hmm thats weird, i dont have any experience with the downgrader though vice city always crashed in the same spot, that was because i had put a car that needed the dmagic wheel mod, but i didnt put it in. so whenever i drove near the airport it crashed. but you say you got no mods at all...thats really strange. are you using a trainer or anything? only thing i could suggest is to uninstall/reinstall, but it looks like you tried that a few times. go to www.gtasavegames.com and they have files after every mission (for v1 i assume) so yeah. i guess thats your only option.

to make a point, you could have a intel quad core extreme edition $1000 processor, and a geforce FX5200, it still wont run it. sure your card meets the "minimum" but, i wouldve thought this game is more graphic intensive rather than CPU (still is cpu intensive, but graphics would be slightly more useful) i think. so yeah like chris said, and im saying. better to upgrade your video card. do you have a PCIe x16 slot? if you dont then, you might be in a bit of trouble cos AGP is sorta long dead :S but you should have one.

hmm i think with some modding of the default.ide you can do something like that. im not sure of the specifics, but i remember something that makes one car appear all the time...well it was like the "everyone drives fast car" code in SA. there IS a way to do it, im not sure

Played R:Racing for PS2 yesterday. i only actually got like 25% done (finished story mode 100% though), havent played it since 2005 (when i got GT4). still a really good game, top graphics, good selection of cars. lol urbanoutlaw it has the pantera GTS or whatever its called lol. so yeah hadnt played that for 3+ years, but getting back into it now. oh and Sonic the Hedgehog 2....oldschool ftw

its ok. im just really cut they went back to WW2. COD4 was a awesome game, then they go fuck it up by going to WW2. Sure it was the biggest war etc etc but...its gay. the game itself was pretty good, i just got the shits with it like i do with other cod games (read: other FPS's with missions) from just dieing and dieing...and dieing. gets old fast. In those sort of games im not much of a strategy type, im more of the rambo type. It works...sometimes. Not with COD:World At War , though. I played GRID too, with G25 (and Z5500 surround) ... best..game. Except for the handling. its like your driving on ice (the surface not the drug). iam currently playing: super smash bros brawl on wii mario kart wii and saving up for a ps3

I was gonna say that, but... Not everything is optimised for quad core yet. Maybe software that's newer than 2007/8 might be, but yeah. I would've thought quadcore optimisation is like 64bit driver support... Generally, the only thing quad core is better is in video editing etc from what i've seen, and even then its only a tiny bit (like 0.2 sec) faster than a E8400 (3Ghz core2 duo) Also "at least 3.2ghz dual core"...um the fastest is E8600 (3.33GHz), the next down is 8500 (3.16GHz) and then 8400 (3Ghz). The prices in the order i listed em, $429, 262, 265. So as you can see it would be sorta stupid to buy a E8600 now (its 429 just for cpu). AMD on the other hand has a X2 6000+ for $148, considerably cheaper. But it is not as fast as the intel core 2's. They also have the Phenom X4 9550 for just $229 Q6600 is actually $5 more than the E8500, here at least. The whole market crash / economic crisis has stuffed up the exchange rate (used to be AUD = $0.90 US) but now its AUD = 0.66....so that has pushed the prices way up. Keep in mind all these prices are australian, I dunno what prices you get over there, they might be really different...

i dont mind em. ive been in the new XR6, its actually slower than the old one and heavier i think. but they sound awesome when people are gunning them around, too bad those are few and far between
