  1. I haven't joined yet, but from the prompt that appears there only seems to be one person who I assume is Dmac... Wish we could spread this around somehow, especially those of us who may still talk to some of those old timers.
  2. Really wish this would pick up so we could get some of the old timers back together. Not enough of us visit here to be able to see it
  3. I did not expect to see these names in this random ass time I decided to log back in. Hi! I can't believe I still have my old sig, God dang.
  4. Let me check.. can confirm, am alive. Also, I'm not Dmac but now that I'm here... I think of this place from time to time, I saw your account on Twitter again and decided to drop by to see what was what.
  5. Everything is indeed well! Hope it's the case with you too. Yeah, whether it be the official MTA server or the one I had for shits and giggles, it was honestly great fun.
  6. Stopping by to say it's quite nice to see some old names hanging around still, even if the last post was a month ago. I have been registered on GTAForums for longer than I have been here, but back then I ended up choosing to participate more often here as things seemed a bit less overwhelming, we were more of a close-knit community. I still remember being a part of the Mafia group here in the forums and having great moments here and there on MTA. But times have changed indeed, for a varied number of reasons. When the forum was on its heyday we were all much younger than we are now (oh god all my shitposts), I think that is one of the main reasons the forum has lost its touch. People started growing up, having other priorities, barely having any time to play GTA, and some of them probably moved to more attractive communities as they had a lot more to discuss and a lot more people to interact with as TGTAP started emptying out. Regardless, though, it's nice to see a lot of you are still alive, I have talked semi-recently with Llama and Scott, Alvas has left a comment on my profile a few weeks ago, and it's very nice to see you still around, Rem!
  7. It looks like it has finally happened, as sad as it may be. http://ca.ign.com/articles/2016/01/12/grand-theft-auto-lead-developer-leaves-rockstar Leslie Benzies was the lead developer of GTA, it's a really great loss for the gaming community, at least in my perspective. And situations like these make me think that who knows if a lot of the GTA Online controversy (microtransactions, lacklustre content, absence of a long-awaited SP DLC, etc.) is caused by Take Two and not by Rockstar themselves. Maybe everyone's hating on the wrong company - even if there's still the possibility he fell out with the Housers for whatever reason. Although he may have left for other reasons, this fits way too well in a long dated rumor that said a lot of the GTA veterans left after V's development, because they didn't agree with the direction it was being taken. Seriously sad day for me, thanks for all the hours spent on GTA. And for me, this might just be the death of GTA, because I don't think anyone will be able to do it as well as him. I can only hope so.
  8. Yesterday, once I knew about the news on GTAForums as soon as they were posted, I decided it was a good man's move to message Rockstar about it, given Yeardley had had the spotlight on him by Rockstar many, many times. I sent this to their Mouthoff: It's really not the most formal of things but I decided to raise some awareness. Rockstar seems to have noticed today, which is an amazing move by them. Rest in Peace, Yeardley.
  9. It's beyond me why you keep coming here just to complain about being banned in GTAForums and then unbanned or whatever, Slamman. Do you really feel the need to vent your "desperation" in other forums that are completely unrelated to GTAF just because you see them as tyrants? Jesus, just let go, and if you like it here, good, just don't come complaining over something that repeats for reasons that deep inside you know why they happen. It is a sign of weakness complaining about other things in other forums, it's exactly like your mum not letting you buy your favourite toy and then you run to your uncle crying telling them that your mum didn't let you buy it like that makes a difference.
  10. The GTA V/GTA Online Patch 1.12 has been released this morning, as a preparation for the updates and DLC of this spring, and fixes a bucketload of exploits and glitches. https://support.rockstargames.com/hc/en-us/articles/201956787--4-8-14-GTAV-Title-Update-1-12-Notes

I noticed, and I didn't apply because I noticed there was already a Brazillian portuguese translation, and in basic terms, it's about the same.

I've also been good, just haven't been around too much; we should really get all the older members together again one day.

Where did you uncover that mention of GTA V coming to PC, was that fabricated??

  12. Well, we all know that media, especially local media who aren't as bought as national media, all want to have the most shocking news and "studies" possible to impress people, when that's not always the reality. They just grab a load of "studies", put them together, and the conclusion always is - videogames are bad for people, videogames influence people, etc. when that's not really what is going on. For example, someone who kills another person "because of a game", can't be blamed for doing so because of the game. If he even had to kill someone to see how it was like, he definitely had to have other mental issues. It aggrivates me when the media blames videogames for everything, not taking into account other aspects of sociology and psychology, just the games themselves hurting people's minds. It's ridiculous. Even more annoying is when pseudo-psychologists come to TV shows and news programmes to talk about how bad videogames are for children, teenagers or the society in general, it's just fearmongering.
  13. It's not the most organised thing ever, but indeed. It's quite good to reflect on what we've been through until now, it's been a pretty harsh one and a half years, even more so when I am a PC player. Haha, doesn't matter you can still post it somewhere if you want jk hehe
  14. So, it's that time of the year. That time of the year where finally, the game we were all waiting for is getting released. Many drops of sweat were produced, a lot of anxiety and hype was had from trailers, gameplay trailers, screenshots, previews, delays, trolls having gripes against Rockstar and simply... the time spent waiting for this. It's been good, guys, since we've listened to The Small Faces' "Odgen's Nut Gone Flake" for the first time in the trailer that marked the start of this incessant hype train, to when we listened to The Chain Gang of 1974's "Sleepwalking" in the amazing "Official Trailer". Over this time, I couldn't let this pass without some sort of recognition. With all the time frames Rockstar gave us amidst all the hype, I just had to log them all. Time frames for trailers, previews, trailer delays due to Hurricane Sandy, infamous "few weeks or so" sayings and even leak dates that marked a change in the hype train. It has never crashed, it has just accelerated, and I'm here to say that I did log all these things. The hype consumed me to the point I wanted to make a time table on GTA V asset releases, and that's why I made this topic. The Rockstar Time is a project I have been making for some time now, and shows what we waited for and how long Rockstar told us to wait for. The possible pain some have passed by waiting longer than what Rockstar implied, but we're now here people: GTA V HAS OFFICIALLY RELEASED IN EUROPE
  15. I had an idea to start it up that just disappeared off my head, it had to do with the official TGTAP crew. Probably some advertising there?
  16. Cutscene audio was leaked. It's not in chronological order so it'll be hard to see what's the ending and what's the mid-story.
  17. It won't be possible to run the game but a crapload of assets have been gotten off the files, including TV shows, the R* logo introduction video and cutscene audio... This is quite sad from Sony and for Rockstar.
  18. Stuff is being leaked everywhere, from soundtrack to actual story spoilers. Several forums have received a nice warning from Rockstar to remove everything, so don't proceed to post details here or the same will happen.
  19. Though Leslie Benzies has said they are toying with some old material. I really want to see what comes out of this, but unfortunately if they do that I don't think it'll be free. Leslie talked about the chance of small microtransactions. On the other hand I am absolutely flabbergasted and shocked at the multiplayer. It's extremely dynamic, fun, puts a whole new meaning on "Crews" and multiplayer, and you know what it makes me remember of? Multi Theft Auto.
  20. The blimp will also be available for who pre-orders the retail game apparently, my opinion on that is that it's a texture pack and nothing else. And the stunt challenges, from the wording "Single player Stunt Plane Trials let you take on additional aerial challenges spread throughout Los Santos and Blaine County." it looks like it'll just be an additional stunt challenge besides the others we might have in the game. I might not be getting any of the editions, but I'm not too worried about the digital content. We should be proud R* hasn't turned into EA putting game-changing content (25% faster recharge in abilities is hardly game changing as they're optional) and microtransactions.
