^I agree, there was ALWAYS something to do SOMEWHERE in SA and it didn't take you long to figure out what you wanted to do. Whereas GTA IV kinda left me bored and limited to what you can actually do. Hopefully with the vast country side, mountains, ocean (jetskis sound fun) and whatever else R* throws in there, we should be entertained for quite a while. I think that they are making GTA games in the present now because they feel that they have generally covered the other eras. Now I know that they didn't even etch the surface of the amount of story or game material that they could extract from the 80s, 90s and early 2000s but since GTA has always (more so with and after the release of GTA III) been a satire/interpretation of the American and world culture, I think that they find it interesting to experiment with how accurately they can represent the world today in a video game medium. Since there have been so many crime movies and games set in the 60s-2000s, it would make me think that R* would feel privileged or proud to have the opportunity to create a game based on what crime/life is like currently. Also they did some games that were set in quite early on the 20th century like L.A. Noire and Red Dead Redemption so maybe they're leaving the 'past' to games like that. Anyways maybe I'm over analyzing it a little bit but that's just my opinion. I would love to see a GTA game set +20 years ago because it would be a nice change and exposure to a time that I didn't grow up in. One more thing, so far GTA games (starting with III, not too sure about 1, 2 and London) have been set in the 80s,90s and 2000s. So maybe, since it is technically a new decade, this will be their crack at setting a game in the (although not radically different, but still significantly different) 2010s - if that's what we're calling it these days haha.

Talk in your own language here and in the languages you know.

Anyone know any German around here? Doing a little skit for my German class and I'm making corrections that my professor made to my script. Sie sollten abends für sie kochen und kaufen sie ihr einen neuen Herd. translates to (if I'm not mistaken) You should cook dinner for her and buy her a new stove. The context of this is a nephew giving his uncle tips on a birthday present for his wife (the nephew's aunt). For some reason the professor circle the first word of the sentence 'Sie' and wrote 'Who?' and also underlined 'solten'. I'm pretty sure that I translated it correctly since the nephew is talking to his uncle I used Sie and solten is the correct conjugation for this pronoun. So yeah, any suggestions? Kak dela u vseh? -
^ It was the same story for me, maybe off by a year or so. As for your point about 7 year old playing GTA 4 I totally agree. I have a little brother who is in grade 5 and I introduced him to video games at a fairly young age (6 or 7). He learned how to play Halo, couple of Crash Bandicoot games and others but I always tried to stop him from playing GTA. Both my parents and I thought that it was a bit too violent for his age. He got his hands on it a couple of times while no one was home of course Anyways yeah I moved away from home for university and left the 360 with him. He has the option of playing it now but I think he still sticks to COD or whatever.

Riiiiiiight, I knew that. See what playing video games has done to my knowledge of geography!?! EdIt: It has also affected my grammar, forcing me to go back and edit my posts sometimes.

Yup, the series really has come a long way and the video really shows that. Gotta love the convertible/forklift part along with the golf scene Edit: On another note, I thought this was pretty cool.

As opposed to 'UNCE UNCE UNCE UNCE' it's more like 'WAHWAHHWAHWHAHWAH' haha. I don't really like dubstep too much myself but it's gotten extremely popular in North America lately. I don't mind it at parties I guess and there are a couple of songs that I'll listen to occasionally. Hope you guys have seen this one: My friend showed me this guy's videos a couple days ago, you should check his channel out. Some of them are pretty entertaining. He basically takes videos, matches 'em up with dubstep songs and edits the videos accordingly. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FnoAfhNfM3o Oh yeah a friend of mine made this song, refers to it as 'chillstep'. For an amateur I thought that it was pretty good.

Back when the game first came out, I was all over the multiplayer. To be honest the TDM and other competitive modes were really glitchy (people would die 3-4 seconds after you unloaded your entire magazine into them), a bit boring and lacking fun. Races were alright to play every now and then although I never really got into them that much. I was a huge Achievement junkie back then so I played all of the cooperative modes multiple times and it was actually quite fun when you got a good team together. However, the mode that I did enjoy and invested A LOT of time into was Free Mode. I played with some members from here a couple times (Noru, Urbanoutlaw and TEC-9 or whatever his latest name change was) and it was pretty fun. I also had a close friend from high school who loved the game as much as I did. And so over the past few years we have invested at least +150-200 hours into Free Mode. We'd always find something fun to do; whether it was holding off the cops (sometimes at the barge at the airport), doing helicopter pick ups from the water, doing stunts on motorcycles, following people and shanking them for hours on end, racing, doing every glitch we heard about (including entering every 'non-enter-able building that we could) or just relaxing in the city and finding something else to do. After a while it just got really boring even though we did that same thing for the DLC packs. Since I recently switched over to PC gaming and bought the entire GTA collection, I might be willing to do it all over again since it'll be quite a different experience.

Haha wow talk about ancient. Some parts that amused me were: GTA3 Info I need someone to write something about this game, please contact me if you don't mind writing something. About GTA:VC Tommy is a 35 year-old punk just back from 15 years in maximum security. He is sent to Vice City by Sonny Forrelli for a drug deal. There, Tommy is set up and loses his money and is left without his cocaine. It seems Sonny is beginning to hate Tommy. Tommy has to get the money back so he can make it up to Sonny... yet the only way to do this is through crime. So cops, gangs, an people stand in his way... the only way he could last is to take over the city himself... what does he have to lose... Thanks to Daniel Fomin for writing this

I'm 'Dr Rockzo The Rock n Roll Clown' and I do COCAINE! C-c-c-yeahhhh. I play CSS, TF2 and I have the entire GTA collection (got it for that sweet deal of 12 bucks) so let me know if you wanna play any of those.

This video amused me, but I'm hoping the 'looks better' was sarcasm. I personally am looking forward to both SR3 and GTAV; this is not a place for partisan divisions. I'm afraid not. More polygons and sharper textures doesn't always make for better graphics... @Spaz & that other guy Apparently opinions = trolling now... Yeah. Because your opinions are just that. You are nothing more than a troll. It's what you will always be. It's probably all you even know how to do. There's gotta be more than LS. The other two cities? Who knows. But there's definitely a mountain, and some more rural areas. There won't be. Rockstar said it's just Los Santos + surroundings. I'm assuming it's the same surroundings from SA, mountain(s), forest and country. You just said there won't be more then LS, and then went on to say there will be surroundings. You're just TRYING to disagree with me now. Or are you incapable of seeing that you posted the exact same thing I did? P.S. All aboard the quote train! I thought they automatically took quoted quotes out? I'm guessing he was just nitpicking at that point. And woohoo quote train!

^Whaat, no way. Last I remember you were planning for something in the military? Mind you my only memory of that is when you posted photos of yourself posing with bad ass guns haha. Oh yeah and the only new stuff with me was moving from the west coast of Canada to the east for university. Everything else hasn't really changed all that much...
-
Once again he does look slightly similar but if this game is taking place in present day, then CJ would easily be in his 40s by now.
-
CS:S, TF2 and a few GTA games here and there. Moved across the country for university so I left my 360 with my brother who is in grade 5 and probably needs it more than I do. Really starting to enjoy PC gaming though! Edit: Oh and The Impossible Game from time to time when I feel like getting pissed off and throwing my iPod across the room.

Pretty positive that it's the same dude. Notice the similar hairlines. It would also make sense because the first shot is when he's talking about how his 'kids will be like the kids on TV...' but 'you know how it is' and then it switches to the robbery scene implying that it's the same guy narrating as the one shown in both scenes.

Yes, plus it looks more like a jewelry store or something of the sort. The boxes just to the right of the 'V' look like those glass cases containing mannequin necks that are usually used to display necklaces and other jewelry.

The DLC did get released for PC as well actually. As for San Andreas you got access to each city in the following order Los Santos (Los Angeles), San Fierro (San Francisco) and Las Venturas (Las Vegas). San Andreas (California) is the state that those cities are in, so based on the official R* announcement the game is set in Los Santos with the surrouding countryside, mountains and beaches. Basically the bottom half of the old SA map that totalaccessGTA posted. However, if they are re-imagining the city, they might change out the layout and geography just as MLL said in another thread.
-
Sounds like a plan. I also want to try out the classic never-ending-nitrous-fueled-ATV-backflips off the top of the mountain. It really looks amazing in the trailer, can't wait to see the rest of it, as well as the rest of the 're-imagined' landscape. Edit: whoops you said re imaging haha, my bad. I'm guessing you meant 'cameos'* unless you spelled Camaros (the cars) wrong. It would be interesting to get some insight on how the city changed since 1992. Maybe OG Loc is still around!
-
Haha some people might argue that nowadays Good point though and I'm quite positive it won't be just 'gangsta shit', L.A. is a huge and vast city so R* won't have a problem creating a new fresh look for Los Santos. Here's a quote from that little announcement to support this point.
-
I'm sure they will make it more fulfilling and dynamic than the previous version of San Andres. I agree, when you look at the old San Andreas map, Los Santos and the surrounding countryside area take up a HUGE portion of the map (if you include Mt. Chilead since we assume it's going to be included). It takes up almost half of the map and I am sure R* will not let us down when re-creating the city. I am a little disappointed that it is not the whole state but I guess we will have to wait for more updates/trailers to get a better idea of how the game is going to turn out. Really excited for the rural environment though (Mt. Chilead looks amazing!), it should be much more fun and lively to explore than the dark grey streets of Liberty City Thanks for the heads up though. Welcome back you two! And it looks like you're probably right Noru about the boundary thing.

Haha I see that you finally ended up implementing Next and Previous buttons for the screenshots section Looking forward to the upcoming activity and changes at TGTAP. Let me know if you need any help with anything! Relatively simple stuff though cause I'm not to savvy with website designing, mods, etc.
-
What's going on man, I'm in the same situation as you pretty much. AND I still have the same signature that you made me a few years back haha!
-
Yes I'm pretty sure we have roughly a year (at least) to wait for the release. To expand on my idea of multiple playable characters, here's a couple screenshots of the guy who appears 2 or 3 times during the trailer. ^ For this one I noticed that at the last possible second before the trailer changes to another scene, the guy in the red car sticks his head back a bit behind the windshield so he can check out the girl's ass haha. Which was also the way I was able to screenshot his face. ^Here he is again shown later in the trailer when he is evading the cops and crashes into a blue car in the process. ^And to tie this character to the storyline, I slowly went through the robbery scene and noticed that it is possible that he is the driver of the van. Physical features look vaguely similar (although it is hard to tell because of the lack of light); bald head, dark complexion and it looks like he is wearing wifebeater. Anyways I think that it is very possible that this guy may be a playable character in the game in addition to the presently assumed middle aged main character. The trailer features him driving a few times in a similar focus to the way the 'main character' is shown driving. This could mean that there are multiple protagonists or MAYBE a first time co-op mode/storyline in the series. What do you guys think?

More of a Italian mob-esque voice in GTA III and a bit less so in LCS in my opinion. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kWkKPMZfZWo Starts talking at somewhere around 2:50.Anyways, both sound quite different from the voice heard in the trailer.
-
Ray Liotta was Tommy Vercetti..... Tony was voiced by Danny Mastrogiorgio. Unless you mean in GTA III, in which it was Michael Madsen. Yup I was just about to mention that too. After listening to the different voices of Toni in GTA III and LCS, I don't think that it is him in the trailer. Plus, wasn't he a little bit chubby looking in GTA III?
-
I just read your initial post about TC. Very possible, looks quite like him. Also it would make sense that Toni would move to SA 'for the weather' instead of Tommy who lives/lived in beautiful VC I never got to play LCS though since my PSP had a very short lifespan. Was it worth a play?
