  1. It's going to be hard for them, for the next 6 months or so. Profits in all other areas are struggling, the PS3 is one of their major selling points now. If they're still losing money on their current most profitable product, then that's not very good at all. I presume they'll pull through, most companies do.
  2. Danyl was too cocky, although he was one of the favourites to win. The public didn't warm to him that much, probably because of his cockiness. I would have liked Olly to win, he's a good entertainer, not the greatest singer but could easily sell lots of records. I don't think he had the chance for his best songs on the show, if he did he would have probably won. Joe was note perfect from start to finish, not surprised he won, but I preferred Olly.
  3. Double post, but there have been loads of problems with finding matches recently on MW2. Some people have even reported being put into a private match with people they don't even know. A patch is in the works however. There's lots of other bugs and glitches to be fixed as well, someone posted this list on the IW forums. Apparently these are for the PS3 version, although I haven't experienced any problems at all to be honest. Only slow matchmaking, which is annoying because it takes too long: For the last glitch there, I think that's to do with your internet connection. Mine only freezes when the connection has started to get laggy, so a quick reset and reconnect and it's fine again. Anyone else experiencing problems?

  5. I reached my first prestige about 90 minutes ago, and I see as in COD WAW you unlock additional class slots as you go through the prestiges. If memory serves me right, I think it's prestige 1, 2, 4, 7 and 10 to unlock all the class slots. I'm definitely going to have a lock-on weapon for taking down helis and AC130s, this time. Best to get rid of them immediately before you get hemmed in. I'm getting to grips with Search and Destroy, and am getting better with each game, and I suspect within 2 or 3 months I'll be playing in Hardcore regularly. Anyone know what they've done for teamkillers, or not? Is it just an automatic kick system like in WAW?
  6. I'm on Prestige 0, still got a few levels left to get to level 70. The AK47 is so much better in this game than COD4, I've used it a few times by picking it up on multiplayer, just blows them away. I don't think I'll go all the prestiges, because I don't have the time, and also it takes far too long anyway. I might go 3 or 4, I'll pick the picture I like best and then stick with it. @ Charger, you know that the Javelin glitch you were doing is causing people to get banned on Xbox Live? Sony aren't doing anything about it which is ridiculous. I won't do it, it's just pointless and is no fun to do, and requires no skill whatsoever.
  7. You'll get used to it. My advice, always, to new players, would be to play in Private Matches online, either by yourself or a friend or two, just learning good hiding spots, getting used to the layout, etc. I'm doing that quite a lot now because the maps are just huge and have so many hiding spots, it's a lot harder now than it was before. Also, when you do decide to go online and start ranking up, make a new account or use an existing account and see how you get on, and then when you're ready, use your main account. I just did private matches, instead of using another account. It's sort of worked but my K/D could have been over 3 if I'd bothered to do that.
  8. Happy B-day TGTAP, I've been here since 21st June 06, so that's about 41 months I've been coming here. I see no reason to stop either, I like this place.
  9. I think sniping is hard, especially if you don't have Stopping Power, although in the Hardcore modes this doesn't matter. There aren't many maps to snipe on apart from Wasteland, really. Bit of a shame, I used to snipe a lot on COD4. I also find the 1 claymore in MW2 annoying, because it replaces your grenades and the detonation can be delayed if you have Scrambler Pro as your 3rd perk. On COD4 they were essential for holding a position, but not any more. My K/D keeps going up and down, I haven't played that well in recent days but it's still over 2.10, I think 2.12 which is OK, but could be better. I agree with the camping thing as well, I barely camp, apart from on Wasteland. I prefer to keep flanking them with a silenced weapon, getting a few kills together before relocating closer to my teammates. It's also boring waiting for enemies to come near your location, I prefer to be in the action as often as possible. My classes recently have been the UMP silenced with red dot, and stopping power, and the ACR silenced with red dot, and stopping power again. I've never used the Riot Shield because all you gotta do is use a flashbang, then go behind them and knife them, easy, or go for their feet under the shield, or use a grenade launcher. I use other classes, occasionally LMGs but mainly assault rifles and sub machine guns.
  10. I've joined a few, and a few people have joined me too. I usually end up on a different team though, and when up against Chargr, he usually has the host on his side and therefore the better connection, while me and my team are struggling with 1 or 2 bars. I might create a no-scope account for this soon, it's possible to be as good as COD4 for scoping, but it will take lots of practice. Already loads of videos on Youtube of them. Also, zzirGrizz has uploaded his first MW2 video, might wanna check Youtube for it.
  11. There's loads of great new games and stuff on there now. If I didn't already have MW2, I'd order it from Lockerz, along with Assassins Creed 2. They have AC Bloodlines there as well, looking very nice indeed. If only I can ever get on the site when they have new stock in.
  12. Fuck off. Ohohohoh, I'm shocked and appalled.
  13. I used to play guitar a long time ago in practice sessions with a teacher and several other people, but since then, nothing. It was basic stuff, nothing advanced. I might pick it up again in the future, I'd love to play an electric guitar and play my favourite songs and show off to people.. I'd say I was a 4 or 5, not that great. I used 1 finger with the guitar, and didn't use the plastic thing, so essentially I was shit and a n00b.
  14. Spirit, not spirits. TGTAP isn't relying on ghosts to help run the forum. Work is the main factor, it's much more important than a forum. I suspect it'll get busier over Xmas, then another lull for a few months, then back up again. EDIT: That was a particularly destructive day, a few things kept breaking which now need to be repaired.
  15. You have missed my point entirely, sir. If someone cares about you enough to get you a gift they should know what you like, want, and need. In the past nine years that I haven't told anybody what I wanted for any holiday I have only taken two items back. In both cases it was a dvd that both my parents happened to get me. It was an opinion. And either your parents are mind readers, or you're really easy to please.
  16. So do you have a retail copy or an illegally downloaded copy?
  17. Your PS3 can play all PSX games though. ? I was playing FIFA 10 earlier, with my dream team and seperate option file, is fun.
  18. One of the bits I found hardest was running across open ground during one of the White House levels, I kept getting torn to shreads by mounted guns and the enemy troops. Did it eventually though. The escape from the mansion was also tricky. Noob tubing means, when people frequently use the grenade launcher, instead of using bullets to get kills with. A big noob tuber would be someone on the PS3 called GNDOOOR, who in COD4 used 2 guns with grenade launchers and fired them all at the start of each level, getting easy, and cheap, kills. They basically just stick to the launchers because they seemingly don't have the skills in a standard firefight, all it needs is one press of a button and they get a kill.
  19. A lot of people own a copy, but I don't think I've ever seen more than 500,000 people online at once. I doubt the game would be able to handle it. I got all the intel yesterday, so got 2 bronze trophies for it. Bit pointless really, that's all you get for collecting the intel, no unlockable cheats like there were with COD4. The lowest difficulty is preferable when getting the intel, makes it less frustrating that way. Also, I think my K/D in multiplayer will be staying at around 2.15 - 2.18 for a long time, it keeps going up and down. Still, I care more about my Score now than my K/D, I have about 370,000 score after 24 hours play. I'm ahead of Chargr and he has about a 17 hour lead over me.
  20. @ Chris, I meant 1 player, sorry. It's easy, I finished it yesterday, Veteran on every level. @ about the intel, I have about 18 or 19, but some of them are hidden in ridiculous places. Eg, 1 of them, you collect during the snowmobile escape in the 3rd mission. You just drive over it to collect it. I mean, what's the point in that? I doubt anyone would find that without looking at a guide. I'm going to get the intel in a sec, I have the locations on my camera.
  21. @ Bar, where in that post do I mention Santa? Don't be ridiculous, you imbecile.
  22. Anyone else finding the Veteran difficulty very easy? It's like COD WAWs Hardened difficulty, without the constant grenade spamming, which IW said they'd fix and they have. I've just completed the Favela escape level a few hours ago, and am on the burning White House mission on Veteran. I suspect I'll have it finished again within about 3 days. Also, the MW2 soundtrack kicks ass. I DLed a torrent of it the other day, beautiful.
  23. MW2, earlier. I'm on my Veteran run-through, and it's actually not that hard at all. It's more like COD WAWs Hardened difficulty. The COD WAW Veteran was near impossible, not only because of the poor level design and hiding spots, but also the grenade spamming. Pressing R2 every 4 or 5 seconds to throw grenades back got boring very quickly, and trying to avoid a grenade out of your reach, then getting cut down by enemy gunfire was frustrating beyond belief.
  24. I think anticipation is the best part really. Most people know what gifts they're going to get, so it's the anticipation that keeps you going. If you don't tell them what you'd like, they'll just get you shit that you'll take back to the shops, more often than not, or things you already own. I'd rather know what I'll be getting and be happy, than not knowing what I'll get, with the added gift of surprise, and having to get refunds for the gifts.
