Little Jacob
i noticed if you go powerboating with Brucie if he wants you to go to the statue of happiness he says take us to the statue of Liberty! has anyone else noticed this?
MarkD1990
Most people in the game call it the statue of liberty, there is no mistake really. And since the game is set in Liberty City some people would call it the statue of liberty because it looks over liberty lol
rockstarrem
That actually sounds like a small easter egg. Nice find!

TM™
I don't see any mistake. It's like saying "Let's Go To New York" if it's in reality. But if a character from the GTA Series says anything, it might be something like "C'mon man! We have no choice but the return to Liberty City." I'm not sure if those two examples are good in any way. Snazzybacon
its not a mistake in the game... honestly. im quite sure i've heard pedestrians say statue of liberty besides it's in liberty city... so its only natural they would call it statue of liberty, because its in LC
rockstarrem
But it's actually called the Statue of Happiness, so it's really not natural.
Patty-T
But calling it "the statue of liberty" because it's in liberty city, would be like saying "The Statue Of New York", if it was in New York.
Sherman
But everything is basically parodied after New York. Modeled, yeah, but building names and such are different. Such as the Geta-Life

Charger
this is just like in san andreas when in a mission the police say los angeles pd Yeah, sometimes in the police radio you can hear police calling for backup at "Los Angeles International Airport" or Downtown Los Angeles. Huckleberry Pie
Adding to the fact that the internal names for some of the map assets in SA are LA and LV, which stands for Los Angeles and Las Vegas, which were obviously the basis of two of the cities in SA. silverballer95
Common sence should tellyou ney sayers that if it's called "The Statue of Happiness" then calling it "The Statue of Liberty" is somewhat of a small mistake in the writing. Maybe some writer should have slept a little instead of staying up 37 hours straight. LOL!

fatalgamer
Actually yes I noticed this along time ago, I also heard him say the Statue of Freedom. Weird..... I figured it was a human error.
Deji
Liberty is another word for Freedom. So the Statue of Libert is the Statue of Freedom. And I guess... Freedom = Happiness?
