Dazza
Grand Theftendo I was on Grand Theft Wiki and i found this page called Grand Theftendo so im making a topic about it. Heres whats on the page: Grand Theftendo is an Grand Theft Auto game that will be released for the Nintendo Entertainment System in the year 2007. It is considered to be a toned-down version of Grand Theft Auto III with only Portland available in-game and the aspect of the game is more mission-oriented. It will be compatible with FCE Ultra but compatibility with Nesticle is unknown and older emulators like fwNES will probably not work with it. Differences: Money will be represented by dollar signs, not bills Missions will be drastically different due to the limitations of the NES There will be no radio The game will be top-down instead of 3D rotational I was reading it and i was like WTF so does anyone here think its true or just a joke made by the people at Grand Theft Wiki, and heres the link for everyone clicky Edit: I dug in a little more and it said i was going to be a freeware game Edited January 11, 2007 by Dazza

Chris
I really hope it doesnt it's just a waste of money for r* and i dont think anyone still has a NES Rockstar aren't making it, dumbass, it's all the work of a dedicated hobbyist. Loads of people still have a NES. Really wow some idiot thought they could make a GTA for a old system. HAHAHAHA Idiot? WTF kind of retarded comment is that. From you again, your second anal comment in the same topic. Porting an entire game yourself using dev tools you've made yourself is not idiotic and is in fact an incredible achievement, no matter if it's for an old NES. I think you should stop making these cretinous comments or just leave. I see the official site is down at the moment, it does look like he's kinda lost interest, but it would be great if he finally finished this project, it's pretty awesome. I don't know why some of you are calling it a hoax, it's painfully clear that it's real. Obviously you haven't ever been on his site because he has pictures of all the tools he's using etc, and the cartridge and what have you. Hopefully he gets it back up soon. Chris
3 month bump! From an admin! I know this topic has been pushed a few pages back since it was first discussed, but I did a little digging around today and added as much information as I could find to the Grand Theftendo article on Grand Theft Wiki, including a couple of development screenshots! There's also a couple of external links to the creator's (Brian Provinciano) website, as well as some gaming sites which covered its progress a couple of years ago. Unfortunately the official site, grandtheftendo.com is still down, but I checked and Brian does still own it , so hopefully he will bring it back to life one day. Spaz The Great
I'd download it and give it a shot. Would be worth a look, definitely. I remember stumbling upon this a long time ago. Definitely interesting.
tilly
a guy actually made a game engine of his own, making a grand theft auto three:volume two for the nes. it was a helecopter-view game and i think it was made about 3 or four years ago. you can look it up if you want. Huckleberry Pie
Hmm, if only I have a flasher a blank NES/Famicom cart and an NES clone, or an emulator, I would play this, though it's a bit oldschool. Mr. Vercetti would be interested in playing his own game in his time, where the NES and the Atari was cool... Would some other developer (Rockstar in particular) would interest in taking over the project? Or maybe giving it a GPL open-source license?
