@Feryk dont buy a 8500gt. get nvidia 8600, 8800, 9600, 7900, 7800. or ATI 3850, 3870, 4850,4870 choose one of those. i'd be running it on lowish settings, 800x600 low details probably....

Yeah lol, happens to all of us, just for next time make sure you have an idea of what your unchecking. Go back into msconfig, check the box for everything in startup and services like Righty said and change the setting to regular (normal startup). then restart when it prompts you should be all good from there.

haha nice. my friend made heaps of 3d models n stuff like that in Maya, and some other CAD programs (autocad, catia) takes ages eh...he was saying about rendering, and to render in full it wouldve taken a few solid days...so thats why they have those insane computers

no, dude. look around these forums, heaps of people are saying this is the most resource hungry game even more than crysis, thats been a bit of a problem for most. i can imagine how you feel though, id be pretty cut. nice laptop btw but make sure all your video drivers are updated, defrag, etc. the video drivers will probably make a difference, nvidia made new ones. not sure if it will be for 8800GTX(m) but yeah.

Dude thats really weird. Umm im guessing you got a CRT (tube, old) monitor not a LCD, and your CRT is f*ked...thats the only thing i could guess. but you say it is only a problem with vice city? maybe a corruption / incompatibility with your video card (or another system spec) post your specs here so we can have a look (like cpu, ram, video card, hard disk, monitor brand / model etc)

errr cool i guess, tbh a LOT of effort to go to. if you wanna make a new save file, like 2 sets of save files, rename "GTA san andreas user files" folder inside my documents to ANYTHING else. and it recreates the folder on startup works for vice city too. i guess it would also work for gta III saves people hex editing, its not the easiest of tasks (although i have done it once or twice). also can you make all the text black, a registry path is yellow and its sorta...unreadable unless you highlight with cursor so yeah lol. also keep in mind on some systems (ones that you do not have administrative access), you wouldnt be able to do this, i guess that's obvious cos your using registry editor, but on top of that, you usually wont have write permissions for folders other than your own. im talking about a school / work environment here btw

i watched dark knight (bits of it) on bluray yesterday! insane quality lol. that movie NEVER gets old someone said they didnt notice a difference between DVD and bluray, so then we played the DVDrip for them and they are like..OH! lol.

4850 should be able to run the game quite well, X2 isnt a bad processor, 4600+ is ok, but i guess you would get benefit from a Q6600 (quad core) if your just planning on having a intel 775 based CPU and a single pcie graphics card, maybe get the ASUS P5KPL-CM. its about $72AUD here, thats about $50 USD. for a power supply, use a good name brand: thermaltake, coolermaster, antec etc. maybe coolermaster realpower 550W. or whatever other you wanna buy, i would go for 500W as minimum, and dont buy a no-name. I cannot say for sure what framerate you will get, cos i dont have the same hardware to test etc. just google / search around for it.

91.121.94.30:5192 <- i think thats littlewhiteys vcmp server, one of the most popular...hey. just open the VCMP client, and click internet, then you will see some servers there, just wait a minute or two for the list to refresh. 121. 94. 30: 5192 < or try that. im not too sure, ive just been googling. anyways yeah , press Internet to see servers. if there are none there, then theres NO server for vcmp. tbh i stopped playing it because it crashed for me every 15 - 20 minutes (no idea why) and cause SAMP was out and yeah lol.

Wow, if i were to mod I would never expect money from it, I mean, it'd be more of a hobby or whatever... I can acknowledge that doing these mods would take hours upon hours, but, if your doing it, your doing it for fun and to make something cool that many people can use, not for money.

so you wanna run a server? or you wanna join one? if your joining one then the port will probably be 6667, i think thats it. if your gonna run a server for vcmp then you have to open ports on your router etc go to portforward.com and choose from there and it'll help.
