Chris
So the World Cup is now underway in South Africa, good start for them but unlucky not to win it. Who are YOU supporting in the World Cup and why? Of course I'll be rooting for England... given the fact I am... English If your country isn't in this year, who are you cheering for? Talk about the event, the matches, anything to do with the World Cup in this topic!
Alvas.
I am supporting Argentina, since India got an entry into the world cup only once and lost that too. I missed today's ceremony too. Damn!
Chris
Apparently it was shit anyway I actually missed a fair bit of the first game too but saw both goals so that was ok. Also, fuck Argentina... sure they have a good team, but being English I can never support them, you know... Maradona... fucking dickhead
EvoLuTioN
Supporting Germany, England and a bit of France, in that order. Its a shame Ballack's out, I guess Chelsea players are jinxed. Drogba was injured in the practice the other day and the thing with Terry. The First match was pretty good, Missed the opening and bout 28 mins of it. Bout and hour and half to go for France Vs. Uruguay?
Chris
To be honest I haven't been keeping up to date on what teams are on form right now. But I think I'm correct in saying France aren't that good anymore. Don't really know anything about Uruguay though... match could go either way I guess. 1 hour til kick off now. EvoLuTioN
True, Game's pretty slow atm, The French seem to be struggling. Also Over 9000 offsides. Bah Another Draw. Edited June 11, 2010 by EvoLuTioN
Scott.
Supporting England, being English . Great opener between RSA and Mexico earlier, great opener, I only wish France v Uruguay would have ben of the same standard .
Miles Pedro Prower
Of course I am supporting Brazil, I don't like soccer THAT much, but in the World Cup the country literally stops to watch the Brazil games... Let's go to the 6th win! Althrough I don't think Brazil'll go too far with that shitty team Dunga got...
Huckleberry Pie
I'll be watching it, if only that the mainstream here in the Philippines cares more about football and this World Cup.
Ivan
Eh, Portugal probably won't make it past the first phase, so I dunno who to root for.
Guest
Looks like Macedonia didn't make it in this year. But Italy is there, I'd be cheering for them.

Chris
Dunno what I will do if we lose to the fucking USA today. That would just be ridiculous, and frankly, if that happens, we don't even deserve to be in the World Cup. Football is our game, we invented it... if we get beaten by a country in which football isn't even popular... then... yeah... :/ So, England better make me proud to be English today

Ivan
The US has a pretty solid team, they're way less talented but they're damn good. Really looking forward to tonight's game.
Blur
U.S.A of course! I know my countrys chances are slim but I'm still going to root for them. Yeah so GO USA!

Scott.
Lol, major reality check for England I think. Saying that, in 1966 we drew our first game 0-0 to Uruguay so there still may be hope yet!
Kirbs55
Obviously rooting for the USA...Expecting a knockout in the quarterfinals, but realistically wanting the semifinals... That tie with England was something else. Green is an idiot, but I will give him credit for that stop on Altidore, I almost crapped myself when Altidore broke away. I was also surprised at Rooney being shutout for most of the game, but those last 15 minutes he really turned it on. But let's be honest guys, who is going to win? I mean, I want your obvious picks (Brazil, Spain, England) but let's throw a darkhorse in too. Obvious Pick: Spain Darkhorse: Netherlands/Ivory Coast (if they get Drogba back, if not, never mind)
Alvas.
Still I support Argentina....don't know about England though, seems to have a good chance for them.
Kirbs55
I honestly believe Argentina is overrated because of Messi. Not to take away from Messi, who is phenominal, but after their first game, they didn't look up to par
Pandora
Netherlands played their first match today.. Didn't think is was all that great. Rather boring in fact, but who knows... they surprised me last time, two years back, when they beat Italy and France. A bit weird though.. every single time they scored today, I wasn't looking. Either staring at my foot, getting myself something to drink or just not paying attention. Oh well..
