  1. They're now responded by saying that they won't ignore the petition, and 402 will make sure lots of people at IW see it - http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=225716 And details for the game launch have been revealed. On the 9th November in Leicester Square, home of the 'Hollywood premiere', according to CVG, there'll be a screening of the game, as well as the launch at midnight. http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=225814 I think the male artist could be someone who used to live in an area close to mine, but probably not. The guy who's currently, or was, at number 1 in the Billboard 100 in the US, Jay Sean. Actually he's number 2 now. Will probably be someone else.
  2. I think they got bored of the game adverts always ending with the 360 logo, and the 'console from £199.99' voiceover all the time. MS can afford to throw cash at advertising, but it's different for cash-strapped Sony. I got the Uncharted 2 code for increased currency in multiplayer today, via e-mail. Will use it later on the PSN. I have about 7 trophies left until I get Platinum for UC2, it's so much easier to get than the original Uncharted.
  3. DLC is being used alongside the main GH releases, but I agree they don't need a new one every year, or 6 months even. Also, even the DLC isn't that great. I heard a bit of upcoming DLC for GH5, and it's rubbish. It's basically rock and rap, and it doesn't work. It's on wikipedia. They can re-use artists they've used before, but just use different songs. Eg, Slayer, they'll have to use the censored versions, Lamb Of God, Slipknot, In Flames. I don't know why they feel they have to use new artists every time, there aren't that many great heavy metal bands and rock bands out there, so they shouldn't feel pressured into using new ones every time.
  4. Why is it, that with each new GH game, the tracklists are getting worse and worse? I thought Guitar Hero 3 had the best tracklist, but I've listened to samples of all the songs in GH4 and 5, and they suck. There was only about 4 or 5 that sounded good in each game. I was trying to save points on Lockerz to get the GH5 guitar bundle, but now I'm not so sure. The tracklists are going towards the Alternate/Modern Rock genre, which isn't what GH is about. It should be about Motorhead, and Metallica, and Slayer, etc. Not Coldplay, Blur and No Doubt. I'm sure it's about reaching a bigger mainstream audience, but still. They're alienating all their original fans, and I'm personally getting bored of all this soft-rock shite.
  5. Surprisingly, my one worked quite well. My connection is a bit error-prone today, so I kept restarting. This is my 3rd restart now I think, will have to try again this evening for the PSN. My first attempt and got an A. BTW, can anyone explain exactly what ping is, and what jitter is. I checked out ping, and it's to do with the reaction time to transfer data over the internet, but I want someone to explain it in an easy way. I think I know the basics of that though. And I have no idea about Jitter.
  6. Maybe these links will help. It's the same problem you have, the red x, and there's a few solutions posted by users there. Might help? http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080506080741AAHqHYz http://www.fixya.com/support/t2408302-red_x_speaker_icon_says_no http://www.windows7taskforce.com/view/3344 The audio definitely doesn't work? Have you tried playing different video types like mpeg, WMV, etc, to see if they work? Or is there just no sound?
  7. 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it'. Someone should ram that message down their throats. If it was left the same, no more money than usual would be lost. Idiots. But still, Activision are also getting screwed on the deal and I don't like their moneygrabbing ways - Guitar Hero, Tony Hawk and the skateboard accessory, COD, etc.
  8. Heh, you know a lot more than me about that. I should read the manual more. Yeah the saves thing is annoying, don't know why they're protected.
  9. The Juggernaut is really hard to kill. I think you can only use a.50 Cal on him. and it takes quite a few bullets to kill him too. Also, interesting to watch when the guy was asked whether or not we'd play from the Russian perspective at some point, perhaps during the US invasion mission in Washington DC? He might just be reluctant to reveal more info than he's allowed, or he's just doing it to get us excited when it probably won't happen at all. Off topic - I thought my PS3 died on me late last night, about 12AM. When someone posts in the PS3 topic, I'll write what happened in there. Scary. EDIT: Apparently, the PC community are furious after IW decided to change the PC matchmaking system into a system identical to the consoles. There's no dedicated servers for the game, so each game will be hosted on someones internet connection instead. The full story is below: http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=225627 Also, have a quick look at this link - a Google search for MW2 pc - http://www.google.co.uk/#hl=en&source=hp&q=MW2+pc&btnG=Google+Search&meta=&aq=f&oq=MW2+pc&fp=38c542da47a26377 There are loads of topics with people moaning about the decision, and one there on the 1st page called 'Cancel your MW2 (PC) preorders'. And here's the petition link - http://www.petitiononline.com/mod_perl/signed.cgi?dedis4mw Notice that it rises by about 6 signatures every few seconds. It currently stands at over 66,000 signatures. It'll probably reach 100,000 in about 3 days, or less. Also, the game is rated 18 by the BBFC, and 16+ by PEGI, so it's supposedly going to be the bloodiest COD game yet, according to the ratings. And, a 30 second clip of a new multiplayer map has been revealed, and it's called 'Rust' - http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=225698
  10. I didn't need to do the restore file system thing, thankfully. Those copy prohibited saves, you can't get those back. I only had 1 of them, Killzone 2, and I want to trade it in anyway so I don't care. And you need a specific HD to use for the PS3, it doesn't recognise them all. Apparently, the SeaGate hard drives are supposed to be good. In the UK, you can get a 500GB one for £80 or less, or a 750GB for £90 or less. Not sure how much it would be in Australia. The hard drive you need has to be FAT32 or it won't work.
  11. The Bossman

    R.I.P :(

That's too bad. Have anything important on the hard drive, like games bought from the marketplace? And did you have a disc in there when you got the RROD? Because it's unlikely you'll get that back. I don't own a 360 so can't really help you. You could try a temporary fix if there is a disc in there. My PS3 almost died a few days ago, I thought I had to choose a few options to rebuild the HD but luckily it fixed itself.
  12. I was never bullied, I was quite tall in school and people didn't really pick a fight with me. Occasionally the higher year kids would say a few things, or nudge me in the corridor, but nothing that annoyed me really. That's probably why I'm so thick-skinned these days. The most annoying ones were the younger years. You couldn't really do anything to them, because if you did they'd run to a teacher and claim innocence. I think it's the feeling of power, that you can't be hurt by the person you're picking on. Kind of like a domination thing. As Spaz said, watching someone get hurt, there are people who like that sort of thing. Most of the schools are fucked-up as it is.
  13. But we wouldn't be alive, and we wouldn't exist. Just like before we were born, we didn't experience years of living in pitch black darkness, unable to move, until we were born. I don't believe there is an afterlife, it sounds stupid to me.
  14. I laughed at that. No, the ball you have to save is the WHITE one, not the RED one, Reina. The rules state that the game should be stopped and a drop-ball played if an object thrown onto the pitch interferes with play, so it's strange the goal was allowed. But I'm not complaining. Today, Blackburn won the fierce derby against Burnley, 3-2. Burnley went ahead, but Blackburn equalised and then scored 2 more, before Burnley scored a late goal in added time. They're 2 of the first clubs ever to exist in English football, so it's an important derby.
  15. It's been on the Japan store for years now, the UK are so far behind them now, it's just a desperate situation. And I registered on your site TM, I'll stick around if it gets popular. Uncharted 2 is just so amazing, I'm on chapter 20 odd now, I think 22 or 23. I don't want the game to end, but I know it will quite soon. Only a few chapters left. Then I can focus on the hunt for Trophies, multiplayer and co-op play, which will last a long time. Haven't played co-op yet, and only played 1 multiplayer game.
  16. Ah, I know exactly why. The thing to do is, overwrite your previous saves, DON'T MAKE NEW ONES. For some bizarre reason, Konami didn't seem to include software to prevent more HD space being taken up by newly created saves. Essentially, every time you make a new save and subsequently a new game, you're losing about 4GB or more in HD space, because they didn't include software to prevent that happening. The same thing happened to me, with my puny 40GB PS3. Just keep your most advanced save, and delete all the others. A word of warning, you MAY have to format your PS3 to get the space back, so back-up everything on your PS3 and then format it. I'll search for some links about this, see if other people have experienced the same thing. Hmm, I can't find any links, but that's because I don't know what to type in to search for. This is a big problem though, so just don't make new saves.
  17. I find it annoying I can't edit the topic title, because I want to change it to just Uncharted 2, but whatever. Anyone else bought the game yet? I got mine on the 15th October via pre-order, day before release, and it's quite frankly amazing. The step-up from Uncharted 1, and its sequel, is crazy. The snow levels and graphics are among the best ever made, better than Killzone 2, Gran Turismo, etc. wish I had an HDTV to properly appreciate them, I will at some point. Actually I think my TV is beginning to die as well, but that's for another time. The opening of the game, as seen in the teaser trailer, has you in a train carriage hanging off the edge of a cliff, and you have to carefully manouevere your way to the top. At points, things will snap and break when you're climbing on them, eg a pipe, and you'll fall down and have to climb up again. It's very tense. When you do reach the top, you pick up the artifact in the snow that was in the trailers, then promptly collapse, and it flashes back about 4 months earlier, where the real story begins. I won't reveal much else, but like in the original game, there's you and 2 other people on a carribean island, plotting out an adventure to inflitrate a lightly guarded museum to steal an object that someone has requested. As for enemies, they're mostly lightly armoured and can be taken down with a few bullets, but when you encounter 2 specific guards, 1 with a shotgun and a few layers of armour, and another with a gatling gun and masses and masses of armour, impossible to penetrate with your weapons, you have to find another way of defeating them. Last point, there's a stunning point in the game where you're supposedly lost, and have to follow a guide who saved your life, who can't speak a word of english. This leads to the best snow graphics in a videogame ever, and the best graphics, period. I cannot say in words how amazing this game is. The mostly perfect scores given to the game so far are absolutely correct. You can replay this game over and over and it'll still feel fresh.
  18. I haven't received a yellow light yet, and I hope I don't. I was very happy when I realised nothing was wrong with it, as you'd expect. The last time I backed ANYTHING up on the PS3 was way back in June 2008, when I went to get MGS4, so I should probably back it up soon. I already have the saves I want to keep on a memory stick, so they're fine. I don't really care about install data, I can just leave that to do itself, but I do care about the PSN Accounts. That's why I'm now making a record of every new account I make, writing down the e-mail address and password, so that if this happens again, I should hopefully save everything. I wish you luck in fixing yours.
  19. That does sound too good to be true, but you can always double-check with them. And it's too bad you had a disc inside your PS3 when it broke. I don't have one in there at the moment, thankfully. Not that my PS3 is broken, but I nearly thought it was. For anyone who doesn't know, check the PS3 topic for more info, if you want.
  20. Well, the PS3 had a blue error screen which came up, in a different language, whilst I was on the PS3 internet browser. Might have been english there as well, and then all my user accounts messed up. They each had a star next to each one, and still do. I looked for my game saves, games, etc, but nothing was there, and I couldn't sign in online either. But, I made a new user, and tried to sign in with my same bossman222 account, and it worked. Then, I found all my data again, including game saves, purchased games, etc. You think it was a fault, or something more serious? Because it's seemingly back to normal now. I turned it off and on again, and it was fine. I hope when I turn it on later, it works fine. I have no reason to suspect it won't work *touches wood* The only issue I have, is that I forgot my email addresses and passwords for my other accounts, but thankfully not for my main account, because I wrote that down when I first registered it. Why, did it happen to you as well, or not?
  21. Latest news round-up. There was a fairly large amount of gameplay revealed by SpikeTV about a week or so ago, might as well post it up here - http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=225150 Also, the game will not be delayed. Apparently, some people, or one person, made an MSN coversation, supposedly with Rob Bowling, the MW2 Community Manager, in which he said it'll be delayed to December as a worst case scenario, but it's all a lie. Here's his quote - Link - http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=225300There'll be avatar items for Xbox Live, some free, but mostly you have to pay for them - http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=225234 And, a few new screenshots over here - http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=225360
