No scans? Hmm... I don't like to post until there are scans so we can verify the information. Also, is anybody here a fluent German speaker who can make sure the translations are correct? The reason I ask is specifically because of that K9 thing... I seem to remember R* not wanting to put animals in the game... presumably we'd be able to kill them?

From the outset I have always been keen to say that Niko is Serbian - of course there's no proof so I could still be wrong, but never mind that. Of the countries that make up the Balkans, only Serbia and Croatia tend to have surnames ending in 'ic'. Croatia isn't a country you typically associate with this sort of stuff, so yeah, I say Serbia too. @Gycu: We already knew that? Did we not? Sure I mentioned it in a previous post.. No they won't. It's set in 2007. How would they still be standing? And I highly doubt any missions will occur there.

The September(?) issue of US Official Xbox Magazine has brought with it a few more details about GTA IV: Little Jacob offered weapons including a 9mm pistol, a shotgun, an SMG, and a micro SMG McReary's first name is Francis, and he knows about a felony Niko committed Another vehicle is confirmed as it is noted that Niko stole a black Comet before heading off to the Humboldt River Viewpoint to kill the man who has McReary's memory stick. Before Niko submitted his C.V. to the Goldberg, Ligner & Shyster website, OXM noticed that his C.V. notes that he was on the "Balkan Peace Force" and that he is adept at swimming, shooting and boxing. Karen is the name of the receptionist from Goldberg, Ligner & Shyster, who calls Niko to notify him of his interview. It's not known if she is an important character or not. There are no references to the September 11th terrorist attacks anywhere in the game. Swimming is a confirmed feature The "Balkan Peace Force" fact is more evidence that Niko is not Russian. There are still some websites saying he is - an Xbox.com editor recently made the mistake of saying Niko is a Russian immigrant. Now if you remember back to the last time OXM had a preview, you might recall the following quote from Dan Houser: Thanks to jester210 for the scans.

Interesting, didn't think you were being serious... B& WWYDI I B& BOTH his accounts rather than just one?

@TM: lol yes, and FYI Photoshop CS3 fully loads in mere seconds, took like at least 30 seconds to load up on my old PC... @chris82: Yeah that's why I got two of them, they fill up so quickly with 'things' that we download. And yeah the only thing I hate about wireless kb/mice is having to change the batteries, oh and the fact my Desk is more cluttered with the infra red receiver or whatever it is.

I spent over £800 for new parts. The sound card, speakers, monitor, keyboard/mouse and also one of the hard drives were taken from out of my old PC. So that saved me more money. To buy all of it new would have cost over £1000. Also, the EyeToy is damn good quality webcam, beats the hell out of those cheap Logitech ones anyway

That GTA2? Nice, good luck with your map. Haven't played the game for years...

Click the thumbnails for bigger images Another HUGE improvement over my old PC is the noise... this thing is soooooo quiet, it's barely a humming noise. I love it! It runs everything so damn quick it's amazing. Also, I ran 3DMark06 on it today, and my PC scored 9,234 I didn't even have the patience to sit through all the tests on my old PC Any comments?

Who the hell uses VLC for music though, really.

We should add the guide to the gangs page on the site...let Chris know about this. http://www.thegtaplace.com/sanandreas/respect.php That's all from the official guide. No other GTA sites even have this and StrategyWiki has been linking us for years K9, where did you get all this info from?
-
Whoever posts 300 GET has to post with a SPARTAAAAA meme. This is really boring counting down though. Post a funny image too.

I would wonder why exactly I had a base, and also who the dudes were. WWYDI I closed down TGTAP?

Gotta get me some Roman Candles, I saw a video (on what is now Break.com) set to Sum 41's "The Hell Song" when I was 14 or 15 and they looked so awesome. Last thing I bought were various things for my new PC

Too many people here with silly names Thanks, and sorry InevitibleGoat for wrongly saying your name
-
No I haven't forgotten about Elites. Members (if any...) will be made August 1st... perhaps. InevitibleGoat, you're probably innocent in asking, but I never like it when someone asks to be a mod. Even if you have the best intentions it sends out the wrong signals and implies the following. - want more power - more control - want to gain priveleges which could put you in a position to do detrimental things to the site and so on... you get my point. And after that the point is, we CHOOSE mods, we don't have people 'apply' or 'ask' to become one. Only in certain situations do we even ask for people to apply for positions (such as the recent news posters).
-
No I don't.... I see you are a proud Chilean though.

Your suggestive avatar fits well with the frequency of your fapping

And some people will be annoyed by it. Others will be listening to their own music so want won't to turn their speakers off. It's not actually a good idea. Show me one other respectable non-flash website that does this. Exactly there are none, for the reasons above. If you want to listen to music while browsing, play your MP3's

No problem. Also, I've done all the UK flags now, if anyone else wants their country's flag made like the others let me know Edit: Currently, of all the countries people have chosen, only 3 others didn't have 3d flags, so I've done them too now.
-
I just tried, if you don't see it, view the image http://www.thegtaplace.com/images/flags/cl.gif and hard refresh it. I was just playing around with the gradient tool and believe I got a very similar setting, and added 1px black inside stroke... how's that? Better? I'm not gonna do all the flags myself, but if your country has a non-3D flag and you have Photoshop and would like the gradient settings, just ask and I'll take a screen. If not then just request it here and I'll do it for you. I'm going to do all the UK flags right now.
-
There's hundreds of non-3D flags, well they're not even proper 3D anyway but I know what you mean. Feel free to make it into a 3D flag.. I'm not sure what effect was used in Photoshop.. I might have a look though and see what I can reproduce.

Your who's online question was already answered above. And with regards to your other suggestion, I was already thinking that myself and decided to implement it today! Although you can already use the Members List feature (clicking on Toggle more options...) to find people in a particular country, it wasn't particularly intuitive. So I quickly put together a nice little page to show everything in a better way. Anyway, I'm closing this now since everything's been answered. Please refer to the announcement topic for full details and discussion etc. Thanks

UPDATE 1: I have quickly put together a Country List allowing you to see how many members are from each country. You can also see who those members are. UPDATE 2: The flags under your avatar are now clickable, they take you directly to the country list page for that country.
