I tried one of them once,from Game FAQ`s,I got it out,but I couldn`t enter it for some reason.Are you sure you can enter the helicopters? It seems to be impossible on the PSP but I have seen many videos on YouTube for the PS2 version.

The P.I.T manouvre is good,you could also try crashing him into nearby objects,e.g. Trees and walls.You could try completing that mission by being the better driver.
