DVI is an alternative to VGA. You know the plug that goes into your PC from your monitor? That's a VGA socket. DVI are an alternative, but different, they are better quality, and only newer monitors support them. HDMI is only supported by the more expensive monitors and TV's and gives awesome sound an visual quality.

It CAN output a HDMI signal, but doesn't have one as standard, a DVI - HDMI adapter would be needed for that, as well as a HDMI equipped mobo. i think.

Asus tend to be the best when it comes to customer service, warranty, and all that. So that's what i say. Gigabyte make good cards too... I've had bad experiences with sapphire cards...

Space the text out alot more, and make it 100% black, it looks about 70% grey there. Also, it's too tall, and looks stretched, so brig it down a couple notches.

If the model is particularly detailed, and your PC isn't very fast...it may be causing a graphical glitch, which leads to the game crashing.

I'm sure the code, models and textures not being in the files beg to differ.

When you're including your specs, it's also very relevant what screen resolution you're running. A game might run on high at 800x600, but have to take a massive drop in visuals to run at 1280x1024. When anyone says 'at high settings' it's useless unless they say what resolution they are at. If you run on the wrong resolution for your screen, chances are the game will look shit anyway. @ evo... you probably could run that...if the 8xxx was an 8800 GTX or something... and if you were at 1280x1024. I got that out of my system, but when i went up to 1680x1050, i had to drop it down to just high.

Quad core = fad. End. GTAIV won't require dual core, but it will be optimized to take advantage of it. It's not all about what make of processor you have either really. No point in ahving one that you had to sell your firstborn to buy if it's not backed up with other good components. I think that a rig running a 2.4 ghz dual core could run it on full with the right RAM / GFX setup.
