The 3.8's don't have great horsepower numbers, but their torque is where they win. Also the torque is low in the power band for a car engine.

So I had a small mishap with the seafoam. It sucked a few tablespoons in then stalled ... then backfired ... then my intake manifold had an explosion and blew a plastic elbow off. I let the car sit for a few minutes. Barely started and then it ran like crap for a while, but it seems to be okay now. The rest of the seafoam will be used up in the next few fill ups.

Is the blazer much bigger than the S10?

Bondo! half of my car is bondo! Actually, just the wheel well in the right rear is. Started to rust out. Looks real nice - smooth and all except the paint doesn't quite match. Saturday I changed my spark plugs. Stupid front drive V6s, I had to lay on the engine to do it. Then I changed my fuel filter. Today I went to do that seafoam stuff. Wasn't able to suck enough into the engine before it stalled. I can't operate the throttle with my left hand and hold the tube with my left hand at the same time. Made a freakin awesome cloud of smoke.

On the 3.8 the block is the same, but there are a few different head designs. The rear drive 3.8, the Taurus 3.8 and the SPI Windstar 3.8. I was looking at a new 08 Taurus yesterday. I would have took it! AOD is one of the most bulletproof transmissions out there if I recall correctly. I can see why you would want a six speed, wide ratios suck for racing. Here in new york if you fart in your car 3 weeks before the inspection it will fail. Damn treehuggers.

Went to get the Taurus inspected today and it failed. Service manager came up to me and said that I had broken front springs, and the rotors were too rusty and grooved to pass inspection and the right one was cracked, no inside right pad material left due to the rust and hanging calipers. I watched them do that they were using all sorts of oils and rust penetrators and hitting the thing and couldn't get them off. Afterwards the other service manager asked me if I knew about the brakes. I told him that I did and that the car pulled to the left horribly when braking - because there was no right front brake anymore.
