Well, what are your specs. The cause of the game being slow it's because of the High Poly's that the game have. It eats memory and the game crashes.

It seems like R* has made those ugly LOD's that appeared on III, VC, SA, ect. http://www.thegtaplace.com/image.php?img=g...reenshot_27.jpg - See the top left part, if Low Quality, or even Very Low. That means that GTA IV loading times during the game are too fast.
