Also though, in the same conference, Rockstar said there was a myth that nobody has ever found. That was around 2006 or 2007.

I bet you installed GFWL in-game. It's not the patch, it's GFWL itself. Try installing it from OUTSIDE the game from Rockstar. Quoting them:
