Vercetti Thug
Ah yes, another virus in my lap, isnt that great? Ok so I installed the GTA Ultimate Vice City 2.0 mod and I found a virus file, I sent it to the virus vault, but my AVG free expires this month, will the virus be loose then? Ivan
When you say this month how many time is actually left?
Pandora
Is that Ultimate VC 2.0 a trainer? Cause it that case it might just be a false alarm. Keygen's are seen as viruses too quite often. But then there is the chance that it might actually be a real one..
Vercetti Thug
Expires at the end of this month, and what worries me about this virus is that when i open up my GTA Vice City main folder where i extracted the Vice City Ultimate files, it came up twice, even though I deleted it once. It says Virus Identified as Win32/Fujacks.J, and its icon name was pzdvc10t.exe
Huckleberry Pie
Have you tried uploading the suspected file to Virus Total?
Vercetti Thug
Again, i have no idea what your talking about, I have AVG free virus vault and i sent it there
Huckleberry Pie
What I mean is, upload the suspected file to virustotal.com for analysis... I did that yesterday when my PC had a Vundo infection...
TomNeckermann
Unless the file is completely terminated, and no cookies or whatsoever left of it, no virus should come on your laptop. However, if there is still any extension for it, then once your AVG is off, the virus will strike and your computer may be spread out with it. What I suggest is that you buy an anti-virus such as NOD or so, or you can download it for free via torrent. If you don't want to pay for anything, then I suggest you download "Avast! Home Edition", when you download it, there will be a free-trial, but then just register it; which is surprizingly free.

JustADummy
Yes. It's warez and the Antivirus considers it as a virus. Just allow it if you wanna use the mod.
WRX22B1998
how is a trainer warez?
Huckleberry Pie
how is a trainer warez? The trainer itself isn't considered warez, but the guy who made the app is from a warez group. There are times that such groups use their reverse engineering skills to make game enhancements, but they are, of course, notorious for breaking copyright protection schemes... Pandora
Trainers sometimes get seen as viruses by certain virusscanners. In essence they still are hacks.
Naean
They are seen as 'hacks' because of the extent of their modding capabilities. Most security products may think its a threat because it doesn't presume (And rightly so.) that it is a harmless file, seeing as it is modifying files stored in the Program Files folder, and SOME files that do that do it for the wrong reasons without your consent, and therefore, the security software warns you. The security software warns you because it doesn't know or did not recognise that it actual fact, you allowed the modification and it is not a virus. Hopefully, this explanation explains it all! Slightly off topic: Also, I would also like to say that I agree with those who support avast!. It is a great security product and I have never had any issues with it. It was rated 5 out of 5 by the CNET download.com editor, and it came with my new computer. What does that tell you? MrLlamaLlama
^ it doesn't modify those files at all. It tracks your keypresses, because it needs them to change things in the game's memory. The same devices are used by hackers to log what credit card numbers you type in when you buy shit online. also, bump.
