  1. How is Obama unsuitable? He supports Net Neutrality (McCain doesn't), supports stem cell research (McCain doesn't), supports actually taxing big companies, etc...I can't legally vote but if I could it would be for him.
  2. That's not necessarily true, Christians do not believe that you "must go to church or you'll go to hell". Church for Christians is mainly a place for fellowship/repentance/etc...depending on the denomination.
  3. If your idea of good multiplayer is "laggy" and "horrible registration" and "easy to cheat in" then yes, it will be horrible multiplayer.
  4. Don't judge a processor by it's clock speed, 2.6GHz could be amazing or shitty depending on the processor architecture. For example a 2.6GHz Pentium 4 is absolute shit while a 2.6GHz Core2Duo is spectacular and the 5000+ isn't bad either; I use a variant of it and it works wonders. Just remember short, a better graphics card would also be good.
  5. lol, AM2 is 940 pins iirc, but there was another standard called "socket 940" which blew cock. Anyway AM2 is the most common AMD socket and in fact is what mine is as well. Again, something in the 5000+ or 6000+ range should be fine and will make TF2 run even better.
  6. That's why you use CPU-Z for information. Socket 940...not available on Newegg anymore but shouldn't be that hard to find. Something in the 5000+ or 6000+ range should do fine.
  7. Nice AMD processor that is also pretty cheap. Just make sure both are the same socket type and you have a good heatsinkfan and thermal grease. A decent heatsinkfan can be had for under $50 the only thermal grease acceptable to use is Arctic Silver 5, which costs about $5. As for a video card, get a 4850, they are under $200 and absolutely amazing for what you get. Keep in mind that what I'm telling you to get will probably let you play it maxed out, especially if you're running at a low resolution like that. Yes TF2 is quite a RAM hog and GTA IV will be too. Enjoy. EDIT: Looking back, someone made a comment about CRTs being old. CRTs aren't necessarily bad. Sure, I like LCDs because of how much lighter/thinner/less eye-strain inducing they are, but CRTs give a slightly better picture quality. It doesn't matter if you only have a VGA connection, yes almost all graphics cards produced today have a DVI slot instead but they also usually include DVI-to-VGA converters, which work fine, and I used them until I got my LCD.
  8. doubt it, video card is bad and 512mb total means it shares some of your regular RAM, reducing that as well.
  9. You realize any website you go to will know all of that information.
  10. lol +1 But seriously I find the whole concept stupid and to be honest I don't really care that much about it, so probably de-ist (God created the universe then fucked off) or agnostic, I don't spend time thinking about it.
  11. lol General rule of thumb with nVidia cards. In 4-number series cards, if the second number is below 6, the card sucks and should never be used for gaming ever. Same thing with ATi, although it's generally the second number being below 8 that denotes failure. If your graphics card is integrated/Intel, I doubt you'll be able to play at all. I've said it before: if you can't play San Andreas maxed out (Very High visual FX), at 1280x1024 and get a constant framerate (usually 25 if V-Sync is off and frame limiter is on) then good luck playing GTA IV.
  12. Hey! Don't you dare change Algonquin! I'll have you know the Algonquin were (and I think maybe still are, if any more exist) one of the most honored tribes of Native Indians, and Algonquin Park is my favourite Provincial Park (my Grandma lives just outside Algonquin Provincial Park). You best be trollin' He didn't say he was going to change Algonquin. In fact he clearly said "I leave the modding to the pro's" And if someone did change Algonquin, what would you do about it, and why should that bother you in the first place?
  13. Well they made certain parts of San Andreas uneditable (in that editing the script and most models would crash the game) which effectively disabled Hot Coffee most common install methods. However, that's not the reason they couldn't provide modding tools in the first place. GTAIII, Vice City, and San Andreas use the RenderWare engine which is property of one of Electronic Arts' companies, so Rockstar would probably have to pay to make tools and distribute them. Rockstar created and owns RAGE and if they are nice, will provide tools to mod the game with.
  14. Why? Hot coffee doesn't exist for IV so they should have no problem making it moddable...in fact they'll likely even provide tools now that they are legally able to do so.
  15. Don't be so sure. The Xbox 360 has three cores and the PS3 seven, but how many of those cores the game used is unknown to me. But the possibility is there.
  16. Yes. No. We get additional multiplayer content. Plus the fact that it uses Steam too, I don't see this happening.
  17. Bullshit it is, the more cores the better, but it costs more and most games (even some applications) still don't take advantage of them. IMO they should program each core to do a different task. For example if you had a quad-core processor and a game, one core would do the physics, one for the lighting/shadowing, one for rendering, and one for processing information. The graphics and sound cards would take care of the other bits. That's a damn nice computer for a laptop, I just don't like to game on them, but you should be able to run it on there anyway.
  18. I used to play a lot but I just like TF2 better. And I get kicked really often, I just prefer a game where 99% of admins aren't uptight assholes.
  19. I don't see why the recommended specs wouldn't be similar to those; remember how advanced GTA IV is compared to previous GTA games; real-time HDR lighting and reflections all the time, much higher polygon counts on the models, much more detailed textures, real-time shadows for people, vehicles, and the environment, as well as the amazing real-time physics engine. The only problem I see with GTA Don's specs is the fact that the Intel and AMD processors are mismatched quite a bit. It was easy when Intel processors sucked and you could easily judge, but based on the benchmarks of my current processor, you can see performance between AMD and Intel processors in 3D games. According to that, the E6600 is roughly equal to the 6000+ and the 6400+ is equal to the Q6600, although that may not hold true for GTA IV because I'm sure that not all 4 cores of that processor were being used by those games.
  20. It was from an IRC convo I was having. As for my current clipboard, Theres a meteor shower outside, quit being nerdy fucks for a second and go soak in the beauty of the universe.
  21. <colitis> !chucknorris <Mog> Chuck Norris eats beef jerky and shits gun powder. Then he uses that gun powder to make a bullet, which he uses to kill a cow and make more beef jerky. Some people refer to this as the "Circle of Life". [score=6.086]
