if you're used to a console that you've had for years, then just get it for that console. If that means the PS3 version, then go get it. BUT, the 360 version has advantages like extra content. What this entails, I'm not sure, but it'll more than likely be some extra missions and maybe a few small islands. If you have both consoles, then the 360 version would probably be the better choice, I'm personally getting the PS3 version because I'm used to the pad layout and I haven't played an Xbox 360 before.
-
It also happens to me, but I just ignore it. I can just use the History bar anyway. I still have a few niggles remaining from changing my Firefox settings, but it's not a huge irritation, just a small one.

1000st post now does that mean a custom title? I'll soon see. Yep, that means I'll have to think of something decent each week...

Vice City Stories Wins "Best Handheld Game of the Year 2007"
The Bossman replied to Chris's topic in Vice City Stories News
I'm not surprised at all, it was clearly better than LCS, and set in probably the best City in the whole GTA series IMO. I have it on PS2, I haven't tried it on PSP. EDIT: Wow, still the last post in the topic for over a year now. -
Me neither, it would make a change from the normal layout carried over from game to game. Looking forward to the actual boxart, I should think it won't differ too much from these.

OK, mine in order: 3rd - Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty. It's not that I don't like this game, I just never really liked playing as Raiden. I found his mission tedious and boring, and constantly going to a node to update your radar was a bad inclusion. There's only one area I liked of his mission, and that was Snakes mission on the Tanker didn't last long enough, I thought it should have been at least 3 or 4 times as long, but there you go. 2nd - Metal Gear Solid 3; Snake Eater. A tough choice for 2nd spot, but this one just gets it. I thought this was a magnificent game, and I enjoyed every minute of it. The cut-scenes were gripping to watch, and were crucial if you closely followed the storyline. I didn't like fighting The Pain, the lizard guy running around and jumping from tree to tree, because on higher difficulty levels he was probably the hardest boss to beat. All the other fights were relatively easy. 1st - Metal Gear Solid. The first MGS game I bought back in '99 when it came out, and it is the most memorable. It was full of moments you just cannot forget, I recently went back to it about 2 months ago and I remembered pretty much every cut-scene, every tone of voice, every set-piece, and most of the codec scenes after about 4 years of not playing it. It's just stuck with me. The bosses were the most varied so far IMO, and the best, and the music was also good, not necessarily the best in the series though, that belongs to MGS2.

Did anyone see at the bottom of the second pic, it says 'FAKE GRAND THEFT AUTO IV SETUP, MADE BY: DIMANOX' - Link from bottom of screen. I guess this topic was meant to raise a laugh, but I don't laugh at anything as stupid as this.

People to randomly jack the car you're in, maybe people throwing bricks at police cars in certain areas because they're fed up of the way they police the area, and stores being held up occasionally. More fights to start in the street as well, like in the 2nd trailer with the guy kicking the other guy on the floor, and maybe the odd firefight against police as well, like in San Andreas when you saw 2 criminals escaping from the cops whilst shooting at them, that was quite unexpected. Just little things like that that increase the realism would be good.
