So the Crackdown demo has been out on the Xbox 360 for a few weeks now, and the game was released recently including Halo 3 beta invite. What does everyone here think of the game? It's created by Dave Jones, he's the guy who created GTA, so it's instantly awesome just by that fact. I've had the game for 2 days now, and I'd say I'm roughly halfway through it already, yeah it seems to be a pretty short game. My other dislike is that it doesn't seem to have much of a storyline - obviously it has something, but it seems a little weak. But those are my only gripes with the game, as apart from those I love it. The gameplay is great. Ragdoll physics are implemented properly (not like the crap implementation seen in San Andreas) so if you stick 10 grenades under a dead body and explode them they are going to go a long way in the air The graphics are awesome too. You might think with the cartoony effect that they aren't, but once you get up some insanely high buildings you see that the draw distance is incredible, the water looks like real life water. And the cartoony effect is good for the game I think - it doesn't make it seem stupid that we can jump amazingly high and throw cars and other objects hundreds of feet, it seems normal, whereas if it had been made to look realistic it would be ridiculous. Right now I'm actually going round getting Xbox 360 achievements, because I want this game to last because I really like it, it just feels like it's going to be over within a week. And after clearing out each city of all the gangs, will there be nothing left to do? I guess I'll find that out for myself soon enough. Anyway, this is the official discussion topic now. Ok the profile error has been fixed. Invision didn't include the updated file in the upgrade .zip - not my fault at all there. I seem to have missed an edit for IBStore which gives us money, so I'll go and fix that now. EDIT: should be fixed now. As for the IBStore errors, they are nothing to do with me but I've reported it as a bug so hopefully it will get fixed soon.

It's fixed, the feature is working. Credit cards have been removed until further notice.

I've just performed a minor upgrade on the forums' Invision Power Board software, from 2.2.1 to 2.2.2. Most of the upgrade was for literally a ton of bug fixes. If you're actually interested then you can read which ones over at that link to InvisionPower.com I just provided. Hopefully everything still works, but if you see anything strange, or some weird errors occur, then post them here and let me know so I can fix them ASAP. I also took the time to upgrade IBStore to the latest beta. Many bugs have been fixed, including the one where you would be the 25th post and then get an IPS Driver Error. I think the only thing left to be fixed is the quizzes. Once they're done it'll all be fully functional. Again, if you see any bugs in the store, or any other mods we have for that matter, post here and let me know. Thanks.

Yes they do have some low specs, but have you ever played them on a low spec computer? I have, it's crap. I remember having to play Vice City with minimum settings at 800x600. It looked rubbish, graphics were appalling and frame rate was incredibly low, not a great experience. I think my point is this - IF you're a gamer, you're going to have a decent PC. If you don't then why the hell are you trying to game on your PC? Either that or you're a console gamer. Your statement "very few people will have this type of PC" is slightly wrong. The sort of people who have low spec PC's aren't generally the type who buy games in the first place. The other thing you're forgetting is that even if it is released on PC's, it's over a year away. You think everyone will have the exact same specs? I doubt it, unless you aren't a gamer in which case there's no need to upgrade. So why did you post in this topic? Stop spamming, moron.

Are you serious? Even by today's standards that isn't a particularly good spec computer at all for gaming. Look at the specs for upcoming games such as Alan Wake for example, which are so intense they require a dual core processor as minimum spec, and recommend a quad-core processor to play it as it's intended. I wouldn't imagine GTA4 is going to be that different. Remember if there is a PC release it's going to be in 2008. Your predictions are a long way off I think a more accurate prediction would be the following (minimum): Processor: 3GHz single core (or 2.0ghz dual core) RAM: 1Gb Graphics: 256Mb Recommended: Processor 2.8Ghz Dual Core or greater RAM: 1.5Gb+ Graphics: 512MB+ I'm interested to see what everyone else thinks about this though.

All right this seems pretty cool, though before it gets underway, let me just give you my 2 cents on the graphics used here, because in my opinion you guys aren't doing yourself any favours by not making that much of an effort with them, let me explain further... Ok, with your graphics, what's with all the white backgrounds? Looks like it's done in paint. Make them either transparent, or perhaps better the same colour as the background to this post, the grey colour. It would look so much better. The winners badge simply delete all the white round the edge and save as a .gif Ok the top image - are you trying to go for the reflection effect? If you are then send me the .psd I'll fix it for you Finally, your usersbars. Just stop and look at them for a second, the font is awful, quite hard to read because it's so big. Lord Voldemort seems to have used the correct one though, so get his. Or possibly make yours smaller, I'm not sure if it's just the size that's making it look weird, but it is after all a pixel font. If stroke's are overlapping then just adjust the letter-spacing in the advanced properties of the text tool. Hope my advice helps, don't mean any offence by it, I just think it should look better than it does at the moment, and more attractive to potential participants

The image limit is a forum-wide limit, the mods/admins can't bypass it. The reason it's there is to stop people from image spamming. I know sometimes you legitimately need to post loadsof images, like in this topic, but we can't adjust the setting everytime you need to edit the first post. I know it's annoying... What I would suggest is putting the rest in one of your other posts in this topic, and then linking to it in the first post.

SPEEDTEST.NET HAS TODAY BEEN REVAMPED WITH A NEW INTERFACE AND FEATURES Yes that's right, check it out. The interface has been improved a little. And there's some nice new features and stats available to you. For example, clicking on the My Past Results tab enables you to find all the tests you've done in the past, along with the IP used and everything. There's some new stats available such as your average speed, and also, how it compares to everybody else in YOUR country. Mine says I have a connection which is faster than 79% of the population, (in the UK). I'm quite impressed with that actually.

We just upgraded the server to the latest version of PHP. What I didn't realise is that it enables a memory limit to stop scripts from using too much memory on the server and slowing the site down. Unfortunately the default is at just 8mb - a very low limit. I've raised it now though, haven't had the problem myself since doing so so I'm thinking that's fixed it. If anyone else is still getting the error let me know.
