  1. Pardon? Are you trying to install a car mod into San Andreas? There are lots of tutorials for that on these forums already, in the Modding section.
  2. Well it is, thats exactly what it is And thats what Vice City Stories is going to be like, basically.
  3. Hey, welcome to the Forums. As well as telling us what you love about San Andreas, and what you think should go into the next GTA game, you can talk about the World Cup, your worst injuries and your favourite bands. Just make sure you don't start insulting people or swearing, and we'll love having you here.
  4. You are entitled to your own opinion. Although, you can't really expect to fully understand a game of this magnitude in 10 minutes. If you bought it expecting to have an ultra-realistic racing game or something, you picked up the wrong box. It is meant to be cartoony, it takes the piss out of loads of things, and doesnt waste effort trying to pretend to be real life. I'm NOT going to close this topic or ban you, but I AM going to let our members contest your argument and rip the piss out of you if they feel like it.
  5. What exactly are you trying to do? Edit a car? Edit a building? If you're trying to make a new car, import a ready-made car/building mod, or edit a car's colours and textures, they're all different things.
  6. Excellent - Italy always 2nd choice behind England. Had a pretty boring team, pretty crap midfield - no crosses, no chances. Some good defending though. After the send-offs, all they had to do was put some balls in a net, they did that, and won. Woo
  7. Actually, although this shot is fake, it's the closest one to what I'm expecting GTAIV to look like. My expectations are high.
  8. I mean theres no hesitation for me to call it fake before I've even seen it - any leaks would be sent directly to the owners of the big sites, not be 'found' by a random person in the street. The text and logo look fake to me, just plonked on top. There is no HUD and the camera seems to be floating in mid-air without being viewed from the first person. The way they make the game is to write the engine first, so the player can walk around in space, then they build the models and buildings and landscapes so the player has somewhere to walk on. Then they add in all the cars. peds, animations, lighting, sound etc. Now that is actually quite a big job, they would have to be pretty far on to get a screenshot like that, and considering they've given themselves another year, its unlikely they've got that far. Then again.... who knows.

    why not?

I do actually sympathyse here, for ages people never replied in my topic or anything. Maybe sound more desperate, or ask more questions at once, then someone will answer and attract attention to it. Is a tricky situation.

    why not?

Maybe you're asking the wrong questions. Make sure you aren't making topics that have been made ten times before, and make sure you're posting them in the right place. Also it helps if you write quite a lot, and write in good english, otherwise people often can't understand exactly what you're trying to say.
  11. There are two ways to turn a plane. The first way is to press the look left and look right keys - that will turn your rudder and make you turn very very slowly. The second way is better - actually yaw you plane by using the normal car-driving left/right keys, then pitch up using the same controls as you would for takeoff. So that is tilt the plane right then pull it up. Hope that helps.

    Making Car!

Mods are mainly for the PC versions.
  13. This has been discussed many many times on these forums, and I will repeat this one last time. Making a car for a GTA game is a very hard, time consuming task that takes professional GTA car modders weeks. Even making a box on wheels is an impossible task for somebody new to the business. You need to create a model for your car in 3DS Max or something. That isn't easy, and certainly isnt a case of 5 minutes drawing and instantly you have a good looking car. You need to add textures, collisions and animations to your vehicle You need to export all of that into the correct formats for GTAVC (txd, dff, col) You need to change all the other data such as the handling, vehicle data and car colours. That doesn't mean download, that means write it so that it fits in with the game properly Bear in mind that GTA3, GTAVC and GTASA mods are not compatible with each other, and the techniques for making each do differ. It is a LOT easier just to download and install a car modification, already made by experts, from our Download's Database
  14. A real-life cash-paying VIP member would probably have access to larger upload space, more tools, and would generally benefit from subsidising our hosting costs. Yep, payment would probaly be via paypal (including credit/debit card, cheque etc) The problem with this is that a rich person could sign up, send money, and instantly have access to loads more just because their parents were rich. I don't like that idea - and I think that things should be fairer. This forum should be separate to real life. People should earn 'money' (or points) by doing good things here, not by just asking parents. Here's some ideas as to how I would arrange it, but bear in mind I dont have the final say on this, and Chris hasn't even approved it at any level yet. Veterans - Well-respected members, individually selected by the forum admins, that have some privileges and fewer restrictions. This would NOT be based on points, nor be purchasable. Elevated Status - Any member can buy elevated status with a significant amount of points, which in itself would indicated they had posted a lot and spent a lot of time here. OR Big Poster - Members would automatically be promoted to a different group when they make a specific number of posts. This would be a basic change, and could apply to many different things. If the number is low (eg 30 posts), then that would prevent new members from doing certain things (or doing too much). If the limit was high (eg 300 posts) then that is just some extras for well-respected members. VIP - Any member who has been on the forums for more than 6 months and has more than 100 posts can pay in real money to become a VIP The idea I'm most fond of is the veterans group, since that gives the staff control and rewards members who have fulfilled ALL our criteria of being good members. It gives new members something to aspire to, and you can't just gain it by being rich or spamming. The other ideas simply attempt to replicate the good parts of the veterans idea, except the VIP group does help us by paying for our hosting costs in part, although if only one or two people join it won't make that much of an impact - bear in mind our hosting costs are in the hundreds of dollars. Please remember NONE of these ideas have been finalised, approved, confirmed or decided upon.
  15. That is the current limit to stop useless uploads being uploaded or members uploading too much (eg all their screenshots) just because they don't have other means of hosting stuff. Images can (and should) be hosted at ImageLodge.net, which is a site in our network. You can obviously use other image hosting sites (eg ImageShack) or your own webspace. Being able to increase your capacity is an idea for what the money could be used for. I don't think the capability is there right now, but it is a possibility. The other idea is to have two or three member groups. A member group for 'veterans' (people who have been here for years and posted a lot) could allow them to bypass a lot of the restrictions like the word filter, upload limit and posting/searching delays. A member group for new members, that doesn't allow them to create topics or upload anything could help the space and bandwidth issues, but would be inconvenient for new members that need to upload things. A member group for VIPs, that could be bought either in points (but LOTS) or a small amount of real cash ($10/£5?). That wouldn't neccessarily indicate quality (like the veteran group), and would only be within the grasp of the rich and those with the facility to actually pay. Any comments on those suggestions?
  16. Because they don't know the answer. Be patient and DON'T double (or triple) post.
  17. On these forums: Points = Money We just tend to refer to points when you post or win, and money when you're banking or buying things.
  18. Sounds awesome. Red Hot Chilli Peppers next wednesday :D
  19. There does happen to be a big downloads database on this site. And i'm fairly certain its got a skyline or two on it.
  20. Nokia N72 - If I needed a new phone now, I'd get that one. Samsung E900 - That looks pretty funky too.
  21. Thats a good point actually. Rockstar DO have a unique way of doing everything, and animals would be pretty cool things to see them do.
  22. Welcome all of ye who dare enter these forbidden HTML walls. Three slightly-golden rules: Thou shalt not double post or bump thine topics. Thou shalt not flame, spam or smite people. Thine staff art more righter than thou art.
  23. Salvatore = Sal va torr ey [sAlvAtO´rA] sal (sal-ad) va (vat) torr (door) ey (hey, way, may) Cipriani = sip ree arr nee Salvatorrr would be the way to pronounce it if it was a normal English word, but it's actually more like Salvatoré, with the é being an "ay" sound. However some people do pronounce the name the other way, for example fashion designer Salvatore Ferragamo is Sal-va-tor Ferr-A-ga-mo.
  24. That's not a glitch, thats a (cool) feature, and a good way to steal a car. Works with any gun and any vehicle. Common knowledge though, I'm afraid.
  25. They are three dimensional, but they are shown 2-dimensionally. For example a photo of that apple in front of you would be 2D, but the apple would still have been 3D. It's the same with the game - the models are 3D, but we can only see them in 2D because of the screen. However, you could have two cameras on the same model, showing two different sides of it. That proves its actually 3D and not just an animated image.
