I figured if I ask members of my forum we can all help get stuff done quicker. So I'd really appreciate it if anyone can do stuff to help. We aim to be the best GTA resource available. Really Important -----> Important ----> Unimportant ----> Irrelevant and organising things like this may help with the process: Easy and quick -----> Hard and slow You need to sort out what can be done and what needs to be done, so they're the ones you do. Classic GTA + GTAA + GTA3 Content = unimportant, vslow GTAVC + GTASA content = important, vslow GTALCS content = really imporant, slow/fast Add Good downloads = important, fast Add loads of downloads = important, vslow Edit Poll Script = unimportant, quick Align ads = unimportant, quick Fix Smilies + Image Uploader = unimportant, slow Edit Gang System = unimportant, fast/slow Ibstore on IPB 2.1 = important, fast/slow So taking into account importance and speed, you should probably do things in this order: Now GTA LCS Content Align Ads Edit Poll Script Over the next couple of weeks GTA LCS Content Fix Forum Mods Get IBStore working on 2.1 Add important downloads Over the next few months Loads of SA downloads A few VC downloads GTASA and GTAVC Content When bored or convenient (aka never) Classic GTA Content GTAA Content GTA III downloads I hope being sorted out helps Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Gerard Posted September 11, 2005 Share Posted September 11, 2005 I posted a poll in the GTAIII section, asking people if they still play it and if its worth us adding more stuff. If we get a resounding "not bothered" or "don't care" then I think it would be safe to strike it off the list, along with classic GTA. I never played GTAIII very much, mainly due to me not owning it (even now), so i think a poll would be better. Ideally, we need more staff to cope with the site content, if thats to be of any focus. With 2.1.1, the gangs, the store, and the shake-up, the forums will be pretty much sorted by christmas, and should run fairly smoothly. The site design is good, and the codings fine. So the site and forums are sorted but need content. People write volumes in the forums, but a few more graphical things have been added recently (eg pwned) so people are maybe more inspired to write for the important stuff, and the fun sections dont take up all the effort. I also have a complete listing of each article of clothing complete with a description, how to obtain it, and screenshots, all compressed to JPG format. Also, the CheatDevice page is not done yet, but will be soon. NOTE: That I didn't format these for PHP, they are in the simple .txt format. Also, on the clothes page, all of the mission names used have HTML "<i>" tags. Hope that won't be a problem. I also know that my Features and Characters pages aren't the most in-depth, but I make 'em for a much-needed update to what is on there right now. LCScontent.zip Also, a little note, I love Photoshop's jpg compression. When they were .bmps, the images combined took up about 5mb. Can I just point out if anyone's wondering, please write in present tense unless you're doing pre-release stuff, in which case future tense, but I think all pre-release stuff is done? I think the characters page for every game actually needs to be revamped, I'm not suggesting we copy, but if you head over to gta-sanandreas.com and look at their characters page, thats the sort of detail that would be ideal, maybe just a couple lines description for all the main ones anyway. Accompanying screenshots would be very helpful but not necessary. Thanks people, keep it coming, soon this place will be the ultimate resource for GTA. I'll actually be putting all the mods and admins on the staff page if they aren't already, and people who have done content WILL be credited.
