  1. i think i posted this here before (there may have been an "engrish" thread) but here it goes again
  2. Your points about his brother and his "world apology" tour are pretty ridiculous in my opinion. Who are you to speak for his family, and what his brother wants? I've read plenty of articles about his brother, where he expresses his content with his life in Africa. You must realize that not everybody is interested in a life of greed and excess. Source: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6333496 As for the apology tour, I'm really proud of Obama for doing all of that, and it's exactly why I voted for him. Just because he goes and visits leaders (and bows to them HOOO NOOOO) doesn't mean he's completely condoning their actions. He's proving that America is a more civilized country which is capable of humane actions even when its opponents may not be. He's building something called a foreign policy, which America has been lacking for quite some time. I don't have much to say about the rest since I don't give a crap about economics.

    College

All these questions are highly dependent on what school you go to. Obviously Harvard is a lot more stressful than most other schools! I can speak for my experiences though - I attend the University of Southern California. Well first, for the UK people - in America there isn't really a distinction between the words "college" and "university," they mean the same thing. Somebody said up there that college is typically 2 years, but I have never used it in that sense - that's a community college. We use the word "university" to mean the actual institution, while "college" is used in a more general sense, just meaning your years as a student in community college and/or university. College is school with freedom. Nobody forces you to do anything, and your success purely relies on your own motivation and self-will - nobody gives a shit if you're not doing well in class, it's your fault. You sign up for mostly classes that you enjoy, and you basically form your four years. There are plenty of opportunities to get involved and pretty much no matter what, there are people who will share your same interests. I'd like to say that college lacks all the bullshit/drama/idiocism of high school, but if you take a step into a Fraternity or Sorority house you'll see that it's not true. The good news is you can choose to avoid these people if you'd like! As for stress - yes and no. It's totally up to you how much stress you'll have. I know people who are in five clubs and sign up for everything - these people are stressed. If you balance your school and other activities you should be fine. You'll find that in college you have loads of free time between exam weeks You can get a scholarship by applying to them - ask your high school counselor, that's their job! There are two types: merit based, and need based. So if you're smart and poor then hot damn you're in luck. Yes you have to pay for a dorm, silly. You also have to pay for a meal plan if you live on campus. Dorm life is pretty friggin expensive considering the room they give you. It's a nice experience but if you don't want to blow your money on it, then it might not be a good idea. And you're usually not forced to have a roommate. There are single rooms available in university housing, and you can specify you prefer those. You can't always get what you want, though!

  16. Mac fo life Well, no not for life but for the last four years of my life. Also I feel you, it looks hard but once you know what the letters are and once you actually use the keyboard a couple of times you see it's not so bad. It's the same as learning to type in English like I'm sure you had to do in grade school The Armenian layout is A LOT harder though because there are 38 or so letters in the alphabet, and there are basically two letters for some English ones. Two letters for e, v, t, k, p, r, j, ts/tz sound - it gets a little crazy. On the OS X layout you have to press ALT + a letter to get the second version.
  17. Yeah Chris you're right, you have to memorize some keys. It's not really that difficult, though That's the keyboard layout I use, as you can see the [ ] \ - + keys all become letters. I just hit Apple (Control) + Space to switch between keyboard layouts, so it's still pretty convenient. I used to copy and paste letters from the Armenian alphabet Wikipedia page whenever I needed to write something - that was a fucking pain. Then I realized I could just use a keyboard
  18. It's not a translator, it's a keyboard. You add the keyboard layout to your options, and memorize the layout for whatever you have. I use US English, Russian Phoenetic, and Eastern Armenian. The Phoenetic one makes it a little easier since the Russian layout isn't structured like US English, but the Phoenitic one puts keys where I'd be used to them (Russian equivalent of 'p' comes up when I press 'p' for example)
  19. do people still really speak church slavonic. man its terrible
  20. I'd tell Chris how I really feel about him
