Chris
This is getting very annoying now, hence this announcement. Whenever a spam bot posts here with multiple links to drugs, loads of you are replying with things like "if you want to stay here you better stop advertising". Do you really think they even know what GTA is? They are spam bots advertising drugs. Do not reply to the topic and give them even more exposure, use the report button instead, so at least the mods and admins can see the topic immediately, do not reply and bump it up to the top of the page, what a silly thing to do
Evo.
i have to agree, these things arent actually people, they are drivers made to advertise things on forums. they generate random registrations and spam up the place. on the SanAndreasCustoms page, we had to get a new one, as spam bots flooded the forum. so as chris said, dont reply, just ignore it. Chris
I just wish IPB would hurry up and fix the problem, we have image verification on and everything. And vBulletin forums never have this problem, so IPB are doing something wrong.
Jaruff
Chris, I had the same problem and all I did was make email validation required (I don't know if you have that set up here) and not allow validating accounts to post. That seems to be the only way to fix the problem, sadly.
Pandora
I don't think I got my activation password for mail here. You just register and you get readdy posting. But you can ban does IP's can you? so there bot wont be able to post from that comp
Chris
We've had email validation on for years. They all use free Russian webmail providors. At some point there is a human involved, the rest is automated.
TM™
I never knew that besides the fact that there selling drugs, can you block them or anything like that.
Spaz The Great
We've had email validation on for years. They all use free Russian webmail providors. At some point there is a human involved, the rest is automated. Well, if there HAS to be a human at one point((image verification AND email verification kind of make that a must)), then they will always be doing it...... Unless it's possible to block the bot-script?
TM™
Thats what i Think you gotta do if they keep going on and on...
Airashii
Yeah, sorry for posting there, never really bothered to look at the poster and I also didn't know we had report buttons here as I've never had any need to report anything.

Gerard
Firstly, that was a bump. Secondly, this topic is about bots posting spam links to porn sites, not about arguments or unneccessary replies. Thirdly, you say "lots of elites" when you seem to mean only TVG. If you dislike someone, you don't need to be spiteful about it. If you have a specific complaint, make that known to the staff. This is not the way to go about settling disagreements.
