The scene cuts too early to read the entire line, but what we can read is: Energy prices up following long decline Dutch markets And then it cuts to a different scene. It's nothing important, if anything it's just going to be a little joke.

GamesRadar have been busy posting a few articles on their website regarding the trailer for Grand Theft Auto IV and the subsequent speculation and rumour spreading that has been going on in forums since then. The first article of interest is about the level of realism Rockstar seem to be aiming for. In the article GR compare seven stills from the trailer with their real life counterparts. It's quite interesting especially if you don't know much about New York, and it will give you a good idea of what you can expect to see from New York replicated in the game. The second article has GamesRadar's thoughts on 9 different rumours which they've spotted around the web. While many speculative things are also being posted and commented on in our own forums, it's interesting to read their take on them. Rumours include multiplayer, destructible buildings, additional cities, the main character and more. Let us know your own thoughts, opinions and speculation about GTA 4 in our own forum.

No. This is illegal. And your sig is too big. Sort it out. Read the rules.
-
I can't sort this out right now, I'll have a look tomorrow though. If there's an error it should at least say what it is, not be blank like it is in your screen.

But are you a subscriber? Subscribers usually get the mag days before it goes on sale, if you aren't then it's likely someone elsewhere is gonna get the credit... and fame
-
Licenses are incredibly expensive to obtain, and because there's such a large amount of vehicles in the game it is even more difficult to get licenses for each one. Besides, the parodies are quite good, and it seems like they're making them look more realistic in GTA4.

This is an American publication, so Ciaran you won't be able to get it, neither will I. Which is partly why I was asking if anyone here could get it. Preferably a subscriber so we have the info the day it comes out since they get it a week before usually, before it appears in stores.

Just like they did 3 years ago with San Andreas, the folks behind GameInformer magazine have managed to acquire a world exclusive first look at Grand Theft Auto IV. Issue 169 for May will contain ten pages of screenshots and details. That's all they're allowed to say for now, we'll have to wait until the issue is released before we can find out what the juicy details are. If you're going to be able to get a copy of it, let us know. Link: GameInformer Thanks to raooul_duke at GTAForums for the news

Yeah actually you could be right. I've seen the film a couple of times and he does look quite similar. I think I might research some other films that had Russians in them. Best. Typo. Ever. Of course, all thongs are differed, they differ in size, colour etc. However, I don't think we'll be seeing our protagonist wearing a thong. See, this is why you should look at what you're typing

Screen Captures of the trailer which I took earlier are now online! I'll post up analysis of them tomorrow, I'm a little late with these I know.
-
And so the source can be tracked... and other sites are less likely to steal it, or add their own watermark. You should all download the HD trailer though, it's way better watching it in high quality.
-
TeamXbox.com added their own watermark to the video actually. It's not actually from an Xbox. Well it could be, but the point is we don't know for sure at the moment.

Everyone please stay on topic and please type normally, not like some noob, thank you. Continue your discussions.

NOTE: This topic had an absolute ton of replies to it, all of which have been moved to the news post This topic is for discussion about the trailer, and what you think about it. Not to ask questions or argue about Liberty City.

It's here, the moment you've all been waiting for! Rockstar Games have just released the first official trailer for Grand Theft Auto IV! Grab it from the official site while you can. Information The game takes place in a modern day New York (Liberty City) setting The main character appears to be Eastern European, possibly Russian He speaks the line "Life is complicated - I killed people, smuggled people, sold people. Perhaps here, things will be different." towards the end of the trailer. Trailer Mirrors: See our trailers page for a complete list of both high and standard definition versions. Or if you're eager to see it, here's a quick mirror I've uploaded of the HD version: Mirror #1 (thegtaplace.com) Screenshots: For now I have taken some screen caps of the trailer, keep an eye on our screenshots page though, as we hope to have some official, and actual screenshots soon. Impressions: From IGN and GameSpy, as well as these topics on our forums.

Yes Bryan you don't need to post that in EVERY GTA4 topic, we're all excited but please don't spam.

It almost has actually, still a couple of hours to go before the day ends for me anyway 45 mins to go to trailer now.
-
Wow... chaos! Everyone who can't access the site - there is still roughly 50 minutes to go... clear your browser's cache, temporary files, cookies, everything, for every browser you have, try loading it in each one. When the countdown ends you get redirected to http://www.rockstargames.com/IV/index2.html so you could just keep refreshing that and when it becomes active you'll see the trailer there. Unless the change some stuff around beforehand. Thats just a BIT over the top don't you think? Lol did your sarcasm detector break?
-
I'm going to *guess* that it will be 2 minutes 30 seconds...
-
11 minutes wtf? Don't you mean 1 hour and 11 minutes? Daylight Savings fuck up? A lot of people are reporting that...
-
Added both of you to the gamertag list, and accepted your friend request Andrew.

Downloads are offline now and will be for 24 hours or so.
-
Yeah I was just about to say about the "of the year" titles, we wouldn't be able to do this prestigious awards anymore, that's my only concern. I see your point though in having them twice a year, but I think it's just simpler if we do them once a year for now.
-
They won't put the trailer in flash Jace, trailers are always released as video files. Mainly .wmv and .mov.
-
Due to the massively hyped release of the first GTA 4 trailer in less than 24 hours, and the expected huge increase in traffic and bandwidth we'll be putting out, I'm going to disable the entire downloads database tomorrow to ensure The GTA Place stays fast for everyone. I actually did a few optimisations in the past 24 hours to make the site less resource intensive when the downloads are active, hopefully that will prove helpful. I will turn the downloads back on 24 hours after the release of the trailer, so don't worry, they aren't going forever! At 6PM EST tomorrow, the downloads will be turned off, and all page requests will display a quick message before automatically redirecting to the front page where you'll see the GTA 4 trailer. And anyway, that's more important than downloads isn't it? So there we go Hope to see ALL of you on here at 6PM EST tomorrow!
