The CPU's a 6-core, it absolutely eats through desktop processing - a little bit overkill looking back, but ehh well. My favourite part of the build was unpacking the case to find it had wheels supplied with it xD - that and my first taste of epic solid state boot times.

Yeah well my case can switch colors! In 7 years it went from pearl white to cheese yellow! Beat that!

Haha it certainly can't do that... but why cheese yellow? :P

oh.no.wait. I just got the joke. well played, sir.

Also @ amazingdude: The best OS is windows 7 64bit. There are a bunch of versions, just pick the one you think suits you. For just home use home premium's fine (what i use) but if you want all -out, go for pro. Buying an OEM version will save you a ton of money aswell.

Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 x64

I have an i7 processor 4 GB RAM and 640 GB HDD with high end nvidia graphics any suggestions of which O.S i should use?

Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 x64 is the best.

I have no idea what Ultimate does but it's Ultimate so yeah...

LOL. Actually Ultimate has the most features.

XP SP3. Cause Vista blows and I forgot about my free 7 Upgrade.

Why free? Cheap bastard. Windows 7 is the best

Added a poll to this topic. Let me know if you want any more options.

I was using Windows 8 (dev preview) for a couple of weeks, but it just wasn't a great experience with a keyboard and mouse. Back to good old Windows 7 (professional x64, SP1) which has been my OS of choice for 2.5 years (since before I worked for Microsoft). I'm running it on an i7 2600k for those who are interested.

However, chances are my next computer purchase will be a Macbook Pro, because of the hardware quality and battery life. Not sure whether I'll end up using OSX more than Windows, though.
