Power A substitute controllers for PS3 systems require some Buyer Beware notice, Mine is a wired variety from a pawnshop, I paid no more then $10 as I recall, BUT it only worked for several months, if even that, The analogs are FAR off Axis now, and just went bad, no abuse. I am an adult gamer, and I don't really abuse my stuff. I did take it apart and reassemble only to find the analog switches are hard soldered to the board supporting the circuits and buttons, all of which still work, but the analogs are crucial elements for gameplay, so it's garbage. Made in China.... Just sayin' As for other findings, the PS3 itself IS RELIANT on the BD drive working in order for HDD saves to initialize, never mind that you don't require a disc to play a downloaded demo or game, your system will hang and never recover. So, my find was that a properly loading mechanical drive, as long as it's mostly working will allow the system to function as needed, but won't read any disc media, in my case, the ODD is screwed! ARGH.....

With PSN I could do MP or online gaming for free, I've no cash for XBL Gold, but I also don't have a console account tied to Social Club, so what should I do? Can I do more then one? Add PSN and XBL GTag?? I am too lazy to pursue the Q and A route ha ha ha

Hiya, I saw some of you guys on my trusty Xbox Gamertags back with GTAIV and RDR MP fun, but the problem is with crews, I believe, you can't even get two people's schedules online to line up very well, much less a gang or crew, I would like if everyone committed, in GTA IV MP, You'd be in waiting rooms or starting a online mission quest and people would leap out of session or decide not to play, even in Undead Nightmare, had MP people turn against paired players, which sucks since we died and had to watch the other losers, although we could have left ourselves, we wound up joining forces later. Each MP session really had a different feel to it based on who was playing at any given time Now, I did sign up for Social Club, I also have PSN and a shared Gamertag with my PSN user name, but I doubt everyone who agreed initially to play online at the same time will actually be able to consistently

Multiple lawsuits from Universal Media-Music group, You know, Warners and Universal MCA corp have LOVE litigation in years past. Was enjoying a music site I was turned on to, they've been sued by Universal twice in a year, unearthed insider emails that attested to illegal music uploads, now that's a nail in the coffin. Despite the sounds of it, YouTube faces much the same, More then a million users means the policing job is REALLY difficult, but it won't mean you can run rampant without worry either! As for piracy, it's a concern not to the rich fat-cats in the whole picture, but to those who are in the job of creating music and code, games, software, they want to share in the fruits of their labor, that means we pay them via sales, buying music or movies, or games online or in stores, bottom line, it's important to keep sight of that

It won't work well on even Well Endowed computer systems, but according to some using GMA from Intel, and FOR SURE, Intels upcoming Ivy Bridge, you will, since a key component is DirectX 11 support, and you need SM 3 or 4 for new graphics in 3D. I bought a second 512MB GDDR 8600GT nVidia for a bargain price on eBay, now to get an SLI board, I'll have all I need since the board I have supports 16GBs DDR2 on the old 775 socket (core2duo or Quad!) Yo, Grabbed a $15 used USB wired Mad Catz, Gamestop branded controller for my GTA gaming on laptop, or PC as well, and it should work with Microsoft's driver from their site, which installed correctly However, reviews show this particular Mad Catz, or other similar generics could have issues, do you get what you pay for, or are these budget priced Third Party brands useful replacements??

I have the PC versions of Episodes for LC, Vice, San An, and GTA 3, but I haven't really ventured into PC modding so this is a good idea to kick off for the novice. Talking to casual HARD CORE gamers, not GTA specific fans, I heard it's "more of the same, better graphics", which, if GTA doesn't float your boat, is hard to argue, since it's FREE ROAM PARADISE with story narrative missions that still could be deemed boring compared to the RPG adventure games in olden times (Skyrim, Ultima, Dragons and Lizards, you catch my drift) Well, GTA will follow a familiar game play design but change up elements and a major story difference I'm sure. Rumored there is to be a "Game Changer" however, with recent magazine articles, that idea was shot down by people after the Spike TV's Video Game Awards left everyone disappointed this year. Doesn't imply that those two other noteds; San Fierro or Las Venturras will exist in the new San Andreas, it's just that since VC, I recall, San An came up in the game's conversations. I was watching THE OTHER GUYS with Mark and Will... You recall? "Where did you learn to drive? GTA" Well, it did play MOST of that movie, and one burned DVD, JVC brand, a Memorex recorder and disc (same brand blank) were standing by to test in it, and it wouldn't read the Memorex brand. I think that the brand matching is key to figuring out if a recorder actually works well, but anyway, not a huge chunk of change, I just like the HD tuner and upscaling, as well as USB port and DV port. My Christmas present to myself, luckily I know how to take things apart and deal with hard ware issues that way.

I was an adult obsessed with GTA who became an adult obsessed with Red Dead Redemption, and basically Uncharted as well, love all them Well, I ran into the usual online hassles prompting my name here, and with a good online friend, who I'd been chatting it up with about two years prior, started up an online site in the past year and a half, even getting some Twitter feedback from Rockstar. Now it seems, however, someone forgot to pay our bills, since I wasn't and the site went dead! ARGH! That's worse then dying in-game Well, I'd been here since then and still, I pop in because board politics don't get in the way of just hanging out enjoying gamers who like ....oddly enuff, the games!??!

I bought a game controller USB imitation XB360 one, it's from Game Stop, but really made via MadCatz. I'm not yet playing with it, but even with the controller, some custom adjustments are needed. I used Control panel to plot out axis and button number which should help mapping from the game menu If you Google the Mad Catz, you can find they offered a few over the years, I downloaded MS' 360 utility for PCs, installed the controller, ran the software, rebooted, and it recognized so I'm off to test drive it, I did make do with the keyboard for about two weeks, then I was off and moving again, without the discs handy. Well, I just don't think I'd ever surpass my controller prowess! haha

I'm an OLD dude gamer, getting a PC basically worthy of ATTEMPTING to play the regular PC GTA IV and Episodes. I have an 80GB HDD formatted with Vista Home Premium and it's maxed out to 10GBs free after deleting GTA SA and vid/aud/porn files... Still not enough room, this game is about 16GBs of required space without any mods it seems. I need to pair the OS drive with an extra one, is there a way to get around buying two OSes to do that? I've got all my discs in storage to move around a lot with no solid job leads....and no money for all the parts I'd need. I bought Episodes which I do have on PC but it's also in storage, sadly, and the version there should work with Mods. San Andreas re-dressed on RAGE uses GTA IV files I'm sure, but I'm not sure about what is needed, what goes where, and of course, I read you must back up original files that the MOD replaces. Two issues of PC Gamer touch on these two mods for PC GTA fans, the San An HD Rage, and ENB/iCEnhancer. I wish to explore all the cool skins, affects and car packs, but I think those "tutorials" are somewhat geared to experienced modders or PC users, rather then console gamers who do more mundane things on laptops and PC! haha Like me. A friend told me iCEnhancer won't work on Steam games, I'm not sure about why, other then I plan to only use PSN for my console since the BD drive doesn't work, and buy disc based PC games since they're SUPPOSED to be cheaper
