Silberio
Aaw dammit, hard one...its because of the reflection of the water, and the light, that makes it blue, and during the night, there isnt enough light to make that, wasnt it? When started WW2?
CroScorpion
6000C, but differs from place to place, time to time. Why is the sky blue by day, and black by night? The blue color of the sky is due to Rayleigh scattering. As light moves through the atmosphere, most of the longer wavelengths pass straight through. Little of the red, orange and yellow light is affected by the air. However, much of the shorter wavelength light is absorbed by the gas molecules. The absorbed blue light is then radiated in different directions. It gets scattered all around the sky. Whichever direction you look, some of this scattered blue light reaches you. Since you see the blue light from everywhere overhead, the sky looks blue. And as Silberio said at the night their is not enough light for that kinda of reflection. World War II started in 1939 and ended in 1945. Q: What is the true color of the sea? Edited May 15, 2007 by CroScorpion
