I hate teenagers that don't know shit about politics in the first place and think Obama is awesome just because they've heard his name in the media. Sure, support Obama. No problem, but you better have a reason too. I know many who think he's awesome, but they can't say one thing Obama stands for. That's what annoys me. He's like a celebrity. Treated much better than others and in most cases for no real obvious reason.

TWIMTBP means Nvidia also gives them support for optimization. Just look at Crysis, it just works better on Nvidia cards en CF does jack in Crysis and SLI helps quite a lot. So there

I got laid. Dreams... Ah, fuck them. Further clarification: I dreamt I was getting laid next Monday. I'm going camping (yes.. just camping). Organizing it myself and got 3 friends coming with me. However, tomorrow (was going to be done today, but we couldn't) we (a friend and I) are going to invite some hot chick to go with us. She's pretty cool and stuff. Pretty easy person to get along with and.. she's hot. Chances she comes with us are very, very slim. Haven't actually talked with her for a year now and the last time she said something to me I didn't recognize her and just said "Who the fuck is that" to my friend. Other then that, we're camping in a place that actually spells rape. No light, nobody comes their and we're only going there at 9 PM. So she's being invited to join three guys she barely knows to go camping in a forest. So I dreamt she did come and I got laid there (while the others were out fishing). Chance she comes is practically non existent, forget getting laid.. Bringing quite some alcohol with me though (I'm in charge of it. I don't want anyone getting really drunk. Hopefully I won't actually get drunk myself then..) and that might just boost the chances of her coming. You know those type of girls... party like people. I'm not, but hey.. More for us if she doesn't come (: And hell, it will be fun anyway.

It's the OEM's decision. What matters is what they think is the best for their target audience. I've got 4GB and Home Premium (bought myself, though it's an OEM version. So it was my own decision). Initually Vista only could 'see' something like 3,5 GB. With service pack 1 that has become 4. But don't be fooled, it only confirms that you have that full 4GB installed. Effectively it's still that same amount, which should be around the 3,5 GB. I choose 32bit because of the driver support not yet being optimum. Stuff like printers don't all yet have 64bit drivers for them, so I decided I'd do with 32bit for the mean time. Getting 64bit when I upgrade to Windows 7 (about half a year after it's release. Hopefully it will be a bit more polished than Vista when it was released. Though I have to say I love Vista after SP1.) But, uh.. yeah.. Dunno why we're even talking about this since 2 GB should be enough. Any new computer comes with 2 to 3 GB and it is very easy to upgrade. No real problem their. I think most will have a graphic card problem (CPU usually isn't that much of a deal, though they do bottleneck high-end cards).

Ok, it isn't Crysis. We know that... But if you call these sceens low res, what do you call the console version? And I must have missed something, what do you guys mean with the oil effects? @Chris82: GTA IV is going to be a TWIMTBP title? I know SA was, but I don't know if all R* PC titles are.. In general I'm happy when a game is a TWIMTBP title, but that's because I'm an Nvidia user. Probably would hate if I had an AMD card. Edit: well, decided to look at the picture at full reso. I mean, looking at this: "1920x1200 pixels - 332.55Kb" I'd guess that that might be the problem. AA doesn't seem to be enabled either. I hope GTA DON is right at that it's just like that because it's still in progress..

Uhm... drivers.. Companies like Creative tend to give you a "fuck you" when it comes to 64bit drivers. But the situation is improving... 32bit can do 4GB. But effectively this will become about 3,5 GB. Linux can use someting called PAE (or something like that... can't be bothered to look it up) which enables it to have a maximum of 6 GB or something. Well, at least more than 4.

Yeah, it just looks like a 100 times better than the console version.. Console version was extreemly blurry and that really was annoying. I am genuinly impressed with these graphics (compared to consoles that is). I hope they've tweaked the physics though. IMO they were slightly off... No. But their's a topic about this in the GTA IV section of the forums, you might want to check it out.

1- Llama is right. It just gives you better graphics (DX10 mode) under Vista. 2- Chris82's point 3- I'm quite sure you haven't even used Vista. I have bought it. Yes, I didn't just get it, I bought it. And I wouldn't go back to XP, ever. The overall experience is better and I find it a very pleasant OS to use. Try it yourself, one day. Somehow it's 'cool' to hate Vista.. bunch of stereotypes.

McCain... Not because I think he's all that awesome, but because of how unsuitable I find Obama. I'm I the only one who's actually taking this thread serious? Even though I would like McCain to win, I see Obama winning it all. He's actually being treated like celebrity and I just can't understand why. SuperPi + CPU-Z screeny or it didn't happen. You'll have to have the score under 10 sec with 5 GHz. I get 11,47 at 4,35 GHz. I have had it at 4,4GHz, but it was unstable. Went of to camp and when I came back I suddenly couldn't even get it over 3,2 GHz... Even after using Dice. Probaby because of the very hot NB and SB though.. My room is rather was rather hot the last time I tried (like just slightly under 30C).

Riiight.. They're awesome. Anyone planing on building a computer soon, this card is gold. Of course, it isn't the fastest, but it does Crysis on high/very high at 'good' resolutions and I can't see games that are coming in the coming year being (much) heavier on your system than Crysis is. You'll need good airflow though. A friend of mine bought it and it does get rather hot and since it isn't dual slot, you need some airflow to get rid of the heat. I could talk about other cards which have more power than this one, but the point is that I'm very, very sure the 4850 can do GTA IV with everything max, 4x AA at 1680 x 1050. Quite a chance you can even crank up the reso and play with extra stuff like Anisotropic filtering enabled ect., but I won't make promises about that. Edit: Deleted next post. Was a double post, thought it would merge... Medium/low like? What do you mean, rated at 5GHz? If you could, please give a CPU-Z screeny. I think you'd be able to play it fine with a other graphic card. I mean, on higher settings. Your system should be able to play GTA IV, but you'll probably want to up a few settings and I'm not sure the 8600 will be able to handle that. Also depends on the resolution. If you're gaming at a pretty low resolution it might even be able to do high. That is sarcasm or what? If a graphic card uses DDRx (x being a 2 or a 3) it usually isn't a good sign. GDDR3/GDDR5 is used for good graphic cards. That simply will not work. I could lie and say it might, but it just won't. If you're a person who doesn't mind absolutely crappy frame rates it might, but I highly doubt it will be able to get it working at 30FPS+ Too little RAM for Vista. Pentium D is quite old and slow compared to C2D's and Intel's graphic solutions are absolute crap. I'm sorry, but that just is the harsh reality. Personally I'd go for Sapphire. You'll never go wrong getting a card from them.

Same for Windwaker and I think for Ocarina too. All of them basically. Just is the way they do it and yeah, it actually sucks. And I hereby declare the Wii to officially be dead. Good. Cause the controls do suck. I wouldn't call it the worst, it is pretty amusing. But the controls just kill it. After having PC as the platform of choice for quite a long time now, keeping a car on the road is a nearly impossible task. To make a comparison, it actually feels as accurate as steering with a penis and I'm actually serious. You'll see the car and I'm sure everyone has once just thought that it looks as if it's being driven by a women who's about to give birth. There aren't many games that have as many bad points as GTA has. Though I do have to admit, there aren't many games that have as good good points as GTA has. When it boils down to it, GTA IV is a fun game, but with many, many, many flaws. And actually, I can't even think of a game in my collection with as many mistakes, flaws and/or stupidities.

That'd be like as crap as you can get I mean, really, a 8400 GS There isn't a weaker card on the market that I know of. I'd take some Asus mobo with a E8400. Stock cooler should be enough for you. Add a HD4850, 600 Watt PSU from a good brand (like coolermaster), normal ATX case and go for some 800 MHz mem, 4 gig, 4 modules. Remember, you won't be upgrading the CPU. Nehalem will be coming end of this year, so quite some LGA 775 CPU's will go EOL. Now that's just a quick idea. If you wish, I could come up with a list of all the stuff you need with links to all of them and full specs ect. But that's only on demand, cause I don't want to just waste my time on something you aren't ever going to read. He's having problems.... 8600 GT is a 1,5 year old midrange card that wasn't even all that great. I wouldn't advise him to get that, he'd be much better off getting a 9600 GT or one of the new 48xx cards from ATi. @Llama: I actually don't think Intel will be able to pull off Larabee (first gen at least) right. They'll have difficulty entering the market. But who knows... ATi has struck gold though. Thought the R700 would flopp too, but it turns out to be great. I mean, 150 EUR for better then 8800 ULTRA performance, that's great. Though on the other hand.. G80 seems so far away... yet peformance is still pretty close to it's level. Shame nVidia couldn't succeed in making the GT200 like the G80 was. Oh, and OP, make up your mind which party you want to support. I support nVidia, obviously, and I really regret not taking a mobo that could do SLI. I love the mobo I have, really. But then I wanted to buy an extra card and then it hit me. I can't effin do it. Anyway, saves me a PCI slot though. Wouldn't have place for my soundcard if I'd add another card (dual slot). Oh, and do not get a X-fi soundcard! It's great, when it works... But mine just gives me problems, so don't take the risk and just go for something else.

Am I the only who doesn't really adore Steam? I love Steam because I don't need to insert the CD, but on the other hand I just like having the box of the game on the shelf. Somehow.. Other then that, it sometimes just won't start up my game. I'll be waiting and waiting and waiting.. but nothing will hapen. That's like once every 5 times, which is just to often actually. Though it's better now then it used to be, it still has quite some problems here and there.

After the ESRB putting it up on their site at the as a PC game it sort of was coming.. Too bad they did it so early actually.. Anyway, fuck yeah, they better improve the graphics. Hopefully, they'll make this the superior version
