Well I was taking screenshots of my friend in-game firing the flamethrower for an unrelated graphic and I thought it looked really good. The flames were cut out using a little-known tool called the color range. It's best if what you're cutting out is a contrasting color to the background, yet it would look crappy if you used the magic wand tool. The background was dark gray so it was really easy to cut the flames out. I will saturate the flames more, even though I don't know how they will look on the other forum I use this signature on, which has a dark background...still, should be fun. The edges sticking out from the border is an unintended side-effect of the gaussian blur I think, before I apply the blur nothing is there and afterwords...I think it looks cool. Also the only reason I changed the glow to green was to differentiate it from the other sig...I would have done blue but it would have been an ugly blend with the uber'd BLU people in the background. Red should look good. I'll repost the fix later, thanks for the comments guys.

It better be 3D or extremely intuitive 2D, they should be able to do something nice with the dual screens, I'm thinking a 3D view on the top screen and radar/info on the bottom. So the small screen allows for a 3D view but isn't cluttered with information. The problem is that DS cartridges only allow for 256mb of storage so if it were 3D, it would probably ONLY be Chinatown, although a larger version of it. No way you're getting all of Liberty City in addition to cutscenes, audio, etc...in 256mb. GTA3 without audio takes up about 570mb and the audio itself is over 650mb... So would you rather have an entire city with a 2D view or a large yet much smaller than a city area with a 3D view?

Chinese gangs are bigger in America and since the game is based on Liberty City's chinatown it will probably be made bigger anyway.

I've never seen someone say that computers would be unable to run GTA IV, hell, I can get 30fps on Crysis with DX10 settings/2xAA and I don't even have the latest components. And with the new 4870 which kicks everything's ass there's no question GTA IV will be able to be run on PCs. Seriously, anything the Xbox 360 can render the PC can render better.

From that picture they look almost exactly the same, but I've been told the PS3 version has better looking shadows. Also for some reason a lot of PS3 games have a ridiculous blur applied to them. But either way, whatever, extra content > better graphics. BTW both versions have depth of field effects.

I wouldn't mind seeing a GTA based on a city outside the US, though in truth I think the next GTA will be Vice City and the one after that San Andreas, both of which will be amazing. I'm hoping V is sort of a GTA: World type thing, which would be fucking awesome. As for GTA IV, I have no doubt it will be released on PC, though I'd image not until this time or later next year. Oh and Liberty City is based on New York, it says it right in the Special Edition booklet.

Exactry. The interface has been unified across Adobe applications so it's easier to switch between Photoshop and Dreamweaver easily. I find it's easier to clone/heal pixels and have them blend better. It also works a lot better with my Vistaids. I can't wait until CS4 though, Content Aware Image Resizing is going to be tits. Which, in theory, would allow you to this image into a full-size wallpaper with little effort.
