Problems Downloading TXD Workshop 3.8
Gerard replied to Sirius Cobra's topic in Suggestions / Help / Bug Reporting
Could you provide a link to the page you're trying to download it from? -
Doesn't involve them at all. Not in the slightest. Yes, it could affect everyone if it got out of hand. I don't see Australia rushing to impose sanctions. Sweden seem to be pretty silent on the matter. And where's Peru? Why is it always the US? Does Bush still believe he's the President of the World, or at least most of it? If he was so powerful, his words could do more than his soldiers ever could. Being able to tell lots of men dressed in camo to go shoot someone isn't true power, because that is exactly what Israel, Lebanon and even al-Qaeda do.

No it isnt, this is the Ultimate GTA4 Poll. I don't think everybody from Switzerland is homosexual. Other than that, I don't have a clue what you're talking about.
-
I really don't think that's very useful here. This is a forum for discussion, not a place for lists. That would be better in the content of a GTA website, or on a wiki.
-
That's a shame really. Sometimes it's wishful thinking on our part that kinda wants them to like us more than they really do. Then it goes too far and someone does something they regret.
-
Best idea would be to buy the triple back (GTA3, Vice City and San Andreas). Doesn't cost that much and you get all the games.
-
That isn't technically true. You own one copy of the game, not multiple copies. If you own the game you can't go into a shop and get six more of it. Yes granted you aren't using up their disks or anything, but you're still downloading copyrighted content which is illegal. Even if you own a different copy of it. Even if it was, there's nothing saying he owns a copy anyway. The "dog ate my homework" excuse really doesn't wash with me. A dog would find it very difficult to pick up a thin flat disk from the floor, unless it was given to him; and even then he'd find it very hard to scratch it without rubbing it against a hard uneven surface such as stone. Snapping disks isn't easy either. I would be very surprised to see parents giving you a game thats over two years old for your birthday. Not saying it wouldnt happen, but they're a bit stingy if they buy you Vice City instead of San Andreas. It mostly comes in double packs with GTAIII these days anyway. Sorry for being sceptical, but I've seen too many people wanting to download the game illegally, making up all kinds of excuses why.

Yeah we released a beta of this mod a year ago, then we closed it down. As it says on the site, GTAGB is the new version. That isn't out yet and there isn't much information yet.

Its my site get yer mits of it Glad to know that so many people think its a good idea, and I'll be even happier if they turn that into many decent contributions on the site. Red links are the places to start. I'm both Gerard and Xenon by the way.

First Vice City Stories Details from GamePro AU
Gerard replied to Chris's topic in Vice City Stories News
Yeah it really does sound like Rockstar are concentrating on the important things, like decent missions and vehicles, rather than silly things like girlfriends and clothes. I'm actually looking forward to VCS, since I loved Vice City. Might have to steal a PSP.... We've got all this information, along with the full article scans, on the wiki now. We just need to get everything written out in full, and then finish every other game. It seems everyone else likes it too: Most members ever online in one day was 99, last accomplished on July 29th, 2006 -
Almost everything about hot coffee should be kept on the hot coffee article page or its discussion page. The only other places it should be mentioned are where you mention controverty, jack thompson, or on a general modding page. At the moment, we will only allow pages for a small number of big and well known mods, eg Hot Coffee, SAMP, MTA, EdisonCarter's Cheat Devices etc. Maybe in the future we can incorporate a list of mods or the "best" mods of each type, or simply some examples of mods that you can get.
-
I'd be grateful if some people could write up your favourite suggestions for GTA4 in the GTA4 Wishlist there.

Great Don't forget to edit some stuff, because we really need content now. If you aren't quite sure how stuff works, the links on the Main Page are useful. The things we need the most help on are the Most Wanted Pages that are linked to but don't exist.

To get the GTA community all working together again, a few members from this site and other fan sites have decided that a great way to do this would be to have a dedicated website where anyone can add content. And so, without further ado, we are proud to announce the launch of Grand Theft Wiki - a free content-based GTA site that anybody can edit. A collaboration between multiple GTA communities. We are using the same software as the famous Wikipedia, so many of you will be familiar with how a wiki works. The idea of a wiki is that it is community built. Any passer-by can edit a page to correct a spelling or a missed date, or even contribute an entire article of their own. We encourage people to register and login (for free) so they can be recognised for their efforts and be a part of the GTW community. All the content will come from the community - we aren't copying it off sites or getting it fed to us from Rockstar or anything - it is built by you. That of course means that we need people to contribute to make it a comprehensive database of everything everybody knows about GTA. When there are a lot of detailed articles, it will be useful and interesting for everybody. You can visit the site just to read up as much as is known about Kent Paul, or which real-life cars the Cheetah and Infernus are built on. If you know something that isn't on the wiki, simply hit Edit and add it. The plan is to fill it up with every scrap of information about the GTA games, their vehicles, characters, locations, storylines, developers and publisher, as well as adding in a lot of information about modding, and even a GTA4 Wishlist. Pages are constantly being added as you read this. Bear with us while we get an acceptable level of content on there, and feel free to assist us by adding necessary pages. We need your help to make this project the best resouce for GTA information. Anybody that knows anything about GTA please click edit and help us out. If everybody does that just a bit, then you might find quite a bit of it useful.

Lame I don't know what other people feel here, but I don't see the rush to get bfs/gfs at early ages (straight or otherwise). I mean we get girls aged 8 with their first "boyfriend" who's a guy from school and they once hugged. It isn't so much the having the partner that bugs me, it's the expectation to have one. Any 14 year old bou that's never had a girlfriend is ultimately deemed a retart/reject/nerd. Yeah okay I've got nothing against two people who love each other getting together no matter what, but when people are forced into it or they aren't actually doing it for the value of it, it gets uncomfortable. Most guys I know treat girlfriends as status symbols, kind of like medals. Guys who've laid half the year are "great" and those that have laid off laying are the opposite. The guy meets his girlfriend, they go to the cinema (with all their mates) sit at the back and kiss once or twice, yet never talk to each other in school or anything. Obviously it is a bit different at our age (16/17 etc) when people actually DO tend to fall in love a bit, but it just sickens me that we're just expected to do this and do that when most people don't even know they aren't ready. By the time you find the girl/guy you like, you SHOULD have had about ten others. That's our culture. Myself, I never had a gf, and nobody really took the time to question it (my mum thought I just wasnt interested yet, lol). By the time I got my first (and currently only) bf, around my 16th birthday, I was gagging for it. I never saw him again after a couple of days, but since then I've been besotted with quite a number of guys - and this time it's real. It only took me one go to realise that what I had with him isn't what I wanted, but I wanted something more like what I want now... if you read between the lines there and understand that...

The Best Grand Theft Auto Character
Gerard replied to 666hunt666's topic in General GTASA Discussion
If you click on the forum called "GTA San Andreas" and post it there instead if in the Lounge, which is for talking about life and non-GTA stuff. But since you didn't, I'll move this for you. -
Yeah you'd be better off using IMG tool, putting the TXD and DFF into the gta3.img yourself, then editing the other files (vehicles.ide, handling.cfg, carcols.dat etc) according to what it says in the readme and the other help topics on this forum.
-
The basic process is to put the TXD files you get into the gta3.img file using IMG Tool 2.0, overwriting the ones that are already there. TXD files are textures for peds/cars/buildings, everything. It's the same with DFF files, which are the physical models, they also go into the gta3.img file.
-
Make sure that that is where VCMM thinks gta3.img is, you haven't installed it with a different folder name or anything? Other than that, have you installed any other mods? Has it stopped working or never worked? Does the game work?
-
If you have a tommy vercetti skin, you can just put it in the skins folder. Then you can use the ingame menu to pick the skin you want. If you want to add other pedestrian skins or edit anything other than tommy's normal clothes (the blue shirt) then you'll need to edit the player.txd if i remember correctly. That's harder.
-
Jace, he's using Vice City, not San Andreas. He can install the game, but is having trouble adding mods. Nah the problem is that the gta3.img file is set to be read-only. Just navigate to: C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto Vice City\models\gta3.img Right click on it, click properties, UNtick read-only, and try again.

Nah I'm not looking for money, I'm looking for something to DO.

I'm looking for another job. That is, to go alongside being an Admin here at TGTAP. Before you ask, no I'm NOT leaving. Up until now I've been running some of my own sites, and just helping out on friends' sites. Now I'm kinda wrapping all that up and I'm looking for something new. So if anybody knows any good forums that need mods/admins, or any decent sites that need editors or proofers, let me know,
