Red_91
I don't know if this is true but on IGN it says that a 80 GB PS3 is in creation to rival X BOX 360's elite. I was thinking if this is true and come out in the summer or before GTAIV is relesaed, I might aswell get this one. So do you guys think it's true and if so should I think about getting it? That's some pretty damn good news for those who are thinking of buying a PS3, but 60 gig should last for a while you know, and when you're low on space then you just need to upgrade, 500 gig HDDs doesn't cost that much these days you know. MrLlamaLlama
pS3's have laptod HDDs anyway, just buy one and replace. A modding shop in japan fitted one with a 750Gb beast...
tilly
yeah when i get my ps3, im using my old win 2000 LT HD which is a bluray 932 gig. YAY BLURAY IS EVERYWHERE! it sorta sucked because after the computer got old, i realized i couldnt use the HD on anything else, and couldnt really replace it, being that i didnt need it. But now I will put i to good use
Pandora
Or, he can get a 80 gig PS3 and later upgrade to 500 gig. You need a Laptop HDD for the PS3. And the one who said 500 gig is cheap, 200 EUR is not really cheap in my eyes you know..
GTAPlayer
Ahh you need laptop HDDs eh, well it's nice to know that. Anyway man, I never said it was "cheap", I said it doesn't cost "that" much, know what I'm saying. And yeah man, 200 EUR is pretty damn much, but you can pretty much find regular 500 gig HDDs for a better price than 200 EUR you know. The Bossman
Sony are just trying to be attention seekers now. As much as I like them, they should stick to 20GB and 60GB, this is pointless IMO. 60GB will last a fairly long time, around 8 months, maybe a year. Nate10
Doesn't matter with 120gb 360's and a simple upgrade to like 500gb and 750 gb... BTW someone please tell me how you get like 500-750gb's in the PS3?
Ciaran
There is no Playstation 3 80gb, that was confirmed by Sony after they heard the rumours. If you want a higher GB then just buy one, you could easily get a better one.
CroScorpion
80 Gigs is still too small! Sony need to make PS3 with 200 Gigs min. otherwise he is going to be crushed by Microsoft's XBox 360.

GTAPlayer
Well it looks like a 200 gig version of the PS3 is going to happen you know. According to Destructoid.com Sony is planning on a more expensive 200 gig version of PS3, should be out next year. But hey man, you can always upgrade. Yeah man it seems better to go from 60 to 200, than 60-80.
Ciaran
Yeah just buy it yourself, plus I don't even know why you would want as high as 200gb, I can't even fill my 60gb
Red_91
I will probably go for the 60GB version but I probably won't upgrade, I usually like things ti have all the stuff in it, I don't really like buying ad ons.
GTAPlayer
Well I'm not gonna get the 200 gig version, I don't really see that necessary. I don't even know if I'm going to get a PS3, I'm kinda in the middle of when I'm not really sure which console to buy (like a lot of ppl don't know), the xbox 360 or the PS3. But no matter which console I decide to buy I will definitely have a lot of fun with it, oh yeah.

GTAPlayer
Yeah man, of course, always good to have space, and it's nothing wrong with having more, then you really don't need to worry about that. But you can always buy the 60-gig-ver and then just upgrade it later when you need it, know what I'm saying.
Red_91
So am I right in saying that a 200GB PS3 will be made?
GTAPlayer
Yeah man, it seems like Sony is planning on a more expensive 200 gig version of the PS3, coming in 2008 or something. I wouldn't pay more and get a 200 gig ver PS3, I'd go for the 60 gig ver and then later upgrade, if I need it of course.

Yeah I can't get the 200GB if it comes out in 2008 because GTAIV will be out by then so I won't be getting that one, I will just stick with the 60GB I will probably be getting. Just out of curiosity how much will an upgrade cost?
GTAPlayer
Well check out this website --> Laptop HDDs. It offers different laptop HDDs, so it depends if you're upgrading to 80 or 100 or something like that, but 100 seems like a good upgrade from 60, so it looks like it costs somewhere between 80-90$ or something like that. CroScorpion
I check them and they don't give much, you know and upgrading would be cheapest, I think!
