  1. I liked Avatar but the storyline was too predictable (as with a lot of films these days), still loved the film and how they created that whole new world. For me, I cant pick a favourite but here is a list on what I think deserves a mention (no specific order) - Batman: The Dark Knight Gladiator Troy Kingdom of Heaven The Aviator Zodiac Taken Gangs of New York Ali G Borat Bruno Avatar Thats all I can think of right now, I've probably missed a couple of more but the list on there is the films I have enjoyed the most this decade. EDIT @ Bateman, Scarface and the Godfather weren't released in this decade.
  2. To me, the meaning of life for any person should be to reach their absolute maximum potential whatever that may be.
  3. I do agree with you, its the benefit system that is the root to most of out problems in this country, if people actually had an incentive to go and work they would but since the government is willing to pay for them they see that as a better option. I think its Germany who has a good benefit system, I heard if you lose your job there you get 90% of your old wages for a year (seems reasonable) and in that time you have to find a job, if you don't then the benefits stop, it sounds harsh but I guarantee it will certainly give people an incentive to actually find work and do menial jobs. The way we're going withrising Uni debts and borrowing more than ever, we will get out of the recession but by doing so we're just going to plant the seeds for the next one to come.
  4. Immigrants are actually willing to do the jobs that British people won't do, thats why we have lots of Polish people etc. doing cleaning and menial jobs that British people won't do. I dont think everyone who comes into this country, comes and takes money off the government, its just the benefits system is so flawed, its practically saying to people "don't work, you'll get more money off the government", theres many British people who too scam benefits so I wouldn't just blame the immigrants, if we actually sort out our benefit system and heavily slow down immigration (we actually need to becuase we cant populate much more than we are now) this country will be going in the right direction.
  5. For me it was definetly the oil, Iraq has the second largest oil resources behind Saudi Arabia, so they have got a lot. Would never happen. So we wait until they inevitably do? And I don't mean to just suddenly nuke them right now, but if they do anything at all or we get solid info that they're producing nukes, then enough is enough. Nothing is inevitable, plus the "solid" info you claim, is that the same that said Iraq had WMD, I'd hardly trust any info/source if they genuinly believed Iraq had WMD I'd never say never, but I'd say its highly unlikely they'll ever be used, I think Nuclear weapons are there for protection most of the time and to show a countries power, If Iran created them I dont necessarily think they would use them, they would probably use it as a threat but thats it. I dont think racism is that common these days, I mean I haven't heard anyone be racist in quite some time, I think it just gets over exaggerated with one incident and blown out of all proportion. Its quite difficlt ot be racist as well with all the different ethnic minorities contributing to our economy, we actually need them.
  6. The effects and the way it was shot was good, with all the graphic stuff but to me the storyline just seemed poor, like most films these days, I am not sure why this happens but I have to go back a while to actually think of a movie that was well written and had everything good about it. All I ever see now is a good action packed movie with loads of stunts (Transformers 2) but with poor writing in it. I mean halfway through the movie you knew the ending which to me is not the sign of a great film. Agree with Mpilk's spoiler comments to. A sequel to 2012 would be interesting though.
  7. To be honest I dont really know that much of my heritage, I am of Pakistani origin but was born in the UK, my grandfather was the first to come to England from my family, My Dad came here in the early 70s, when he was about 10 or 11. All else I know is that my Grandfather (fathers side) used to work for the British Army, other than that I couldn't tell you as much detail as Thomas has.
  8. I used to like the Lib Dems, but then Nick Clegg was caught up in the expenses scandal and had to pay money back (not sure about the amount) which totally ruined him for me, lost his integrity. I am going to vote conservative (now that I am 18) mainly because I think they have more knowledge about how to really re-ignite the economy, not have a quick fix but for the long term. Labours pre-budget report was a joke to be quite honest, taxes are going to rise a lot and not that much debt will be reduced and we will have to pay tax on stupid things such as Broadband which we shouldn't have to. Plus David Cameron is the only one who survived the expense scandal and had the most integrity after it all came out, to me I reckon he wont do a bad job. The problem is though he can't satisfy or please everyone.

    Let's make a bet!

I think everyone is getting too carried away with location, for me the timeline is going to be hugely important, now that they introduced laptops and internet etc. I would like them to do a 70s theme but can't see it happening now though.
  10. 100% agree I think sex education doesn't really help all that much. I mean telling someone something doesn't mean they'll listen. It is quite difficult to sort out the problem that is 'teen pregnancies', I personally blame the media, it's too easy nowadays for teenagers to access sexual content, having said that it would be very difficult to stop them. Quite surprised that there are a lot of pro-abortion people on here, I am kinda 50/50 on abortion. I mean if the girl (the 11 yr old girl) did have an abortion, I dont think i would be as simple of getting rid of the baby and then its over, the girl might not be able to get over the emotional and mental scars left behind which kinda means having the abortion won't mean everythings rosy. Having said that if she did have the kid (like the aussie girl has) it has changed her life dramatically, but in this case I think the child will be ok partly because she will be living with her father who will help raise the baby so this is kinda one of the better outcomes.
  11. Bringing the warzone back would definetly increase activity but also create a lot more problems, I think mostly this forum isn't as active as before because theres no news on the next GTA yet, once that comes I reckon activity will rocket.
  12. EX- fucking - ZACTLY This is the biggest problem plaguing Britain today. I could, in theory, move out of my parent's house now, and claim benefits because I'm in full time education. I'd have my own place, a steady, comfortable income of money, and I've done....nothing to deserve it. All i'd have to do is go down to the dole office once a week and say 'yeh i went to de job center i did bu the man sed i mite not be hav a job coz i mite have not got brain so can not work wiv masheeens cos sumwun mitye diiie.' Makes me fuckin' angry thinking about it. Agree with both of you there 100%, theres too many benefit thieves and its far too easy to claim benefits these days. EMA (education Maintenance Allowance) must be one of the worst. Just because you have a child at a young age it does not mean you can take lots of money off the government, especially when most of the mothers live with their parents anyway.
  13. Yeah your right too often, a girl at my school had a child at 16 and that was bad so 12 is going to be much more worse. The thing about things like this is the only person who is in the middle of all the crap is the child itself, he/she is going to suffer the most. They should bring more stricter laws for teenage pregnancy because the current ones aren't working.
  14. To be honest I think having a re done Vice City or San Andreas would be boring, I want something new and not a whole revamp of past games. I would like to see remakes of better San Andreas and Vice City but not yet.
  15. Well quite a big and exciting week for me, I got my driving theory test on Wednesday afternoon, lets hope im third time lucky. I got my birthday tomorrow and should be also getting GTA IV on wednesday and a new phone.
  16. That france idea is pretty good (the way you back it up), would be interesting if it is in Paris, not sure if Paris is renowned for its crime. Still think London would be a great option, if anyone has seen the films Kidulthood and Adulthood I think you'll know why. Though if it is London it should have all the 2012 Olympic Stadiums that are being built.
  17. Although I haven't played the storyline of GTA IV (getting the game next week when im 18) I think they should go with something totally new, like London, Tokyo or something like that.
  18. BUMP Just had to ask if anyone here saw Darre Bent's goal against Liverpool. If you haven't watch it here My link The irony is that the beach ball/balloon came from a Liverpool fan.
  19. I would say 2-Pac as he changed rap/hip-hop and made it more popular. If it wasn't for him I dont think hip-hop/rap would be as popular as it is today. Top mentions go to Eminem and Kanye West (even though he has done some stupid things). I really like Jay-Z but I think he gets found out if he sings alone, he always needs someone else to sing with. Just like he needed Alicia Keys for his Empire State? Song and he needed Rihanna Kanye West for the 'Run this Town' track.
  20. You done well, I remember when I got a bit of bullying in primary school, I got through it though with the help of my brother (no violence was used). Got to agree though teachers absolutely do nothing, they they do but they don't especially at Primary school. At secondary school things get easier as people (I have found) don't get bullied as much as I think the bully then gets picked on by others. Bullies usually I would say bully because they have their own problems, at home usually and probably just need to take it out, I remember reading somewhere that a large number of bullies actually got bullied before.
  21. I can't wait for Uni, they say its the best time of your life, the only downised for me is the amount of debt that comes from it. Scotish people get it easy they don't have University fees.
  22. I'd hardly say Tevez is a reject, United wanted him, he rejected United. Adebayor has been wanting to leave Arsenal for quite a while too so he's not a reject plus there both scoring goals which means they are good players. They've only lost one league game this season and that was against Man Utd, even that was in the last minute too. Arsenal for me are going to lose their top 4 spot this season because City are so strong, even if there doing slightl;y bad by January they'll just spend another 50-100 million. They still have players like Robinho and Santa Cruz to come back from injury as well. Seriously Hughes this season hasn't done much wrong at all he has proven he can quickly get the team to gel and has proven that he can compete with the big 4, they've beaten arsenal and took United all the way till the end. The only real weakness I see is their defence, they just need a vidic/terry type defender who is going to put his body on the line.
  23. Muse - Uprising One of my fav. current songs.
  24. Its Sylar not Slayer Anyways I understand everyones point of view, im just looking at things when the childs gets older and says he finds out that his father breastfeeded him, I am not sure he/she would be quite happy with this as its not 'normal'. Anyway this man is one in probably a billion, I dont think many men would like to breasfeed their children to be honest.
