Part of keeping you contained early in the game, you had to build swimming skill & you couldn't do that until the map opened. VCS was based on VC & R* probably re-used a lot of resources, including the main script. SA style would have been a major re-write (don't forget the automatic 4 * warrant in SA), whereas this way was more efficient & required less work. Again, speculation.

Damn half-assed ports of PSP games to PC! Back to topic.

As I was going through new posts, I noticed a very haggered looking familiar face in the ad spot at the top of the screen. Heeee's baaack - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0462499/

So, is there some kind of prize attached to this? Just curious.

TM's strategy is pretty close to my own, I also tried to run him into ped traffic when I had the chance.

Really? If we are supposed to have all that Iraqi oil, then why Am I still paying $3 a gallon at the pumps (triple over last few years). You don't live here, so I'll cut you a little slack. Before OPEC decided to cut production (specifically to raise the price of crude oil) Gas was around $1 a gallon. Americans had more money to spend on things like video games, microwaves & BMWs. Gas has tripled in recent years & caused a round of inflation because everything we use here gets transported at one point or another. The increased cost of transport & energy costs are passed on to the consumer who now has to pick between the aforementioned luxuries & necessities like heat or gas for a car to get 10-20 miles to work (not all public transportation runs 24 hours a day, may or may not get you to your job. This time of year, it's too cold to walk very far). Since we're not buying as much, it will eventually affect the countries where the imported goods are bought. OPEC didn't just screw the US, they got everybody, just not as quickly. If Bush DID have control of the Iraqi oil supply & Americans in general found out, he'd literally be crucified. Instead of looking for ways to blame Bush, be pissed off at OPEC. US history w/ Saddam Hussein - Yes, at one time the US & Iraq WERE allies, although I think it was during the Reagan administration. The enemy of my enemy logic & at the time Iran was the enemy of both Iraq & the US. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iran_hostage_crisis Hope that clears up a few things. PS: Full point to Jace, either you pay attention in school or know how to use your search bar.

SPECULATION - The betas look a little too much like the cars they were based on & R* didn't want to get stuck paying royalties. Also, details were probably removed to make the original console versions run smoother.

Maverick has always been a 4-door (GTA3, VC, SA & LCS/VCS) that's why I switched it w/ the Sparrow in VC. I can get a screenshot if you want.

Probably just a detail (for cop car), like the VC maps in SA trashcans.

Has anyone ever gotten to Level 366 on Vigilante?
Urbanoutlaw replied to zmoonchild's topic in GTASA Gameplay & Help
Because 1 minute real time = 1 hour game time (1 hour = 2 1/2 days) & CJ has to eat once every 24 hours. Accounting for sleep & other breaks, he probably played a total of 48 hours. By the above formula, CJ's mission lasted 120 days or so. -
You madcapper! The above was Chris' response to my "Show Us Your Guns" topic. I think you just moved me off the radar w/ this one.

What's the point of modding a car?

Clarification - cars modded at an in-game garage (Loco-low, Transfenders & Wheel Arch Angels). -

I met for the player. Took 3 days, wonder if the rest of the house can leave my PC alone that long? -
Oops. They forgot their parachutes.

Wish I'd seen that before I submitted my award nominations (was gone far a few days), pretty good. Especially liked the Hydra in LV.

What's the point of modding a car?
Urbanoutlaw replied to missik.'s topic in General GTASA Discussion
Good question, haven't tried. Experiment & find out for sure but I think you can. Transfenders may work like the Pay & Spray, resetting the car to it's original condition & wiping your previous mods. -
The International Spam Society would like to wish you a happy new year. See ya space cowboy.....

You might get me on the newer cars, but I grew up w/ the Old School US cars. Glad to see the Voodoo coming back, didn't care much for it in VC, but it's one of my favorites in SA. I usually have at least one saved somewhere.

Suggest you consult w/ MrLlamaLlama, quality work.

The Pentagon is a much shorter structure so the damage would be contained to the impact area. It was also designed to be the US military headquarters so I would expect it to be a little sturdier than most buildings. Besides, a jetliner going 400 MPH sounds a lot like a missile, minus the warhead. Cuba, for what? Mambo music & pre 1958 American cars? I'm sure it's a nice place to visit & I like the few Cubans I've met (one involved in the Bay of Pigs incident), but what could they possibly have to risk a war over? In the coming years I expect relations to be officially re-opened between Cuba & the US.

Still sounds good. Keep 'em coming.

FDNY lost something like half their people in the 9/11 attacks, NYPD also took a hell of a hit. I'd expect their view to be a little distorted in light of that. Not counting Japan's half-assed balloon bombs & shelling an uninhabited beach in WWII, this was the first direct attack on US soil since the war of 1812. We had gotten the mind set that no one could ever do it & 9/11 shattered that, people still deny it could happen here. Okay, simplest terms on how they took down the towers. Al-Queefa (not worth my time to find correct spelling) specifically stole planes destined for long trips to ensure they had full fuel tanks. This results in a huge fire, which makes heat. In turn the heat weakens the steel framework inside the concrete. The weight of all the structure causes the walls in the impact area to give way & everything above drops 10 feet (1 floor). This weakens the walls below & basically turns everything above the impact into a giant jackhammer. Simple physics. The impact wasn't what brought down the towers, they stood for some time afterwards. It was the fire that did it. This is what bin lauden tried to accomplish in '92 w/ the Ryder truck in the basement garage of the WTC, but failed to generate a sufficient fire.

I didn't bother this year because I got busy & didn't take the time to come up w/ a decent pic, so I'll give my vote to Bear. Russian/Italian & into GTA, that's hot!

What's the point of modding a car?
Urbanoutlaw replied to missik.'s topic in General GTASA Discussion
I'll use a modded car to cruise around in, take dates (except Michelle) & collecting weapons & money. For missions I'll use HPV 100 (cop bike), Taxi or something parked nearby. Mavericks are good when you can get 'em. -
Looks like we found a winner, aznn's is pretty hard to beat. (Dude, you did it wrong.)
