Once you start distributing to the entire city, just assume you're going to loose 2 fronts. When they come under attack, concentrate on the others for maximum profit unless you're right by the one under attack. Make sure your balls meter is full when you start so you can use blind rage if you do engage an attack.

This would be a good one for someone wanting to get started in making mods. You'll need a player position tool to figure out the locations of the top & bottoms of the ladders. You can also get front doors & rooftops for access to rooftops. Once you have your co-ords, open an IPL file (yes, you can add to existing files) & add the lines. Deji - You seem to be pretty good w/ getting co-ords, if you can give me a list I can probably make a little time to put something together & you could use that until you get your animations.

I think SA:MP uses the same assets as single player, but doesn't support modded versions (different players have different mods. Like the early days of HALO when little kids running "God Mode" pissed everybody off).

GTA IV Millionaires Club launches - Social Club update
Urbanoutlaw replied to Chris's topic in GTA IV News
I expected a little better than that from R*, kind of disappointing. Currently just over $1.6mil cash, just opened Gamboiani (old guy in the hospital) missions & only have a few missions before I hit 100% complete. -
Gerard mentioned an audible "clicking", so yeah, that's mechanical failure which probably wiped out the files connected w/ auto updates. Best to just shut down the machine & we'll see you in a few days. If you got your machine through a dealer that's covering the warranty of the HD, they can also probably transfer data rom the defective drive when they do the swap. If not, get an external HD case & you can do it yourself via the USB ports. Either way, let it sit until it can be fixed. Back to your original post - I know this sounds kind of dumb but on mine (XP Pro) I shut off the auto updates. Is that an option on Vista. I know it doesn't fix the HD problem, but it could get you going in a pinch.

The only thing I can think of is that your Steam version had corrupted files. Since you paid for that, you should be able to contact them & get another download, however I have no experience w/ them & no idea how good they are on such issues. One of the reasons I've held off on buying games as direct DLs, w/ a disc you have all the files on the disc. Give it a day or so & one of the other members w/ experience w/ Steam DLs will probably pick this up.

For ladders consider this, use ENEXs for them. They work in an IPL mod so you wouldn't have to start a new game & installation would be fairly easy. It wouldn't look as nice as climbing a ladder in GTA4 but would save having to make animations for ladder climbing.

Have you ever entered a sex shop or bought something there?
Urbanoutlaw replied to JustADummy's topic in Members' Lounge
You should see my place around Christmas.... Never bought the GF a dildo because I make sure she's properly taken care of. If she wanted one it wouldn't be a problem, the need has just never come up (all pun intended). I have to, she buys me beer & GTA. -
!?!?!? What is this, the history of EA Games?

Gang heat also affects how much you pay for product in your street deals. I think it also affects your interest rate at the bank. Completing Enforcer missions cuts your gang heat, basically intimidating other gangs into leaving you alone. Don't forget to call for one of Tony's cars when you're done, before you return to Tony. Put all the henchman's weapons in the trunk & stock them up for Tony. Driver - Pipe, AK & Uzi. Enforcer - Shotgun & Grenade Launcher. Assassin - .45 & Sniper Rifle.

Remember step 1 (my previous post) before you start. Look in your GTAVC DATA folder for WEAPON.DAT, open it & scroll down to "Rocket", locate column "F" & change the entry from "1" to "4". Now your multi launcher should fire 4 shots before reloading. Happy hunting.

Another thing to keep in mind, the right controls your "camera" (or is supposed to). Good for a quick look around. Welcome & enjoy.

Really? Isn't that the one where you play the assassin & shoot the pimp in the boat? You just have to wait him out & he is usually in your basic Power Boat. Thanks for the heads-up on how to do instant distribution, I gave up on going to the islands to get it started. But then I use the gunboat & set a waypoint for the shortest way back, sometimes running due South. To date I've never lost a load doing it that way. Reconsider the Enforcer missions, easy $$$ & shuts down the gang heat pretty quick. Do a few & pay the cops off a little at a time.

I thought "Peds Attack" was the one that screwed up the missions in LV & later. I'll have to dig into it later when I'm not wrapped up in GTA4. Do you have 100% & what cheats did you save?

STEP 1: BACK UP EVERY FILE YOU PLAN TO EDIT!!! Trust me on that one. Start here, it covers cars but the same applies to changing weapons - http://www.thegtaplace.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=3124 Once you change the model, you'll need to open WEAPON.DAT & edit it. If you have the mod I think you do, a new entry for the RPG should be included. EDIT: S-V posted while I was typing, but he's got you on the right track. PS: Welcome & enjoy, check out the site & read the rules if you haven't already.

The only school you HAVE to complete is flight school & that only requires you to pass w/ Bronze to unlock the Airstrip missions. The other awards (& Schools) count towards 100% completion & gives you some cool vehicles. If you're going for 100% complete, remember not to save after using cheats. That will block you from 100%. PS: Welcome & enjoy. If you haven't already, take a few minutes to check out the layout of the site & read the rules.

Grand Theft Auto IV Coming to PC
Urbanoutlaw replied to Harwood Butcher's topic in GTA IV Discussion + Help
Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to lay to rest the PS2. PS2 was an epic console & served us well these past years, but like all good things, it's time is at an end. Let us remember fondly the many good times we had w/ our late friend, Seeing places like Vice City, Mazda Speedway & it vision of New York & LA. PS2 has touched so many lives & enriched us all. Farewell old friend, you are gone but never forgotten. SHORT VERSION: PS2 IS DEAD. Any new GTAs will just about have to be made for a next-gen console or PC if they are to be taken seriously. Chinatown Wars is trying to get the DS market & will probably eventually be ported to the PSP but I think R*/TT is done w/ the PS2. Keep in mind they aren't releasing LCS/VCS on PC (sucks, I'd like that) & considering that the PS2 is obsolete, I don't expect a PS2 version of GTACW, although if there is I'm on it. A PC version of GTA4 looks like a given. Considering that, any speculation on the specs? -
Alright Pewterschmidt, in the closet w/ Master Herbert! I'm getting awfully sick of you, Pewterschmidt. grumbled Master Herbert. Time to go, bye!

Is it your computer or your mom's? If it's yours, she needs to respect that leave it alone. I'm an old-school prick & I get that. Also, is it a laptop or desktop? My desktop is set up w/ an 80 gig I use for a boot drive & a 200 to keep the games, mp3s & other stuff. The 80 leaves plenty of room for whatever I want to do but if I get a virus, I can just reformat it & reinstall the OS (XP Pro). Best of all, it's all internally mounted so your mom wouldn't have a pesky cable to annoy her. Something to consider.
-
Also make sure your media player meets the spec (see the README file). If in doubt, download Windows Media Player 9 from MS (free, legal) & you should be good to go.

F-150 much? Apparently not. All this for only $400k.

If you don't mind starting a new game, you could use a script mod that stocks the police department in LS. Tested, works. http://www.thegtaplace.com/downloads/file.php?id=2891

^^^ "Felix, whatcha' got meng?" "The Blood Brothers need help, they'll pay..." Keep doing deals & distribution. Once you have the Babylon Club, you can sell your accumulated grams for $117 a gram (doing deals drives the price up). Skim earlier pages for more detailed strategy. My last game was retired w/ a $1 Billion screenshot (also in this topic).

As I recall, the test ends when the back wheel hits the ground. What worked for me was to push forward an the left stick & hit the "handbrake" (right upper trigger) for a second to get the back wheel off the ground. Continue holding the left stick forward until you clear the cones. I think the award is based on completing the test in a set amount of time so build as much speed as you can before you get to the cones. Keep at it & good luck.

GO LLAMA! GO LLAMA! IT'S YOU'RE BIRTHDAY! Chris should give him a Faggio from the store.
