Shortbus
If I could afford it, I'd get a projector to use my computer on.
claude-5
i would love a projector that hangs from my ceiling, plug my pc, ps2, 360, dvd player into, but if i could afford that, i would get myself a ps3 and a better hardware for my new comp
Pandora
I would hate a projector. I would hate 145". 45" is max for a TV if you ask me (for in my room). big white fatass 17 inch Lol I've got a 22" and it isn't as big as you'd think it is. Well, it's pleasant, but if you're willing to pay the price, I'd get a 24" instead. Also depends on what you're used to of course. But it just isn't as big as most people think it is. Spaz The Great
@shortbus yeah i reckon that will work good @claude-5, well the mobo doesnt really determine it, mainly the CPU and video card. Did you buy a AMD based or Intel based motherboard? If amd i would get a X2 5000+ or more, if intel, i'd go for a e8400 (3ghz core 2) or if you cant afford that, a e7200 (2.53ghz core 2). graphic card, i'd get a 8800gt/s/x . but i think gtx is still quite expensive. Your mobo isn't really the the key to being able to run GTA IV....@Shortbus: Yeah, sure. Especially at that reso. It won't be a prob. Neither of you paid attention, did you? He never asked what kind of mobo he should get for GTA IV. He said he already bought one, he wanted to know what he should hook up to it.

GTA Don
LOL an Intel (probably GMA) the minimum? That card can hardly run SA. 2GB RAM, no way jose.
TM™
I'm thinking of buying this system pretty soon. Specs: Akoya® PC System P6888 Windows Vista Home Premium Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 3GB RAM 1000GB HDD NVIDIA GeForce 9300GS
chris82
NVIDIA GeForce 9300GS No. In fact don't even bother with an envidya card. 4850.
TM™
If that's the case, then I'm most probably gonna buy myself a new GFX Card. But I found a good PC with some of the same specs and a better GFX Card (Think it's nVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT 512MB), but if that's not good, then I'll keep searching. This PC and the other PC are the same price, £600.

HARDLY run SA, it still could, 2GB of ram might even be the minimum, i wish they would let out the requirements now, so people can get ready for it Edited August 30, 2008 by claude-
chris82
I'm telling you don't get an envidya card, but if you like defective parts and higher prices, by all means. As for the minimum specs, I'll say it again: If you can't run San Andreas on VERY HIGH detail settings and get a constant framerate with frame limiter on, good luck playing GTA IV. I simply questioned why both of you acted as if he was questioning his mother board.

Shortbus
My AMD Athlon X2 5000+ will arrive today(Or maybe tomorrow if Hurricane Gustav delayed it). Is Socket AM2 a plug and play CPU? Do I need to flash my BIOS? If my current BIOS is the most updated version, I don't need to flash it, do I? chris82
Shouldn't need to, but I'd recommend formatting/reinstalling Windows at some point before you plan on playing.
Shortbus
I don't know if that will happen, I have no devices to back all my stuff up on like an external HD or flash drives. I do have a CD burner, but I don't really wanna put 90GB worth of junk on little CDs :I Plus I need to buy some blanks. What are the consequences of playing without formatting and whats the likelihood of them happening Edited September 3, 2008 by Shortbus
chris82
No, it's just that there are sometimes quirks when replacing critical hardware. If it worries you, make a partition and put all your things on it, then just format the partition Windows is on, but this only works if you have a large enough hard drive.
