Kitsune Inferno
And I'd get a Wii long before I get a PS3, mainly because of Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Star Fox 64 on the Wii Store.
Red_91
Agree that the PS3 costs too much, but if you look at it as a blu-ray player its very cheap, if you look at it as a games console, its very expensive. But one things for sure more people want blu-ray and blockbuster are focusing on blu-ray. Heres the link - Blcokbuster to focus on blu-ray
Pandora
To be honest, I really don't give a s*** about HD-DVD and Blu-ray players. Cause at the moment they are still rather unneeded. I'll get one when they just cost 150 EUR or something. Cause until now you can't even buy all those HD movies here anyway (well, hard. Only at really big stores), so what's the use.. @WnN2: You mean Lylatwars?
Kitsune Inferno
Yeah, I mean Lylat Wars. I forget that Star Fox has a different name in Europe. I also do not care about the whole format war. I just want a movie that'll work fine on a 27-inch CRT.
Red_91
Well if Blu-ray does win over HD-DVD and blu-ray will probably win, this means that the PS3 could sell a lot and overtake Wii and 360 in sales.
Kitsune Inferno
I'm sorry, but that more than likely won't happen. The Wii is cheaper and has an assload of exclusive games, the majority of them being great. As for the 360: Halo 3, Mass Effect, and Too Human. Red_91
Your probably right but at least Sony won't lose Billions over it, Blu-ray has a lot riding for Sony, but it is good to see the likes of BlockBuster supporting Blu-Ray.
Pandora
I don't think people will spend 500 to 600 EUR on a ps3 when in a years time a Blu-Ray player is probably only going to be 200 EUR.
Red_91
It wont go that cheap especially within a year, its only dropped about £50 - 75 in some places, and this is when the PS3 came out. Blu-ray if it does win will last about 5-6 years at least.
MrLlamaLlama
The thing is, we really don't know which format will win. TBH, i saw blu-ray movies popping up in stores long before i did HD-DVD, and in my eyes, the Bluray has more appeal. Fair enough, if the 360 supported HD DVD (from the beggining, not w/addons or extra hardware) then Bluray might have gone down, but i think in the end bluray will prevail. (Fine WnN2, rip me down for this, but it's opinion, and don't involve the porn industry, that card is getting old)
Red_91
Eventually blu-ray will support the porn industry but other major film indutries are already backing them anyway.
Pandora
Blu-Ray isn't going to win if they don't lower their prices. An average family isn't going to spend more then 250 EUR on a player. For most 200 is actually already quite expensive.
Red_91
Prices really don't matter if a lot of companies are backing it, prices dont even come into it, I can see blu-ray going far. I got a free blu-ray DVD off PS for signing up on PSN, do 360 owners get something if they sign upto XBL?

Plus, when you buy the system it comes with a bunch of HD trailers, some demo's, and one or two Xbox Live Arcade games.
Highwire
I think the PS3 is the best man. 360 is OK its pretty good. The Wii doese'nt really seem to Entertain me that much I don't really like so If it were between those 3 I would say PS3.

The Wii doese'nt really seem to Entertain me that much I don't really like so If it were between those 3 I would say PS3. Reasons? Such as "the PS3 is the best with regards to power/performance, however it is not being fully realised, plus it lacks exclusives" " the 360 can equal the PS3 on the basis that it's fanbase is larger, as is it's games lineup" "i CBA to think up another, but you get the idea"
Spaz The Great
NO UActually it's a new GTA. Read moar, kthnx. Um no? Brand new game, much? Ok, ps3 had a few exclusive titles. But almost all games for the Wii are exclusive. Like The Zelda serie, Brawl, Galaxy, Metroid ect. Games that mark Win. They don't mark win, well not yet, lets see how they fare, for all we know they could turn out to be the biggest pile of crap saying that though so could the exclusive for the PS3. Zelda marks most epic WIN. It re-grabbed my attention full-force while GTA was getting boring after ten minutes of play. Oh, did I mention this was OCARINA OF TIME for N64? Twilight Princess for the Wii is even better. It's an amazing game. Super Smash Bros Brawl is going to have SOLID FUCKING SNAKE in it, HELL YEAH! And Metroid has always been cool. Zelda is already out, in case you were wondering.
Red_91
I know Zelda is already out but you can't expect one game to make you outsell the 360, that all I was saying. Super Smash Bros. Brwal will probably be good as well though my point was you don'y yet know how these games will preform.

But we can have a damned good guess, i've been playing the original SSB since it's UK release, and since technology has evolved alot since then, AND a whole new control system... It really looks like it's going to kick some ass. @spaz, yeah metroid owned, but when it comes to the original SSB, no -one touches captain falcon... Pandora
Rofl, I hated that guy in the original. In Melee he's ok. And they made Ganondorf to slow IMO. Prices really don't matter if a lot of companies are backing it, prices dont even come into it, I can see blu-ray going far. I got a free blu-ray DVD off PS for signing up on PSN, do 360 owners get something if they sign upto XBL? Uh, like, What the hell? If people can't or don't want to spend that much money on a player and are fine with sticking to DVD then no matter how much companies support Blu-Ray it won't be sold all that well. And are you implying that one is better of buying a ps3 instead of a 360 just cause you get some free Blu-Ray movie with it when you might not even like/want it or already have seen the movie? 7.50 EUR for theaters. Saves you lots of money.
Red_91
No all I was implying is Sony does like sort of offer things to its customers for absolutely free, I was surprised myself when ti came through the post. And the DVD was good, it was Casino Royale. About the blu-ray thing, if companies are supporting it more and more DVDs will be produced on blu-ray hence the customer will have to buy a blu-ray player.
Pandora
IMO Casino Royal was kind of a let down... Expected far more. But that's not the point. I have to agree. In general Sony is a good company and I myself have got loads of Sony stuff at home. Just think they failed with their ps3.. And the customer doesn't have to buy anything. The company's adapt to the customer, not the other way around. I'm not going to spend like 500 EUR on some stupid Blu-Ray player when I just can watch the movie in the Cinema, much more fun their anyway.
Red_91
But in the cinema it will actually cost more, watching it once will cost you averagely £5 where I live and you only get to watch the movie once. Never mind but I still think blu-ray is going to win even if the PS3 doesn't outsell the 360 or Wii.
