Lol... in America, the first Harry Potter book is called Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone. Presumably only the rest of the world know what a philosopher is. God bless market research. I also read the Hobbit twice, an dI'm about halfway through the Fellowship of the Ring right now. I don't really get into reading much though... And the Silmarillion... it justs exerts an air of boredom around it... I couldn't get past the first page, and even my dad, who is a huge LOTR fan, only lasted until page ten... And the only reason why the LoTR is boring (which I do agree with you) is because the author is trying to make you feel how the characters are feeling, like tired or exhausted, if it was just always fighting and action it wouldn't make it seem very realistic. Which is a giant book filled with illustrated pictures, and the stories of the war, like how hitler built fake peace treaties, then assualted countries etc. Very good read.
